Divorce Made Me Rich, Famous, and Free
Synopsis
Vivienne Snow’s wealthy husband and his mistress ended up in the hospital after a bedroom accident—only to be treated by none other than his legal wife, Vivienne herself. The next day, she demanded a divorce. And one billion in compensation. Otherwise, she’d expose him and his little sidepiece to the world. Her husband Devin West’s response was ice-cold: “Fine, we can get divorced. But you leave with nothing. And if you walk away now, you’ll never see your son again.” Vivienne didn’t hesitate. “Deal. I don’t want the kid.” A son who clings to his father’s mistress, calling her “Mom”? Versus a billion dollars? She knew which one was worth keeping. At first, Devin thought Vivienne was just being dramatic. She’d come crawling back like she always did, begging for his forgiveness. But instead, she turned around and became a legend in the medical world—more stunning and successful than ever. Meanwhile, his life—and their son’s—was falling apart. Chaos at home. Problems everywhere. Finally, convinced that an apology would bring her back, Devin showed up at her door. But the one who answered wasn’t Vivienne but Lucien Dragne, the wealthiest man in the country. “Hey you, Ex-husband,” Lucien smirked. “Stop bothering My wife.” * Lucien Dragne had been in love with Vivienne for years. He followed her every achievement, quietly watching from afar. The moment she got divorced, he didn’t waste a second. Now, he stuck to her like glue: “Mrs. Dragne, you’re breathtaking!” “Mrs. Dragne, you’re amazing!” “Mrs. Dragne, I’ll love you forever!”

Late at night, in the hospital.
Vivienne Snow had just taken off her white coat when a flushed young nurse rushed into the office.
“Dr. Snow, it’s bad! Two emergency patients just arrived—you need to check on them immediately!”
“Two patients? You expect me to handle both at once?”
Vivienne frowned.
The nurse looked embarrassed, but there was a clear glint of gossip in her eyes.
“Oh, well… they’re a couple. Apparently, they used some kind of new lubricant in bed… and, well, they got stuck together... They’ve been separated now, but the lubricant seems to have caused some side effects. You need to check on them to see if there’ll be any lasting consequences.”
“These young people these days…”Vivienne muttered as she took the medical report from the nurse. Seeing the familiar name on the file, she chuckled lightly. What a common name.
But the moment she reached the hospital room and heard the familiar voice inside, her entire body went stiff.
“Devin, this is amazing.” A woman’s voice, soft and sweet, dripping with honey.
Vivienne’s face froze. That voice… it belonged to Riley Hart, Devin’s personal assistant.
Inside, her husband, Devin West, was lying in the hospital bed, openly flirting with his assistant. “I told you not to mess around with those experimental products from the lab, let alone DIY the lubricant. Look at the trouble you’ve caused me.”
Riley giggled, sticking out her tongue. “But you liked it, didn’t you? It was fun!”
Listening to their shameless conversation, Vivienne felt ice creeping through her veins.
Five years ago, when she and Devin had just gotten married, they were madly in love. But then Devin was suddenly called away for a classified research mission overseas.
Not long after, she found out she was pregnant. But because of the secrecy surrounding Devin’s work, she had no way to contact him—only to wait.
She devoted herself to taking care of their child and his parents, eagerly anticipating his return. She had imagined their reunion a thousand times… but never like this.
At that moment, she saw a small figure rushing toward the room, surrounded by bodyguards.
Vivienne’s heart softened.
At least she still had her son. He must be here to take her home.
She reached up to remove her mask, ready to scoop her son into her arms—
But the child ran straight past her, and pushed open the hospital room door.
“Pretty Mommy!”
Riley let out a helpless laugh. “Sweetie, it’s too early to call me that.”
Devin smirked. “Kids are honest. If he wants to call you that, let him.”
Danny West beamed. “Yeah, that old hag is always nagging me, making me study all the time. She doesn’t deserve to be my mom! Auntie Riley is so gentle and pretty, and she always gives me little gifts. She should be my mom.”
Vivienne’s heart shattered at her son’s words.
Taking a deep breath, she stepped into the room.
The first thing she saw was Devin and Riley, snuggled up in the same hospital bed like a loving couple.
The second thing she saw was her son, nestled in Riley’s arms. To anyone looking in, they looked like a perfect family of three.
“Vivienne?”
Devin was the first to notice her. He paused briefly before his elegant face twisted into a look of cold disdain.
“You must’ve been eavesdropping on my call with my mom. That’s disgusting.”
Vivienne inhaled sharply, forcing down the suffocating pain in her chest. Her voice was icy. “I wasn’t eavesdropping. I’m your attending physician.”
A flash of contempt crossed Devin’s eyes.
“You? A doctor? Don’t tell me you think you’re better at medicine than Riley. My parents were the ones who got you that job in the first place.”
Riley smiled shyly. “Devin, don’t be so hard on her. Maybe she just got bored and decided to play doctor.”
Vivienne remained expressionless. “If you’re not satisfied, you’re welcome to request a different doctor.”
