Chapter 1 | Lailah: The Milestone

"How unruly fate is…" she breathed the words out as though she would hide them even from the lapping waves of the sea ahead of her.

She was barefoot, and her eyes were locked on the sea. She was looking as though she were expecting something to happen at any moment.

The waves of the sea were tumbling over one another, and she could count their foamy crests as they passed. She used to ride on their wings before the curse and her banishment.

"…to snatch my lover away from me," she added. She took two steps closer to the sea. She wasn't close enough to have the waves touch her legs.

She went to her knees and folded her arms over her large boobs.

She felt very hot and itchy under her pink gown. She needed sex. She needed someone to have sex with.

She couldn't make a man appear out of thin air, but she could control whatever man she laid her eyes on.

She was searching very intently, but there was nobody in sight.

She would have to tame the urge for now then attend to it later.

If Ja Lia had not set sail, he wouldn't have drowned and wouldn't have been abducted.

She knew. She knew what Poseidon was capable of.

The only thing she didn't know was what task Poseidon would saddle him with. She was hoping with all her heart that she wouldn't have to destroy the man she felt so very connected to.

She couldn't define the feeling yet. Ja Lia had taught her about love. But she couldn't say whether she had fallen in love with him or not.

He had taught her how to have sex, yet he couldn't satisfy her, and she had gone out in search of those who could.

But she ended up having sex with his siblings in her search. Ultimately, he discovered her betrayal and got really mad at her. In his annoyance, he set sail and drowned.

How was this her fault? If he hadn't propositioned her for sex, would she have ever discovered its pleasures? Why did he have to be so selfish?

"Selfish!" she said loudly and stood up. Her heart was swelling within her. There was something in the sea that was calling to her.

She was skeptical. She didn't know whether to heed the call or just stay where she was.

She couldn't control the urge. Twas as undeniable as the urge to have sex.

She began to walk towards the wide arms of the sea. Her footsteps sinking into the welcoming sand as she got closer to the beckoning waves.

It had been a while since she had done any magic. She was no longer welcome in the house Ja Lia left for her. Jimin and Lao Tzu had been on her back. The youngest brother still wanted her badly. He loved the way she rode him. She could tell.

She had, on countless occasions, caused chaos between the two. She wasn't taking a credit for it. Twas just a passion she couldn't tame.

But part of her knew she took delight in being unable to tame it.

She was drawing nearer to the sea. The waves seemed to be moving forward to greet her. Like a baby running towards a long-lost father.

She felt deep down that what she was doing was wrong, but she didn't care. She was aware of the possibility that she would be crushed under the weight of her own actions, yet she kept going. She was numb now. Poseidon had taken the one person she had felt drawn to from her. What reason did she have to remain on earth?

But then she remembered that a fetus had been forming in her since her last encounter with Ja Lia. She was carrying his baby.

That was the only reason that she might want to live.

Yet, she kept walking towards the waves until one foot disappeared beneath the water. She was about to follow suit with the second foot when she heard a noise from behind.

She immediately turned around and saw a man waving his hands above his head. She understood. The man thought she was going to commit a suicide.

Well, she couldn't blame him. Her actions certainly gave off that impression.

At first, she didn't want to acknowledge the man at all, but he started jumping and running closer to her.

She took her foot out of the water and turned to face the man. That’s when she noticed that the running man was pointing at her back.

"What now?" she muttered. She had stepped out of the water and was distancing herself from the waves of the sea. She had done what the strange man had wanted her to.

So why was he continuing to make a fuss?

The man kept running towards her, pointing at her back. She decided to turn around and see what the problem was.

But before she could make a full turn, she was hit from behind then swallowed.

The man had reached her, but he was way too late. She felt like she had swallowed gloom and all that encircled her was darkness.

A few moments later, she was beginning to regain consciousness to a familiar yet remote sensation. She felt a mouth on her mouth. It was gentle, caressing her lips.

