Chapter 1 | Breeder For The Morozov Alpha Brothers

LAIKYN GARCIA.

“Close your eyes, moonflower. Stay hidden! Protect your sister and stay hidden!”

I breathe. Or at least try to.

Mother’s wails from that night echo in my ears, rivaling the loud pounding of the drums from downstairs and my own heartbeat.

I close my eyes. Then I ingest another lungful of cloying air.

“Lake, I’m scared”, my sister whispers.

I’m scared too.

Who wouldn’t be freaking scared?

This is what we’ve prepared for, for almost a decade.

Will it be easy facing Alphas? No.

Most especially Rogues? Another big no.

But our vengeance depends on it.

“You can do this, Jade. We can do this”, I affirm holding her hand and swiping her hair from her face.

My sister gives me a small smile before she holds my hand even tighter and we make our way down the grand staircase where everyone is waiting.

Dressed in a matrimonial dress, bedazzled with the pack’s most beautiful and precious jewelry, my sister’s beauty is unmatched.

Reason number one why she is the sacrificial lamb and not me.

No alpha, beta or omega would look at me even at the age of twenty because my curves are too voluptuous, too seductive, too slutty for a Luna.

I do not have a wolf.

I do not have any scent.

And the Moon Goddess has cast her eyes away from me since I was born.

Basically, meaning that in Silver Paw pack, I’m the one they call ‘cursed’.

When we reach the foot of the stairs, our alpha, Alpha Xanthus takes my sister’s hand away from me, guiding her to the people up ahead who are waiting for her.

Our pack’s Betas walk behind Alpha Xanthus and my sister; I retreat to the crowd waiting for the official ceremony to start.

“Beta and Omegas alike, we are gathered here because we knew this day would come. We all know how the story goes. After all, this story has gone on for a millennium.

Four Alpha brothers decided to turn away from the Moon Goddess, they became rogues! They built an army of savages from across the lands and every decade they have raided villages, slaying everything and everyone.

They will raid our village today-.”

The people gasp, I roll my eyes.

We all knew our village was next.

Alpha Xanthus informed us as soon as he sensed something ‘special’ in my sister.

“But make no mistake because your Alpha will not allow this. Standing before us is Jade Garcia, twenty-one years around the sun, a powerful omega with an even more powerful wolf; blessed by the Moon Goddess herself to lead our pack out of danger. She is to be mated to the…”

My heart plucks in my ribcage long before our Alpha can finish his speech.

The air itself shifts from a mild zero to a stormy ten in a few seconds.

Alpha Xanthus redirects his gaze to the doorway.

I do the same.

Everyone does the same.

Calloused.

Tall.

Intimidating.

Inked and tattooed on their arms.

Standing side by side, hardened by the numerous wars they’ve won across the lands, the men I’ve only seen in my dreams as shadows look more real, angrier, scarier than anyone ever imagined.

The first Alpha, the one who walks into the grand hall like he owns it, swipes his thumb on his bottom lip wiping the red tinge of liquid from it.

It takes a second to process that it is… is that blood?

Dark hair, chiseled face, a powerful jaw and a body that’s built bigger than our alpha, hell bigger than any beta in here; his gaze lingers on my sister.

My heart beats with fear but also with newfound hope.

They will take my sister.

They will make her their mate.

And Jade will get vengeance for what the four men did to our parents a decade ago.

“Submit or be incinerated”, the first Morozov brother speaks and while everyone cowers to the corners, the air in my lungs almost escapes me. My eyes widen and my pulse becomes more turbulent than the storm raging in front of me.

“Alpha Echo, we are peaceful people, we do not want a war, there will be no need for bloodshed because I have found your m-mate for you”, Alpha Xanthus says but with the way he just stuttered, I don’t think anyone is buying his crap.

Especially and most especially, ‘Alpha Echo’.

Echo Morozov, that’s him, isn’t it?

“You don’t say?” The other lethal voice that splices the air in humor belongs to the second brother. Only there’s no humor written on his face.

He’s the one with a flower tattooed on the right side of his neck.

He moves away from his other two brothers, walking past Echo Morozov to where Jade and Alpha Xanthus are standing side by side.

Brown hair crisscrossed with shades of dark in it, just like his brother, his arms are veiny and if we are comparing them to my arms… well they are three times my wimpy arms.

And when his hand holds my sister’s whimpering chin, he looks like a God himself about to crush her and snap her in two.

“What is it you called us, Xan? You called us savages?”

“Alpha Vuk- “, Alpha Xanthus swallows nervously.

My legs tell me to move.