“Good. I want a different doctor.” Devin didn’t hesitate.
Vivienne lowered her gaze. “Then make the request yourself. And do it quickly—otherwise, it might be too late.”
Devin’s face turned pale. “Are you cursing me?!”
Riley smirked. “Vivienne, I know Devin’s body better than anyone. You’re just jealous because you can’t have him.”
Vivienne raised a brow, her voice dripping with indifference. “A rotten cucumber isn’t even worth picking up off the ground. If you want it, it’s all yours.”
Riley’s face darkened, and Devin’s expression twisted in rage. “Vivienne, who the hell are you calling a rotten cucumber?!”
“Whoever responds, I guess.”
Without sparing them another glance, Vivienne turned and walked away.
Devin was livid. He tried to get out of bed to chase after her, but the moment he moved, a sharp pain in a very sensitive area made him freeze in place. All he could do was sit there and curse. “Who taught her to be so vulgar?! How did I ever fall for a woman like that?!”
“Daddy, Mommy was so mean! How could she say that to you?” Danny piped up, glaring after Vivienne.
Riley sighed. “She’s been hanging around too many men at work. Maybe that’s where she picked up such crude language.”
Devin gritted his teeth against the pain, forcing himself to focus on the bigger issue. Fortunately, the research lab had a working relationship with this hospital. He immediately called the hospital director.
“Mr. West, I reviewed your case. Currently, the top specialist in this field is Dr. Snow. My recommendation—”
“Did she tell you to say that?” Devin cut him off.
“Huh?” The director was dumbfounded. “Dr. Snow hasn’t said a word.”
“Get rid of her.”
The director sighed. He didn’t understand, but he still complied. After all, Devin’s family had connections with both the research institute and the hospital.
It was a pity, though. Cases like Devin’s were rare, and if not for his status, he never would’ve been able to get an appointment with Dr. Snow in the first place.
Vivienne changed into her regular clothes and had just stepped out of the hospital when her phone rang. It was her mother-in-law.
“Vivienne! Who the hell gave you permission to go cause trouble at Devin’s hospital room?! Get back home now! Stop embarrassing yourself!”
The sharp, angry voice screeched through the phone.
Vivienne chuckled coldly. “The one embarrassing themselves is Devin.”
Her mother-in-law snapped, “Back in the old days, men had several wives or four concubines! Devin is young, successful, and handsome—of course women would throw themselves at him! Why don’t you blame yourself for not keeping his heart?”
Her father-in-law’s voice came through next, slightly more restrained. “Vivienne, what Devin did was wrong, but you’re still part of this family. There’s no need to make a big scene out of this. Your family only has you left—don’t you think you should rely on us? Vivienne, calm...”
“There’s no need. I want a divorce.”

After saying her piece, Vivienne Snow hung up the phone. Her heart ached so much it felt like it was bleeding, but her mind gradually became clearer.
Everyone in the West family had obviously known about Devin’s affair. And not only did they cover for him, but from the way they spoke, it was clear they had known all along.
Yet, they had tricked her—made her willingly devote herself to their family for years.
She wouldn’t let any of them off the hook.
Instead of returning to the West estate, Vivienne went to a small two-bedroom apartment.
After her family’s business went bankrupt, this was all that was left—the only thing her parents had left behind for her.
She punched in the familiar security code, stepping inside and switching on the warm yellow lights.
The room was filled with soft pink decor, radiating a cozy, girlish atmosphere. Vivienne loved pink—so much that her parents had designed this entire apartment just for her.
Devin had been here once. He didn’t even step inside before turning his nose up at it, saying she was too much.
After that, she never brought him here again.
And once their child was born, she was too busy taking care of his parents and their son to come back at all.
Lying in bed after a quick tidying up, Vivienne had a restless night.
In her dreams, she saw every beautiful moment she had once shared with Devin. And every piece of evidence of his betrayal. She also dreamed of her passed away parents, holding her and crying. Tears flowed uncontrollably.
By the time she woke up, her pillow was soaked.
Vivienne wiped her red, swollen eyes and forced herself to pull it together. For once, she put on a full face of makeup. Then, she went to the law firm.
With the divorce agreement in hand, she headed straight for the hospital—only to run into Devin’s mother, who had just arrived to visit her son.
Seeing her, Mrs. West scoffed through her nose. “Where the hell were you last night? Finally remembered to check on Devin?”
Before Vivienne could respond, she sneered arrogantly. “Let me tell you something—I remember exactly what you said yesterday. As soon as Devin is discharged, the first thing he’s doing is divorcing you!”
“You can forget about getting custody of Danny. And don’t even think about touching the West family’s assets. Devin has nothing under his name—you’ll be leaving with nothing.”
“Even if you regret it now, it’s too late. You two have been living separately for five years. The divorce can go through anytime, so stop trying to cling to our family.”
Vivienne felt a sharp stab in her chest.
The West family was not lacking in money. In fact, they were incredibly wealthy. Originally in real estate, they had supported their son pivoting to pharmaceuticals just as the industry was booming. They caught every wave at the right time, amassing a fortune worth over ten billion dollars.
