Chapter 1 - Prologue | EKA: Tale of a Wounded Heart 4

Iker walked into the hotel looking around and making sure that the paparazzi was not around as he walked in to meet his sexy lover of years. His children followed. Avadh has planned a huge party in honor of his sons-in-law. Iker sighed as he saw Avadh and rushed to his man. Even after almost 28 years together, an hour away from him was hard for Iker.

Avadh held his feisty lover and kissed him hard.

"Ew, can you two please stop," scowled Jeet and squealed when he saw the theme of the event. He adored magical themes.

-------------

"I am skinning you if we are late. I can't imagine how to begin apologizing to Baba," scowled Samuel.

Magnus nodded, both throwing dirty looks to Ilyes who scowled.

"Baba will understand, just stop threatening our kid," said Carles fondly.

Samuel looked at his three months pregnant husband and kept his mouth shut after that. Arth was asleep on Magnus' arms and Jana's head was resting on the man's shoulder. Carles sat comfortably with Jeev and Clement balancing him from both sides. Ilyes sat in the front.

--------------------

They reached the hotel and were careful not to land in front of the paparazzi and went in. Iker hugged them all as he greeted them. Avadh and Iker looked happily at Carles who now had a small bulge.

Jeev looked at Clement.

"I think it is Ivory- I will just take this to him," said Clement lifting the package of special weapons from the northern pack which Ivory asked for. Jeev raised an eyebrow at him. Clement faltered.

"Nothing too dangerous I promise," said Clement and dropped a kiss on Jeev's forehead. Ivory rushed to them and hugged them both and then Clement gave the parcel.

"I hope it is nothing dangerous, Clement," said Magnus warningly.

Ivory scowled.

"I am not a kid you realize brother," said Ivory.

Magnus gave him a look which made him scowl.

"Okay, Okay, It is nothing dangerous. Don't go all scary Alpha on me," said Ivory almost pouting as he stormed off.

"It is just a special edged knife, I swear," said Clement to Iker who sighed and nodded.

Avadh grabbed Clement and was asking him more about the weapon which he elaborated. Jeev followed. Things were still new between the couple and everyone stayed out of it. They would let them sort it out.

---------

Magnus cast a worried glance at Kanwar.

"Is his health good?" Magnus asked Pran who adored his brothers-in-law.

"No, he tries to not show it, but he tries to not show it. We are at a loss as to what to do," said Pran.

Avadh turned and looked at Magnus and Samuel, which meant there was something he needed to talk with the three of them, so they got to him.

"See, I want you all to stay with us for the next couple of months as I told you. Things are not well in the borders and Kanwar is not well," said Avadh.

"Don't worry Baba we will be here. Myrkovir has agreed to have the pack over. Uncle Ethan has set everything," said Magnus.

"Baba, we have to also discuss the possibilities of getting Eka and Kanwar together. They can't go on like this," said Samuel casting a worried glance at Kanwar who was talking to Atrey.

"I know, maybe it's time we spoke to Eka," said Avadh.

---------------

"So, How are things between you and Clement?" asked Iker worried. Avadh was looking at them which meant his Baba was also involved in the question.

Jeev glanced at Clement who was tying Jeet's long hair.

"He is very nice. We go out together sometimes when he is on pack duty. He is funny too, makes me laugh all the time. He is also the third child in the family," said Jeev fondly. Clement felt eyes on him and turned. He blew a kiss to Jeev who groaned.

"See," said Jeev blushing as he looked at Iker who was sharing a look with Avadh.

"Agh, stop making eyes at each other. I am fine," said Jeev placing his arm around Iker. Avadh walked over.

Jeev smiled as he hugged Baba. "He is wonderful, you both have nothing to worry about," said Jeev.

"Now, We worry about him too, should we be concerned?" asked Iker.

Avadh nodded.

"I am trying. I want to," said Jeev.

Both parents nodded.

Clement who was a bit closer picked it up with his extra powerful werewolf hearing, one of his many of powers, and felt a rush of affection for them both.

--------------------

Jeev looked around when it was time for dinner and Clement was not around. Then he saw the man playing with the kids in the game room. The kids have all had food.

"Come-on, you need to have dinner now," said Jeev. Clement turned.

"Okay, let's go," said Clement and got out. Jeev gripped Clement's hand tightly as they crossed the hall full of unfamiliar people into the family territory.

Clement liked it when Jeev took his arms. He always feels wanted and needed when that happens. They have rarely spoken much. They would spend day in- day out talking about others, pack, favorite stuff but never about themselves. Jeev laughs at all the jokes Clement cracks because he enjoys them. He loves the funny side of his mate.

"Aw hold on my princess, no one shall reach you past me," said Clement. Jeev blushed and swatted on his arm smiling.