This isn’t going to end well.

Vuk Morozov continues with his galling speech all while my sister’s chin is trapped between his fingers.

“I mean no offense Xanthus, she’s a fine-looking damsel and all but no piece of ass is changing your fate. The first mistake you made is thinking we need a mate to survive. Second mistake, Xan? Thinking that a woman would mean us sparing your life.”

The ‘no offense’ insult comes out as an offense nonetheless.

He lets go of Jade’s chin and my sister?

My sister’s eyes pool with tears and then… they find me in the crowd.

She’s humiliated, I know.

She’s embarrassed, I know.

She just got rejected, let down our pack, she feels like she’s let me and our dead parents down too, I know.

But my sister makes one mistake.

She makes me the target of four Alphas who are out of patience and out for blood.

Once Vuk Morozov follows my sister’s line of sight.

Echo Morozov does the same.

The other two brothers gaze at me too.

And now all of them have their eyes on me.

I stand stork still. I try to blend in. I try not to act suspicious.

Don’t act suspicious, Laikyn.

It’s too late though.

The third brother starts moving. The fourth brother does the same.

They both move in my direction.

My people, my pack, they are traitors!

As soon as they spot the two Alphas headed in my direction, they step aside like cowering cowards leaving me as vulnerable as a newly hatched chick to the claws of the eagle flying in the skies.

Blue-green eyes, the color of muddy grass after a heavy downpour; hair as white as the ground during winter, it takes four lengthy strides for the two brothers to stand before me.

The one with white hair and blue-green eyes pins me hard with a curious glare.

The other brother moves too fast for me to see where he is going but a second later I feel his body heat tingling my back and I bite my bottom lip hard.

Trapped.

Completely and utterly…

“Maluk vulk.”

I have no idea what he just said.

Whether it’s the old language of the lands or my own language too washed out by the thrumming of my heart for me to understand, the brothers don’t give me a chance to think or breathe.

One of them hugs my back, sniffing my neck.

The other one?

He grasps my chin and clashes my lips with his.

Goddess.

“Riot. Nikolai. Stay back”, Echo’s voice bellows or is it Vuk or is it Alpha Xanthus… I can’t tell who’s talking.

Not with the kiss that leaves me hot and needy, an instant heat crawling up my body and every nerve in me feeling like it’s on fire.

He doesn’t just kiss me.

He drives his tongue into my mouth and takes charge. Every stroke, every growl leaving his lips, an assault to my swollen and inexperienced lips.

His mouth possesses mine, the man behind me grinds his hips against my ass, a set of two hands on my neck and another set of hands on my waist; they don’t hold me because they want to, they hold me as if they need me.

Desperately.

“Mate”, a low snarl rumbles in the cloying air and my thoughts come crashing down like a tsunami sent to eradicate everything in its wake.

Reality courses through my mind as the absurdity happening with men I vowed to kill since I was ten flashes before my eyes.

Mate?

I’m not their mate.

Chapter 2 | Breeder For The Morozov Alpha Brothers

RIOT MOROZOV.

We were promised blood.

No talks, no negotiations, just bloody war the way my wolf and I crave it.

Instead…

‘Have her. Want her.’

Rykker growls inside me and for the first time in my life, I might just have to agree with my wolf on that.

The little thing in my hands, pushes at my chest, prying her lips away from me.

Her chest moves up and down while she tries to pace her breathing and that’s the last thing I see before her hand comes crashing over me with a slap.

Does the slap do nothing to dent my skin? Sure. But touching me? That’s a whole lot of different for an omega.

An omega with no wolf on her and a scent that reeks in the air, it’s hard not to smell it.

It’s all I could smell since I got here and Xanthus started running his bullshit speech about mates.

Turns out it might not be nonsense after all.

She gets away from Nikolai too.

Scared, petrified, angry.

An abomination.

A weakling.

A woman who shouldn’t exist and she doesn’t know why yet.

“S-stay back!”

She holds her hands up like it will stop us from taking her.

Granted, Nikolai and I don’t move.

I don’t think Vuk and Echo are moving too while they breathe her in.

The only fool who decides to move is Xanthus Silver.

“I offered you something better to stop all this bloodshed. If you won’t have Jade Garcia as your mate then-.”

That’s the kind of talking that makes me want to rip the man holding the little thing’s shoulders in his hands like she’s his after I just fucking kissed her to confirm what my brothers and I already know.

“Her. We’ll have her instead”, Nikolai cuts Xanthus off with a twitch in his jaw.