And yet, despite all that wealth, they calculated every penny when it came to her. They treated her like a free maid, never letting her spend a dime, not even on a single luxury handbag.
How pathetic that she had put up with it for so many years.
All because she trusted Devin. She believed her own son would stand by her side. She thought that if she endured long enough, things would get better.
Now, she was completely awake. Her heart felt eerily calm as she pulled out a brown envelope and handed it to Mrs. West.
“Since you’re already here, pass this divorce agreement to Devin for me.”
“You’re this cooperative?”
Mrs. West hesitated before taking it. She flipped through the documents—Then, her pupils shrank, and the thermos of chicken soup in her hand slipped to the floor, spilling everywhere.
“Vivienne, HOW DARE YOU?!”
“This is ONE BILLION DOLLARS!”
Her voice was so loud that people around them turned to look. Vivienne remained unbothered. “Either Devin signs the agreement and divorces me immediately, or I release every piece of evidence of his affair to the public. I can start uploading them right now, if you’d prefer.”
Mrs. West gritted her teeth. “Don’t push your luck! Don’t forget who you are. At most, I’ll give you a hundred grand!”
Vivienne chuckled. “I’ve already scheduled the post—it’ll go live at exactly four o’clock this afternoon. If your family doesn’t care about your reputation, then don’t bother showing up at the Civil Affairs Bureau.”
With that, she turned and walked away without a backward glance. Mrs. West was left stomping her feet in rage amidst the mess.
Mrs. West entered the hospital room with a grim expression.
Danny had spent the night here. Seeing her, he immediately ran over.
“Grandma, did you bring me anything good to eat?”
Mrs. West snapped, “Forget about eating. Get out. The bodyguards will take you somewhere else.”
Danny was quickly escorted out, and Devin frowned at his mother’s expression.
“Mom, what’s wrong?”
SMACK!
A slap landed hard right across Devin's--Devin's assistant Riley’s face.
“You slut! Look at the mess you’ve caused!”
Riley’s cheek turned bright red instantly.
Devin quickly stepped in front of her, frowning. “Mom, what are you doing?”
Mrs. West shoved the divorce agreement in his face.
“Vivienne wants a divorce. And she’s demanding one billion dollars. She said if you don’t sign, she’s going to ruin your reputation. Do you have to be so reckless?! Did you really have to end up in the hospital where the media could snap photos?!”
Devin’s expression darkened, “She actually dared to demand one billion?”
Mrs. West was livid. “We only married her because we knew her background. And because you liked her. Who knew she was just a greedy little gold-digger?!” She didn’t dare scold Devin directly, so she turned her glare on Riley.
Devin’s face twisted into a cold sneer.“She doesn’t actually want a divorce. She’s asking for an outrageous amount, hoping we’ll back down.”
“She’s bluffing. I’ll call her.” He took out his phone and dialed her number. No answer. His face darkened.
Mrs. West huffed. “Forget it. That bitch just wants to cling to you. From now on, we’ll just pretend she doesn’t exist. She’s only doing this to get you to stay. Just sweet-talk her a little, and she won’t release anything.”
Mrs. West was confident. Just like her son, she believed Vivienne’s one-billion-dollar demand was just a desperate attempt to stay in the West family.
But Devin’s expression turned ice-cold. “Mom, I can’t stand being with her for one more day. The thought of coaxing her makes me sick. I’d rather give her a billion just to get rid of her.”
Mrs. West gasped, "this is one billion dollars! I’d rather throw it into the river than give it to her.” She shot a sharp look at Riley, who flinched under her gaze.
Riley’s mind raced. She knew that if she didn’t act now, her future in the West family would be very difficult.
“Don’t worry, Auntie,” she said sweetly. “I have a plan to get that money back.”
*
Four O’Clock, In The Afternoon, Civil Affairs Bureau.
Vivienne arrived early. She stood outside all afternoon, watching countless couples walk in hand in hand—some nervous, some excited. When they walked out, they had their red marriage certificates in hand, beaming with joy.
Once upon a time, she and Devin had been the same. She had walked in, believing they would love each other for a lifetime.
What a joke.
“Vivienne?”
A low, magnetic voice suddenly spoke her name. It was soft—yet strangely familiar.
She looked up—And saw a luxury car with a license plate of six eights pull up. The car door opened, and a tall, imposing figure stepped out.
The man was dressed in an impeccably tailored black suit, his height towering over 6’3". His hair was cropped short, an ordinary buzz cut—But his sharp, refined features made it look effortlessly striking.A deep, inch-long scar crossed his forehead, a mark that hinted at a once-life-threatening wound.Vivienne instantly knew—this was no ordinary man.
His car alone was worth a fortune. His Kiton suit, custom-made by a top-tier designer, bore the signature embroidery of the brand’s chief tailor. The outfit alone was easily seven figures. There was no doubt about it—this man was loaded.
But why… did he know her? “You are…?” Vivienne asked blankly.