Kanwar had to leave halfway with his brothers due to an issue in the border. Clement went with them as Magnus and Samuel decided to get the family back to the palace safely.

They joined the battle that raged in the borders and it was horrific. Kanwar was drained. Samuel saw the moment Kanwar fell. He and Magnus reached in time and got him to the safety of the palace before going back to the fight.

Kanwar struggled to breathe and as he laid there when the healers moved around him, he could only remember his mate's face and the family they never had.

Chapter 2 – Eka De Russe | EKA: Tale of a Wounded Heart 4

Eka sat up. He was sweating badly. His parents and Evan were at uncle's party for the brother in law's. He had wanted to go. He looked at the letter he kept on his bedside.

Eka looked at his King's writing. He could feel it. His King was in danger. He had been in danger in the past and he always had his dad or brother to send after him. If he was in danger when all of them were present, it only meant one thing.

Eka got up from the bed. He can't let his man die. He ran out and his wolf rushed through the woods and past the boundaries into the palace. He could feel it, the hold of his King, barely there.

He had been scared of going back. What if he got hurt again? King had been his world! Then, suddenly, he just stopped being Eka's. Eka never got an explanation, a closure, nothing. The King had been apologizing for years. He couldn't bring himself to trust him again. He was not sure how the man would protect his heart when he had shattered it into a million pieces once. What if he chose someone to be on the side. Eka did not want to be a liability or a second option.

Finding out that the King is his Alpha was a shock. He always knew he cared for the man in an unusual way. But to find out that he is the mate after being torn into half and thrown away like trash for other Alpha's to bully, to molest and to taunt, Eka had been shocked and cynical of the goddesses choice for him.

But he slowly forgave his King. The man confessed all his thoughts and actions in each of their letters. Yet, Eka couldn't make himself believe that it was all real and that those two years of his life had just been a nightmare.

He hated his King for so long, resented him too. Kannu was supposed to be his. Just his. Eka's. He was Eka's everything from the moment they met at Myrkovir back when they were four.

Eka reached the palace door. He had left here long ago and now here he was. He is the Luna of the royal pack and he will have to claim it. He ran in and into the healer's room. He saw his Alpha laid out in the healing bed. The man has grown. The boy has grown would be the right usage. They were both boys and now his King looked out of the world. He exuded power even when asleep.

Eka felt an arm around him stopping him. It was uncle Iker. He was crying. Was he angry at Eka and did not want him to see his King. Eka tried to comprehend what was happening when he felt Uncle Avadh hugging him. They were both holding him as if protecting him from something terrible.

"Let me get to King," said Eka.

"There is nothing you can do now son," said Avadh.

"He is gone," sobbed Iker.

Eka tried to comprehend what they were saying. Were they saying that King left? That King left without Eka? He wouldn't. He could still feel his King, the tug.

But he could also see, even when a layer of tears made his vision glassy that the King was not moving.

"He is not. I can feel it. He won't, not without me," said Eka.

"Prince Eka is right, your highness. The King is in a comatose state. But, he will pass soon," said the Healer.

Eka rushed to his King's side. Eka had been punishing him. He was hurting him. He wanted King to have a taste of being ignored and kept at bay like a stranger and then the routine set in and he was too scared to change it. To welcome his King back or to walk back into his life.

Eka saw the blue marks and slowly ran his hand through them. They vanished slowly. He moved the hair out of his face and just looked at him.

He knew what he has to do now. Eka turned to Ethan who came running.

"Offer me to him," said Eka looking at his dad.

Ethan looked at him just to check if he was sure. Otherwise, they still could come up with something to save Kanwar.

Ethan wanted to save both his kids. His son and his nephew and knew this would be the right thing to do. He got Eka's arm and went over to where Kanwar was. Ethan's hand shivered a bit as he took his nephew's arm whom he considered nothing less than a son.

"I Ethan De Russe is hereby offering my oldest son Ekansh De Russe to Kanwar De Russe Alwar, the King of Manowar. May your soul, heart and mind be one today always and in eternity," said Ethan joining their hands and there was a light and then Eka slumped forward and Ethan caught him and took him in his arms and laid him next to his -

Ethan looked at Kanwar. Sure enough, Kanwar's soul was responding. He saw the lights merge and then he heard the wolves howl in and around the land and the woods. He saw Avadh and Iker hugging each other tightly. He saw the whole family cry in relief. He turned back and looked at his son in law and then up at Atrey who stood by his side.

They together laid Eka next to his now-husband and the power surrounding them reached out and entwined, blessing them and the union. The last step would be complete only when a conscious Kanwar finished the ritual, but now, they are indeed joined in holy matrimony which appeased the powers pulling life from Kanwar.

Eka curled into the King whose hand wound around his omega mate and husband.
