"Hey, isn't that Lavinia?"

"Yeah, that's her. I didn't expect her to come here to attend Casimir's funeral. She just fears no trouble from the Sterling family, does she?"

"Heh... She's surely fearless. She's Mrs. Biltmore now, so who would dare to hurt her?"

"She's Mrs. Biltmore? That's bullshit. Look at who is standing next to Mr. Percival. Isolde is his woman now!"

"Haha, this is going to be interesting. She killed Rosalind, Percival's first love. If it weren't for the fact that Casimir pressured him with everything he could do, how could Percival possibly have married her? Now that Casimir is dead, Percival will no longer have any scruples, and it will be just a piece of cake for him to kill her!"

At the sorrowful funeral, all the guests were staring at Lavinia Thornton with gossipy looks in their eyes as if they were waiting for a good show.

With a white rose in her hand, Lavinia calmly walked over to Casimir Biltmore's coffin. She looked at the old man in the coffin with sadness in her eyes.

"Casimir, thank you for what you've done for me. I'll never forget about your great care. Rest in peace now."

She bowed more sincerely than everyone else. After she placed her white rose on the table, she turned around and walked over to Percival Biltmore, the leading one of his family.

The guests who were ready to watch the fun on the side got excited right away.

They stared closely as she approached him.

Percival looked at her with indifferent eyes. He frowned slightly while sizing her up. "It's been a few months. How could you be so chubby now?"

Lavinia was wearing a heavy knee-length down jacket, which kept her warm all over but also made her look quite bloated. She didn't have any makeup on, but her tender and fair face was pleasing to the eye.

She smiled faintly, revealing her lovely dimples. "Yeah, it's been a few months, and you're a bit skinny now. Is it because you were busy with taking care of Casimir?"

Percival pursed his lips heavily. He knew that she was blaming him for not telling her that Casimir was seriously ill.

He frowned harder. "That's none of your business!"

Lavinia smiled expressionlessly before she looked over at Isolde Sterling, who was standing next to Percival.

Seeing that Lavinia was looking at her, Isolde immediately wrapped her arm around Percival's and raised her eyebrows at Lavinia with a sense of provocation.

Lavinia smiled self-mockingly. She looked down and opened her bag before retrieving a file. She took out two documents and handed them to Percival.

Looking at the documents, Percival asked in a low voice, "What's this?"

Lavinia gently smiled. "It's the divorce paper!"

Percival was stunned. She didn't expect Lavinia to be so bold to ask for a divorce.

She had killed Rosalind Sterling. Although he had failed to get the evidence and couldn't put charges on her, the entire Sterling family wished to have her dead to avenge Rosalind. During that year, the Sterling family had joined hands with some other families to take revenge, which made the Thornton family go downhill. Percival just couldn't figure out how Lavinia could be so bold to ask for a divorce from him now.

Once she was no longer Mrs. Biltmore, she would not make it for a second in Emerald Haven.

Lavinia smiled brighter upon seeing his gloomy face. "Percival, I'm well aware that you hate me the most and can't wait to end me. You were just listening to your grandpa's order to marry me. Now that he has passed away, I'm setting you free and offering you the chance to avenge Rosalind."

"Lavinia!"

Percival gnashed his teeth hard with great fury in his deep eyes. "Go home now. This is Grandpa's funeral. We'll talk about the divorce after everything here is done!"

"Hmm?"

Lavinia was slightly stunned as she dazedly stared at Percival, who was furious. However, she mischievously laughed out loud. "Shouldn't you be divorcing me right after Casimir passed away? What's happening now? Do you not bear to part with me? Could it be that... you're in love with me?"

"Lavinia!"

Percival shouted angrily as he reached out to snatch the divorce paper in Lavinia's hand.

Without sparing a glance at the divorce paper, he took out his pen and signed his name on the last page furiously.

Smack! Percival threw the document at Lavinia's face hard and then said indifferently, "Get lost now!"

Lavinia reached out to grab the divorce paper that was about to drop to the ground. She looked down and checked the signature on the last page before she smiled with satisfaction. After that, she put the document away.

She looked up again. When she saw Percival's utterly furious gaze, she tilted her head and smiled brightly. "Thank you."

With that, she turned around to leave while everyone was watching her.

Looking at her back, Percival showed a cruel smile on his face.

He was wondering, 'She's divorcing me?

'Heh...

'I'd love to see how many days Lavinia will get to hold on in Emerald Haven after divorcing me!

'When she can no longer take it and come back to beg for my forgiveness, I'll make her regret divorcing me and kill her!'

After the trivial trouble, the funeral proceeded smoothly.

All the guests paid their respects, and then the coffin was buried in the soil.

When it was late at night, Percival was sitting on the sofa in the Biltmores' Villa. He pinched his nose bridge hard when his assistant Liam Davis walked over and put a certificate on the coffee table.

"It's from Mrs... I'm sorry. It's from Ms. Thornton."

Percival glanced at the certificate. It hurt him when he saw the word "Divorce" on it. Agitated, he closed his eyes and remained silent.

Liam stood there for a while. Since Percival wasn't giving him any instructions, he turned around and left.

Right after he just left, Percival opened his eyes with a deep look in them. With a deep frown on his face, he stared at the divorce certificate on the coffee table without blinking.

He thought, 'Lavinia just couldn't wait, could she? I just signed the paper, and then she got the divorce certificate done.

At the thought of that, he grabbed his phone and dialed a number.

"Ethan, find out where Lavinia is and keep an eye on her. Keep her away from the Sterling family and the ones who try to take this opportunity to hurt her. Only I get to end her!"

After hanging up the phone, he stood up and walked into the bathroom with ease.

Percival was awakened by his phone ringing at 7 a.m. He got up and took it. When he saw the caller ID, he unlocked his phone to answer the call.

Ethan's cautious tone came from the receiver. "Mr. Biltmore, I tried to investigate it for an entire night, but I still failed to find out where Lavinia is. I've searched every place she would possibly show up, and I even checked all the traffic monitoring footage in Emerald Haven. She's missing. It's like she has disappeared after she left the funeral!"

"She's missing?"

Percival went mad. "It's just been a day, and you're telling me that she's missing? How could you be so incapable?"

Ethan was so startled that he held his breath, not daring to say anything.

A short while later, Percival took a deep breath and said in a harsh voice, "Find her! Search all the places in Emerald Haven and find her! If something wrong happens to her before she's found, I'll end you as well!"
