Chapter 1 Who is This Man? | After I Lose Everything

The intricate chandelier in the room was unique, emitting a faint light.

The man's plundering was frantic. Harper Young couldn't see the man's face in front of her, only a very blurry outline, but the contours were absolutely perfect.

She felt like a rag doll, being torn apart by him.

She thought, ‘Who is this man?’

Just as everything calmed down, a sharp voice suddenly rang out.

"Harper, you are shameless!"

The next second, the exhausted Harper was violently yanked up.

Harper only heard a buzz in her ears. She slowly opened her eyes.

"Slap!" A slap landed on Harper's cheek, causing a burning pain that made her head clearer.

"Harper, how could I have a friend as shameless as you!"

Harper looked at the furious Victoria Barnes in front of her, slightly stunned.

She didn't know what had happened. She tightly clutched the thin blanket, lowered her head, and saw the hickeys on her body. When she moved slightly, the pain made her gasp.

Harper thought, ‘What I have just experienced wasn't a dream? Was it real?’

Harper's face turned pale instantly. She looked at Victoria in shock, "What's going on?"

"What's going on? How dare you ask? Harper, look at yourself now, you clearly look like you have just had sex. How dare you have an affair in the mansion of the Wilson family. You shameless woman!" Victoria cursed, angrily pointing at Harper.

Listening to Victoria's accusations, Harper could feel her anger, however, she was unable to respond.

She tried to recall. She only remembered the scorching skin contact, the man's beast-like possession that she couldn't bear.

She thought, ‘This can't be true!’

Harper kept shaking her head, unwilling to believe it.

She wondered what had happened. Her memory was very blurry. Harper only remembered that today was the day her fiancé, Greg, returned from abroad, and she came here to find him.

However, she did not know how she ended up having sex with another man. She didn't even know who that man was.

"Impossible…" Harper muttered, "Has Greg returned? I want to see him!"

Just as Harper finished speaking, Greg Wilson entered the room.

He was gentle and elegant, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, his face full of disappointment and heartbreak as he looked at her. "I have returned, Harper. I never expected that the one to betray me would be you."

The moment Harper saw Greg, her eyes instantly reddened, tears welling up, ready to fall.

"I didn't…" Harper's voice was weak. Her body was covered in hickeys, making her unable to argue, and she felt that any explanation would only make things worse.

Victoria laughed suddenly at Harper's denial, her mocking tone ringing out, "You didn't? Harper, since you didn't betray Greg, then explain this lab report!"

The next second, a lab report was thrown onto Harper's delicate face.

The report fell in front of Harper. She picked it up and was completely stunned by the test results.

"Two months pregnant, Harper, you are really something! Greg was abroad two months ago, yet you have been pregnant for two months. Whose child is in your belly? It couldn't possibly be Greg's!" Victoria questioned Harper aggressively.

"This is impossible!" Harper's eyes widened, her body trembling, finding the test results unbelievable, "I didn't betray him, and it's impossible for me to be pregnant. This report must be fake!"

"Fake? Harper, your ability to lie is really impressive. All the identity information on this report matches you. How could it be fake? Could the hospital issue a fake lab report?" Victoria questioned Harper coldly, pressing her step by step as if the evidence was irrefutable.

Harper frowned, her whole body aching, but the most painful spot was her left chest, where the pain was intense.

She didn’t know who conducted this report. Harper couldn't explain it. The identity information was indeed hers, but she had never gone to the hospital for such a test.

She raised her tearful eyes, looking at Greg standing not far away.

"Greg, do you believe me?" Harper took a deep breath, trying to hold back her tears, asking him.

All she wanted was his trust.

Greg quietly looked at Harper. After about ten seconds, he finally spoke, "Harper, you see the situation now. The evidence is right in front of me. How can you expect me to believe you?"

In other words, he didn't believe her.

Hearing Greg's words, a tear instantly fell from the corner of Harper's eye, quickly disappearing.

Harper raised her hand, discreetly wiping away the remaining tears on her cheek. She smiled at Greg. It was a bleak smile.

She said, "Yes, with such evidence, how could you believe me… You are right. In that case, let's cancel our engagement."

Greg showed no regret, instead, he looked pleased, but only for a few seconds. His expression quickly turned serious and pained again.

Seeing his expression change at this moment, Harper found it even more ridiculous.

She thought to herself, ‘Harper, you are a complete fool. Greg has stopped loving you long ago!’

Victoria said, "Harper, even if you don't say it, Greg would cancel this absurd engagement. With your ruined body and that baby in your belly, you are not worthy of Greg! Cancelling the engagement is a wise move!"

