Alpha Yuna

Birds squeaked through the raw leaves, flying from here to there when they heard a wolf running into the forest. Footsteps sounded more dominating, faster than usual wolves. An old wrinkled man was running ahead at inhuman speed, desperate to save his life from the chasing person behind.

No matter how fast he ran off, his vampiric speed didn't help him out this time because he had the Alpha following his footsteps insanely. Just when he was about to jump off from the border of Ravenwood, a black wolf grabbed him from the back, forcing him to stop inside.

Sharp claws found his neck, almost strangling but not killing straight away. The fierceness of that wolf's eyes forced him to act weakly. After a while of suffocating, the vampire finally pleaded through his raspy breathing,

" Please..."

The big black wolf didn't falter upon his request. Her canines grew painfully large and it was thirsty to drink blood from a vampire. But those useless vows suppressed her urge. Letting out a guttural growl, her wolf responded throatily, " We have rules!"

That was the end of their discussion as the wolf had already opened her mouth to rip off his head from his neckline. Warm blood spurted out instantly, staining her blackish fur deeply. With a victorious howl in the air, the black wolf expressed her joy for killing another enemy and turned to walk back into the forest.

" Yuna! That wasn't necessary!", a boy in his late twenties walked out of the forest first, his eyes scrutinizing tightly. He stole a glance at the dead body behind.

The black wolf finally melted her gaze at the man, standing in the distance, and gestured something silently. Ryder Winslow received her friend's signal and sighing, he threw the clothes in his hand. Then he turned to face the dense forest, putting his hands on his hips helplessly.

The black wolf transformed into a girl finally, getting into her clothes quickly. Yuna grinned up at her best friend, chuckling, " You are mad, again. If I don't kill them, they won't be afraid of me anymore to step into this Ravenwood, Ryder."

Ryder glanced back in the distance, showing his concern as they both walked together into Ravenwood, " But what if the vampires go against you for killing them, Alpha?"

Yuna shook her head, scoffing arrogantly, " They won't dare, Ryder. We have protocols. Whoever crosses the line shall die. This vampire just faced that consequence. Besides, I saw him eyeing one of our teenage girls. I don't think that he had good intentions."

Ryder hummed nodding his head frequently to look up at his friend. She looked more beautiful after turning 20 yesterday. The domination on her face became much more evident that he could die staring at her beauty. Only she was the girl who could rule over him even though he was the next heir of becoming an Alpha King.

Yuna snapped her head aside and caught her friend's eyes full of admiration on her. She blurted, unaware of the deep emotions behind his hazel eyes, " What? Is there something on my face?"

Ryder smiled shaking his head like a fool in love. He should have guessed that his friend wasn't a shy girl like others. She was an Alpha, the leader of the Raden Wolves Pack, an epitome of domination, fierceness, and ruthlessness.

Regaining his calm composure, Ryder looked around to see the beauty of night in Ravenwood. Trees covered in heavy smoke, lines of trees with the gentlest moonlight, coming from sky-high, Radenwood had always been a favorite place for the werewolves except for the dark histories behind it. Ryder attempted for the second time to start a romantic conversation, " Yuna... Don't.. don't you think that it's too romantic weather in Ravenwood, tonight?"

Yuna swept her red eyes, across the nearby surrounding. Except for the warmer temperature tonight, she didn't find anything exceptional as per his comment. She shrugged, pushing her dark curls behind, " It's usual like before. What's up to you today, Ryder?"

Yuna had a feeling that Ryder was speaking weird things today ever since he came to her. Just when Ryder parted his lips to speak something, " Yuna... Actually..I think...I..l.."

" Alpha, you are here. Thank goodness!", another voice traveled from a distance, earning their attention together on the way. Yuna's beta, Zeke appeared in front of them, appearing serious in expression. Zeke bowed at his Alpha, reporting, " I was looking for you, Alpha. There is a serious case, waiting for you to get solved."

Yuna knitted her brows worryingly. Nodding her head, she replied quickly, already taking big strides to reach the pack house, " Let's get going fast then. I was hunting the vampire."

Before Ryder had his chance to say anything, Yuna disappeared from his sight, leaving him alone behind. Ryder exhaled heavily and sometimes, he believed that Yuna exhausted herself too much with pack responsibilities. He didn't like it sometimes but what could he do except accompany her?

But..

He couldn't say it again today...When can he?

" Alpha is coming!", the courtroom of the pack house was gathered with pack members. They opened a path for their Alpha as soon as they heard her coming. Yuna stepped inside the courtroom, her eyes meeting the sadistic faces who came to see the trial. Although she didn't know what was the emerging case coming today, she predicted something bad through their discarded expression.

Zeke trailed his Alpha closely, stopping a few inches down from the stairs as Yuna climbed off to her highest position in the courtroom. The members went noticeably silent as she observed them. Yuna's voice echoed out with curiosity, " What is happening here all of a sudden, Zeke?"

