"Ms. Hensley, Mr. Thomson asked you to deliver a box of condoms to his room."
Adeline Hensley was buying this kind of thing for the first time. She was holding a box labeled with the words "enhanced endurance" and hurriedly heading to the presidential suite on the top floor of the Crown Hotel.
That was an exclusive room for Harrison Thomson.
Adeline knocked on the door, which opened, and a man in a bathrobe was standing before her.
He seemed to have just finished showering, with water droplets at the tips of his hair. The bathrobe on his upper body was slightly open, allowing Adeline to catch a glimpse of his well-defined abs.
At just one glance, Adeline felt her throat dry up. She shifted her gaze away and handed over the box in her hand.
"Mr. Thomson, here are the things you requested," said Adeline.
As she finished speaking, Harrison suddenly reached out, pulled her inside, and slammed the door shut.
The room had no lights on.
Adeline found herself pinned against the wall, her heart pounding.
"Mr. Thomson? What's wrong with you?" Adeline asked.
Harrison didn't speak but was breathing heavily in her ear.
"Help me."
Adeline could feel his hot breath, as if he was struggling to endure something.
"Mr. Thomson..."
Before she could finish her sentence, her lips were sealed, and she couldn't make any sound.
When Adeline woke up, it was already dust.
Harrison was still asleep.
When she moved slightly, Adeline felt like her body was falling apart.
Adeline remembered how she had cried and pleaded last night, regretting that she had chosen that type of condom for him.
After she recovered slightly, Adeline quietly got out of bed and dressed.
When she reached the door of the room, she looked back at the man in bed.
With his high nose bridge and handsome face, even while asleep, Harrison exuded an air of oppression.
In the company, he was the object of desire for single ladies.
Adeline was no exception.
She just never thought she would wake up in his bed one day.
Adeline returned to her rented apartment, took a shower, changed clothes, and then headed to the company.
When Adeline reached the top floor of the Thomson Group, her assistant ran over to her, saying, "Ms. Hensley, be careful, Mr. Thomson seems to be in a bad mood today."
The intimate scene from last night immediately flashed through Adeline's mind.
"Was it because of last night?" she thought.
She pursed her lips and said, "Got it."
An internal call came in, and Harrison's cold voice sounded. "Come to my office."
Adeline's heart tightened, and she nervously entered Harrison's office.
"Mr. Thomson."
"The drinks from last night were tampered with," Harrison said indifferently. "Investigate it."
Adeline's expression froze.
Last night, she had felt that Harrison had been drugged, and now it seemed to be true.
"Yes, Mr. Thomson," Adeline said.
"And, find out who the woman in my room was."
When she heard this, Adeline's face turned pale.
Was Adeline going to report herself to him?
If Harrison found out that she had slept with him last night, she probably wouldn't be allowed to stay at the Thomson Group anymore.
"Ms. Hensley?" Harrison looked up at her, his gaze cold and sharp. "Are you listening?"
Adeline quickly composed herself, saying seriously, "I'll investigate right away."
With that, she turned and left but felt nervous.
After Adeline left Harrison's office, her assistant kindly brought her a cup of coffee.
"Ms. Hensley, are you fine?"
Adeline took a sip of coffee and said, "I'm fine. By the way, where's Kyson?"
Kyson was the one who had messaged her last night to deliver condoms to Harrison.
But judging from Harrison's reaction just now, it seemed like he didn't know about it.
Harrison was set up, so he couldn't have arranged for someone to deliver the condoms in advance.
"Kyson hasn't come in today," the assistant said.
Adeline immediately picked up her phone and called Kyson.
But it was turned off.
Adeline scoffed.
Kyson had been part of Harrison's assistant team for two years. Adeline hadn't expected Kyson to be bought off to set her and Harrison up.
She arranged for someone to find out Kyson's whereabouts and then went to check the hotel's surveillance.
Soon, she received news that the hotel's surveillance had been damaged last night and was being repaired.
This was within Adeline's expectations.
If someone wanted to set up Harrison, they wouldn't leave any evidence behind.
It would take some effort to find out the mastermind behind it.

In the afternoon, representatives from Aprico Group came to the Thomson Group to sign a contract with Harrison.
The representative sent by them was a middle-aged man with a refined appearance, but his speech was rather slick, "Are you satisfied with last night's arrangements, Mr. Thomson?"