Chapter 2 I'll Settle This Score with You! | After I Lose Everything

Harper smiled, "Victoria, whether I'm worthy of Greg isn't for you to decide. However, my voluntarily canceling the engagement means I am the one who doesn't want him. I hope you understand that."

At these words, Victoria's face turned pale. She hadn't expected Harper to be still able to speak with such conviction under these circumstances. Victoria was completely stunned.

Before Victoria could respond, Harper spoke again, "I don't want him as my fiancé, and I don't want you as my friend either since you are so fake."

Harper's words were calm and unwavering.

Greg and Victoria stared at Harper in shock, never expecting her to be so resolute. It was as if nothing had happened. She quickly decided to kick both of them out of her life with one swift move.

Victoria trembled with anger, her face contorting with rage.

"Harper, do you think I want to be friends with a whore like you? I'll call Greg’s dad and your dad right now, let them see what their once favored daughter-in-law looks like now!"

With that, Victoria turned and quickly walked out of the room.

Harper smiled, wrapping herself in the thin blanket, then slowly stood up. Every bone in her body ached as if she had been crushed by a car.

She casually tied up her long hair and looked at Greg with a light smile.

Greg was stunned by her smile, frozen in place.

He had never expected Harper to be so composed, even leisurely fixing her hair and smiling at him in this situation. Little did he know, Harper's heart was heavier and more pained than anyone else's.

Within a few seconds, all the members of the Wilson family gathered at the door, all showing expressions of shock upon seeing Harper.

"What is going on here?" Hadley Wilson, Greg's father, was the first to regain his composure and asked.

Victoria quickly added fuel to the fire, "Hadley, didn't I tell you? Harper betrayed Greg, cuckolding him! She had the audacity to do it in the Wilson Mansion. Her lover must have jumped out the window and escaped. Look, the window is still open!"

Harper found Victoria's concocted story laughable, her lips curving into a sweet smile. "Victoria, you even know when my lover left. Were you hiding in the room and watching?"

Victoria was taken aback, shouting in a panic, "What are you talking about? Harper, you have been shamelessly messing around with another man behind Greg's back, and you still have the audacity to speak? You have no shame!"

Harper didn't get angry. Instead, she smiled even more sweetly at Victoria.

Without wasting more words, Harper turned her gaze to Hadley and said, "Hadley."

She maintained her manners, but when necessary, she wouldn't hold back on her temper.

Harper continued, "A prestigious family like the Wilson family won't let me leave without a set of clothes, right? If I walk out like this, tomorrow's headlines will be all about the Wilson family. You probably don’t like that, right?"

Her tone carried a hint of threat. She knew she was at a disadvantage. If she didn't show some fierceness, she would be bullied by this group of people. Harper knew that people bully the weak and fear the strong.

Being experienced, Hadley didn't get angry. However, his words were sharp as he instructed a servant, "Prepare the best clothes for Miss Harper Young and arrange the best car to send her home. The Young family needs her now."

His words were laden with hidden meanings. Harper sensed something was wrong and smiled, "No need for the car. I don't have the right to ride in the Wilson family's car. Just a set of clothes will do."

"Just prepare a set of clothes," Hadley instructed the servant again.

Soon, a servant brought a new outfit and threw it at Harper with disdain.

Harper wasn't annoyed. She took the clothes and went to the bathroom to change.

When she emerged, the bedroom was already empty.

Harper picked up the lab report that had fallen on the bed. She leaned weakly against the wall, her eyes stinging. She took a deep breath, forcing her tears back.

She thought, ‘Harper, you can't cry. You can't afford to shed a single tear now!’

She straightened her back and walked downstairs. Each step felt shaky and weak.

Downstairs, everyone stared at her with judgmental expressions, like she was on trial with no chance of redemption.

Harper remained calm and prepared to leave, but Victoria called out to her, "Wait!"

Harper asked, "What now?"

"Take your cheesecake and get out, you pretentious woman!" Victoria shoved a box of cheesecake into Harper's hands.

The box was already ruined, and the cheesecake inside was a mess.

Harper stepped closer to Victoria, raised her hand, and dumped the cheesecake on Victoria’s head.

Victoria screamed, "Harper!" She angrily glared at Harper, ready to fight.

However, Harper was very quick as she grabbed Victoria's hand and slapped her hard across the face.

The loud slap shocked everyone present.

"This slap is the first step of my revenge on you," Harper said. She raised her beautiful face close to Victoria's while smiling brightly. "You have set me up. I'll settle this score with you later!"

Victoria's face turned pale, losing her nerve.

Harper didn't spare a glance at anyone else and left.

There was no reason for her to stay another minute.

She felt a chill down her spine as if a pair of cold eyes were watching her.

She wanted to turn around and find the owner of those eyes, but tears fell down her face unexpectedly. She couldn't turn back and hurried out of the mansion.