I’d be amused at Niko’s reaction if the same confusion and yearning wasn’t coursing through my veins at the woman in Xanthus Silver’s arms gazing at us like we crawled out of hell to soil her nightmares.

“T-That’s out of question. She’s not part of the deal. I’m offering you Jade Garcia, not her sister.”

The broad by the altar in the ugly dress is her sister?

Well, things just got a whole lot more interesting.

“Semantics. A woman is a woman no less. You give her to us and you keep your territory, your pack, your life”, I warn.

Vuk and Echo are still silent.

They are processing. Her existence is something we never saw coming.

“Why do you want her? You can have anyone.”

Not that I owe the bastard any answers but I speak plainly for the little thing still listening.

“And yet no one can have all of us. No one has been able to anyway until her. She’s no mate of ours make no mistake but if she can handle us, she can sure as fuck handle carrying our pups inside her.”

She smells like it. She looks like it.

Xanthus takes the hint.

“She is not your mate.”

“Because she is yours? Come on, Xan, I’ve known you for too long to actually believe you are defending her out of the goodness of that big heart you have. You think she’s your mate, don’t you?”

And it will feel even better taking her away from his hands because the ‘mighty Alpha Xanthus’ owes us his life.

“No one is taking her anywhere.”

Xanthus says.

But Vuk is already way ahead when he bellows, “Enough! Come here, lotus flower.”

The lotus flower in question speaks up and she does the one thing no omega has ever done.

“No.”

She says no to an Alpha. A little wildcat is what she is.

Vuk looks like he’s about to pop a vein.

Nikolai cuts through the ice, “It takes less than a minute to annihilate everyone here. And a minute if we are going to tear apart your sister. Jade, you called her? I wonder how she screams when-.”

Her face pales.

“S-stop. I-I’ll come. I’ll come just don’t hurt my sister.”

“Lake, you don’t have to-“, Xanthus grabs her hand. Xanthus puts his hand on her.

“Reject him”, the words fly out of my mouth with every bit of laced acidity in my body.

“What?”

“You heard me, little one. Reject him, make him understand who you are when you step out of here, tell him who you belong to and who’s gonna fill you with pups come the next few months.”

Say your pretty little name out loud.

“Alpha Xanthus is not my mate. I- I have agreed to come with you.”

And it’s not enough if she’s still calling him her alpha.

I don’t answer her. The glare I’m giving her is enough to make her do as I say.

“I, Laikyn Garcia, omega to Silver Paw pack, reject you, Xanthus Silver, Alpha of the Silver Paw pack as my mate. I—I belong to them.”

Laikyn. Just like I thought. A pretty name. A delicate one like she is.

“Them who?” Vuk chastises.

She swallows the bitterness.

“I belong t-to the Morozov brothers and I will carry their pups.”

Stoic, hella brave, she pries her hand from Xanthus walking right to the one man who hasn’t spoken since we discovered the truth.

She walks to Echo.

A second later Echo orders her to say her goodbyes to whoever she wants to because it’s the last time she’ll see them.

I’ll never forget the look on her face when she asks my brother for a favor.

“Promise me once I leave with you, no one will get hurt.”

“I promise”, Echo lies and the sweet thing believes him.

Everyone will live but Xanthus? That’s a different story altogether.

After all, he’s one of the reasons why we are the way we are today.

XxX

“Impossible, we have searched for her. We were told she was dead!” Echo roars.

The spiffy night air gets more tense as we stand by our trucks each one of us fighting demons and the truth.

The truth is in the curvy brunette with blue eyes and lips that taste like they’ve been marinating in my damnation for eons.

“What’s taking her so long?” Nikolai asks ignoring Echo.

“That doesn’t look dead to me”, I chime in.

“Did you confirm it?” Vuk asks.

“I don’t have to confirm anything because we are all losing our minds right now. Rykker feels it and your wolves feel it too, don’t they?”

“She’s taking a lot of time to say goodbye. We should have killed them all starting with the sister.”

At this point, I don’t even think Nikolai is in the conversation.

Echo is fuming.

Vuk is… unsure.

I’m the one with my head still screwed on straight.

Laikyn Garcia appears five minutes later, walking out of the mansion with her cheeks wet, her hate for us written on her face and her scent flying its way to where we all stand.

“Whether she is our mate or not will depend on Dom. If he doesn’t have a connection with her, he will-.”

“Tear her apart”, I finish Vuk’s statement.

“We won’t let Dom do anything to her, mate or not. We’ll protect her”, Nikolai adds.

“If she’s not our mate, what use does she have then?” Echo asks Nikolai.

“We stick to what we said. She carries our pups.”

Screw Dom.