"Last night?" Harrison sneered, "What arrangements?"
Others couldn't tell, but Adeline could sense that Harrison was starting to get angry.
Jayce Browning, the representative, hesitated for a moment and then asked, "Didn't that woman go to your room? She was handpicked by our boss to ensure your satisfaction."
Harrison's eyes flashed with cold light at this remark.
"Is that so?" There was a hint of a smile at the corner of his mouth, but it was more terrifying than not smiling at all.
At this moment, anyone could tell that Harrison was furious.
Jayce finally realized that their arrangements from last night were unnecessary and tried to salvage the situation. "Sorry, Mr. Thomson, we were being too meddlesome, but we sincerely want to cooperate with the Thomson Group."
"the Thomson Group never cooperates with the likes of you." Harrison said coldly, "Ms. Hensley, inform the staff that Aprico Group and its related companies are to be blacklisted. We will never cooperate with them."
"Yes, Mr. Thomson," Adeline said with fear, but she forced herself to remain calm.
While she appeared composed on the surface, her palms were already sweaty with anxiety.
Last night's incident had truly angered Harrison.
The fact that he could take such drastic actions against a cooperating company made Adeline dread what consequences she might face if he found out she was the one who slept with him last night.
Harrison got up and left the meeting room. Jayce, feeling resentful, wanted to catch up. "Mr. Thomson..."
"Mr. Browning, Mr. Thomson has made himself clear." Adeline stood in the way, reminding Jayce.
Jayce pleaded, "Ms. Hensley, could you please speak up for us in front of Mr. Thomson? It was our mistake, and we promise it will never happen again."
The collaboration was on the brink of success. Jayce felt unwilling that it was going to be ruined because of such a trivial matter from last night.
Facing his plea, Adeline remained unmoved and gestured for him to leave.
"I'm sorry, but please leave the Thomson Group," she said.
Having worked with Harrison for so many years, Adeline had long figured out his temperament. When it came to work, Harrison was always serious about his words.
Once he made a decision, it couldn't be changed.
After Jayce left, Adeline prepared coffee in the pantry and brought it to the CEO's office.
Harrison had a habit of drinking hand-ground coffee when he was in a bad mood.
However, at this moment, every second felt excruciatingly painful for Adeline.
As she entered, she saw Harrison sitting at his desk reading documents, the gold-rimmed glasses adding a touch of nobility to him.
"There's no need to find the woman from last night," Harrison suddenly said.
If it was just a woman sent by Aprico Group, he didn't want to know who she was. After all, she wasn't exactly someone of good repute.
Originally, he had wanted to reward that woman for helping him vent his desire or to be responsible for her.
Now that he knew the truth, there was no need for it.
With a heavy heart, Adeline was interrupted by his words, causing her to spill coffee on Harrison's pants.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Thomson," Adeline said.
Adeline quickly grabbed some tissues and knelt to wipe Harrison's pants.
However, a drop of coffee spilled in an awkward spot, making it difficult for Adeline to wipe it off or leave it be.
Harrison lowered his gaze to the top of her head, suddenly recalling the scenes from last night.
"Why did it feel so familiar?" he thought.
"Ms. Hensley," Harrison called her.
Before Adeline could respond, she felt his slender fingers grip her chin, forcing her to meet his gaze.
He said, "What are you nervous about?"
His gaze seemed to be able to read her mind.
Adeline lowered her eyes, avoiding his gaze, and replied calmly, "I'm not nervous. Perhaps I didn't get enough rest last night. I'm sorry. I won't make such mistakes again in the future."
Harrison didn't dwell on this issue any further and let her go.
Adeline stood up and said business-like, "Mr. Thomson, the hotel's surveillance footage has all been damaged. Since Jayce admitted the arrangements from last night, there's no need for him to go through the trouble of destroying the surveillance footage. The one who tried to set you up last night maybe someone else."
Harrison agreed and said, "Find out who's behind this."
Adeline's back stiffened, but she remained composed. "Yes."
"Then should we investigate the woman who entered your room?" Adeline asked tentatively,
"No need. That kind of woman is not worth investigating," Harrison said casually, with a hint of disdain in his eyes.
"Yes, Mr. Thomson." Adeline breathed a sigh of relief.
Although she felt wronged being labeled by Harrison, as long as she could keep her job, this slight injustice didn't seem significant.