Zeke came in front to give her a short bow. He spoke after clearing his throat, " Alpha, the Rogers couple want to file for separation."

Yuna's eyes froze for a second, her hand gripping the handle tightly. In her eyes, they were okay so far and this sudden news of separation left her shocked. She breathed heavily, followed by an order through her gritted teeth, " Tell them to come in front!"

Zeke signaled at the guards who quickly went back to call the Rogers couple, a group of omega members in the pack. As the middle-aged couple came forward, everyone has begun to whisper random things about them. They had kids already and had been living together for a long time.

Yuna raised her tone, staring hard at them, " Is it true? Do you two want to split up? For what reason? I thought you two were happy."

Mr.Rogers sighed shaking his head and speaking truthfully, " No, Alpha. After years, we just think that we don't share any emotional bond. It's hard to get along with each other now. We are both responsible for the kids but we just don't want to be together anymore."

Mrs.Rogers agreed, keeping her head low with respect to the Alpha, " It's true, Alpha. I guess, we aren't just suited anymore."

Yuna couldn't hold back her temper anymore. Standing in a shot from her Alpha position, she yelled at the pack members, heartbreakingly, " What's wrong with Raden Wolves? Within just one month, I have approved more than ten divorce cases, four infidelity cases, and seven complaining cases about cheating on husband or wife. Have you all lost your morality? This is becoming disgraceful. Why can't you all just live happily ever after?"

She was hurt to know that the members who were her family growing apart from each other slowly. After losing her father and brother, she was left alone and thought that her pack would be her strength but they became more distant day by day.

The oldest member of the pack came to respond to their Alpha, hinting indirect accusation at her, " You know the reason behind this, Alpha. They aren't blessed by the moon goddess and her bond. How can you expect them to be loyal to each other? Besides, we haven't seen any progress from you it. What do you expect from us?"

Yuna was wordless after the member pointed a finger at her. Only god knew how much she was trying hard to cure her pack members. She bit her lips together tightly, unable to answer since she knew who was at fault.

A woman joined them, raising her voice louder, " We understand that you are young, Alpha. But you are putting our pack on destruction. How long are you going to repay for your father's mistake? Will you succeed to revoke our curse ever? Do you think that it's easy to please the moon goddess? Look at us! All of our family are parting slowly."

The members couldn't be less agreed with their accusations. They all gossiped bad things about Yuna and her family in low voices. Just when Yuna was going to lose her anger, a voice pulled their attention back, " She will! "

Ryder announced to the noisy pack members, striding inside hurriedly. He noticed the way her pack members easily got frustrated with Yuna despite her several attempts to keep them together.

The members naturally went silent over Ryder's assurance since he was the next Alpha King of all werewolves. Yuna's rage sobered a little, letting her best friend take care of the matter again this time. Yuna knew that Ryder was always good at convincing people probably because of his gen. Squeezing past through the crowd, Ryder climbed off to the stage, standing beside Yuna to speak loudly,

" Yuna has been all her life to find the incurable curse of this pack yet you blame her? Is this how you treat your Alpha? I am sorry to say that you are disappointing her. Besides, it's not her fault that the moon goddess is angry with your pack. She hasn't even tried to build her own family because of this pack's responsibilities. Don't push her so hard that she gets fed up with you. Since you all have waited so long, why can't you wait a bit longer? Moon goddess should be born in this era. We are searching for her everywhere."

Zeke, Yuna's beta soon joined, passively defending his Alpha, " If you still don't trust your Alpha, ask someone else to take over the responsibility. She isn't obligated to take each responsibility of this pack at this young age."

The members appeared defeated under their comments. Although they weren't entirely satisfied with their current situation, going inside the pack, they all knew that it was very chaotic to hold the responsibility of a pack that couldn't find a fated mate, always ran for trouble, and lacked a powerful mate bond. Yuna had been pretty good at handling except the fact that their curse was still on their heads.

Soon the situation was under their control and the members retreated, gossiping and whispering something. The case remained unsettled because of the heated moments but Yuna knew that she had to approve it sooner or later. Yuna sighed sending a look to Ryder thankfully. Only her beta and Ryder, her best friend had been the best support in her entire life.

Ryder came over to give her an encouraging smile, " You know how impatient they are. Don't blame yourself, Yuna."

Yuna sighed, looking down at the ground blankly, " I don't blame them, Ryder. It's just...I feel useless..for not curing them so far... Families are splitting apart yet I can't do anything.."

Ryder's gaze softened on her as he pulled her into her embrace, cooing softly, " We will find her soon. She will have mercy on us definitely, Yuna."

Evening fell over Radenwood land, greeting with a happy occasion. As a representative of Raden Wolves, Yuna had to attend the Gala even though she carried cold grudges against the vampires. But their peace protocols bound her with responsibilities, leaving her no choice but to turn a blind eye on this occasion. She didn't want any new raging troubles for her pack.

Their SUV stopped sharply at 6 p.m. in front of the Gala house. Alphas and vampires found their way inside happily. It was the only occasion that werewolves and vampires joined together.

Yuna hopped down from her SUV, tugging on the uncomfortable dress that she wore today. Her stylist, Nora forced this outfit on her. A knee-length tight top with a deep neck shape, her caramel skin was in full view, a butterfly necklace glistening between her curves, everything looked amusingly perfect on her. Her curls were being straightened today to give her a different look than other times. She looked nothing less than a model in the magazine.

Ryder was waiting at the entrance to receive her from the beginning. His jaw dropped once he found her girl in a sexy outfit. He swallowed hard but his hunger was losing control.

Maybe, he could try to confess her today one more time!

Yuna joined him, looking around to ask casually, " Your father isn't here today?"

Ryder nodded blowing his cheeks out to hide his obvious look, " Yeah, he is in here with the new lord already. You haven't met him yet, have you? He is going to be officially introduced to the Alphas today."

Yuna shrugged bitterly, least interested in vampire and their rituals, " No! He was crowned only two months ago when I was on vacation. Besides, I don't care who is taking over the throne of vampires. They aren't my people."

Ryder smiled knowingly and tugged her to enter the house hand in hand.

All the attention was on Yuna as soon as she entered the crowd, people spending seconds staring at her beauty. Her walk carried the modesty and dominance that she had from her birth. Being the first female Alpha to lead a pack had never occurred before.

Some Alphas admired her truthfully but nobody dared to approach her since the curse was known by everyone. Some thought that their pack would be detested by the moon goddess if they made a bond with her. Besides, Ryder, the next Alpha King was always around her. So everyone thought that they would claim each other as their mate one day.

Yuna knew about the Alpha's intention. So she was kind of free from other worries and refrained from greeting them personally. It was always Ryder and her, chatting at a corner in every gathering.

A host of vampires announced loudly, snapping everyone's attention to the colorful stage, " Thank you Alphas for attending our ceremony today. Now, we introduce the new vampire lord of all the vampires, Kaden Reagan officially."

Yuna's wolf purred inside when the name reverberated inside her mind, giving her an unknown excitement. Yuna furrowed, trying to conceal the happiness that her wolf was having for whatever reason.

Heavy footsteps began to echo from the entrance, instantly silencing all the creatures residing inside the room as a show of respect. The new lord was here finally, spreading his kingly aura and making them all summon to him in a snap of moments.

" Hello Alphas!", that heavy voice rang around the room, causing Yuna to have goosebumps all over her body. There was something wrong with her wolf today. She was magically attracted to that certain voice without seeing the face.

Just look at him!

Her wolf rumbled but she shunned her idea, clearly not interested in vampires. Ryder noticed a slight discomfort on her face, asking with concern, " Are you okay, Yuna?"

Yuna muttered assuredly and decided to grab a few more wines to clear her thoughts. Maybe the need to start a family had started to kick her brain off. She trotted over her high heels to walk away from the crowd with Ryder following him always. He wanted to use this moment to share his feelings for her.

All that he needed was good timing!

Meanwhile, Kaden greeted the Alphas formally and mentally tried to find the Alpha from Ravenwood. He happened to hear about the last incident accidentally. One of his vampires was killed by her just because he crossed the border. Although it was settled from the beginning, Kaden expected her to act softly but No! She killed him. He met each one of them but didn't see any female ones.

Maybe, she was hiding to not face him?

Yuna had a few shots of vodka until Ryder stopped her, growling at her careless attitude. He hissed tugging her away from the crowd, " Stop making troubles here, Yuna. You haven't even greeted the new lord."

Yuna scowled stumbling a few steps to hold on to Ryder, " I don't give a fuck. He isn't us. Let's dance, Ryder. My wolf is weird today. Help me distract her."

Ryder sighed and put his arms around her, bringing her to the dance floor. The music was soothing in their background, slow and sensual. Ryder couldn't take his eyes off her. He was very unskilled with words but he could do something else..maybe. kissing her...

Unaware of Ryder's thoughts, Yuna was lost in her thoughts. Her wolf was impatient for something. It didn't like to stay with Ryder and wanted to go somewhere else but where?

Shaking away those thoughts again, Yuna looked around casually and noticed a man in a tight black suit, a few steps away from them. He had very long, dark curls and had a smugness permanently set on his face. He was chatting with Ryder's father from sideways. Unknowingly, she stared hard at the way, drinking his appearance like a fool.

Ryder didn't notice anything except her painted and craving lips. He sucked his lips dry and breathed heavily to calm his nerves.

Just kiss her and get everything fixed, Ryder! His wolf offered and he hesitated a few more moments.

Yuna had her eyes that way until the man in a black suit suddenly turned his head on her way. Their eyes connected for a few moments and sparks flickered through her heart. The word that should never come out of her mouth rolled out involuntarily, stunning the entire crowd with a growl, " MATE!"