Twasn't like the other mouths she was used to. Twasn't devouring hers. Twas mild and soft, warm and delicate.

Ja Lia was the only person who kissed her this sensually.

She didn't understand what was happening. A while ago, she had been hit by something she hadn't had time to investigate. And now her mouth was being caressed and worked gently.

She opened her eyes. Twas that man. The man she had seen earlier. The man who had been running towards her.

Why was he kissing her? Why was he bent over her? He wasn't lying on her. He was just blowing air into her mouth at intervals.

"Thank goodness! She's back to life. See, I told you she'd be fine," the man said as soon as he noticed her eyes had opened.

She struggled to look around. She was lying on the earth far from the sea. There was no one else with them. But if it was just the two of them, who had the man been speaking to?

She ignored that and instead asked, "Why were you kissing me?"

The man wasn't stunned. He just chuckled and replied, "You were hit by a wave. Haven't seen anything like that ever. Have you?" He turned as though he was talking to someone beside him. Then he continued, "Anyway, I rescued you. This is called mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. It's usually done to bring a drowned person back to life."

"Do it again," she said.

"Really? You seem fine now."

He was shocked. She chuckled and said, "Just once more."

He thought for a while then lifted his shoulders up slightly in agreement. Then he bent down and met her lips with his. He was no stranger to kissing, but she tasted different. She seemed to want to devour him. He wasn't ready.

He tried to raise his head, but he felt a force on the back of his neck. She had placed her right palm there. She pushed his lips back onto hers and began to ravage them.

Since she wanted him so badly, who was he to be deny her?

He fell on top of her, and her hard nipples taunted his chest.

He gave in to her as she ate him raw...

Chapter 2 | Lailah: The Milestone

"This will prepare you for the three days you'll be spending here."

Ja Lia watched Poseidon walk down the aisle. The torrent of the sea at this depth wasn't as unbearable as he had thought it would be. He was loving it here, and he wished he could stay forever.

They had been walking from one end of the room to the other. He couldn't remember how many days he had spent here. All he knew was that Poseidon loathed Lailah and wanted to use him against her.

Of course, Poseidon had promised him untold riches, including one of the gold statues he was standing in front of at that very moment. Why wouldn't he agree to Poseidon's terms? He knew full well how happily he could live off that gold.

All he had been asked to do was get rid of Lailah. Lure her into having sex with him. That was all. That wouldn't even be difficult.

Lailah was a sex addict. If he could make her pay for all the trouble she'd caused him. If he could make her pay for having sex with both his younger brothers. He would gladly do it.

"I used to think you would dress me in armor to go fight her," Ja said as he followed Poseidon out of the room.

He had been told that he could only ask questions pertaining to his reason for being abducted. Poseidon had once told him that if he wanted to know more about the ways of the ocean, he should come on a tour.

Ja walked briskly to keep up with him. He loved everything about this Poseidon guy except how assertive he could be. And his bluntness. And his long face. Damn. He didn't think he'd ever seen him smile.

Ja Lia walked through a door, and the gate shut automatically behind him.

He wasn't surprised. He was already used to such magic. Nothing seemed to impress him anymore, not after he'd seen a lady eat an enormous live adder. That had been a spectacle.

But he always wondered why he wasn't being swept off his feet by the current. Plus, he could breathe under the water. It felt natural. Like he was living and walking on the earth.

He was sure that something had been done to him to make him adapt so easily to underwater life. He had been told that he was unconscious for a month.

But he shook away those thoughts as he walked up beside Poseidon.

Poseidon's arms were so huge that they could lift Mount Everest and toss it into the Nile. You might call that an exaggeration, but Ja Lia knew what he was seeing.

"What if something goes wrong?" Ja asked, touching the right arm of the eight-foot-tall monster.

He removed his hand immediately. A jolt of electricity had shot from his arm into his hand and shocked away all intelligent thought. He was brain dead for the next few seconds.

When Poseidon noticed that Ja Lia was sane again, he snorted and commented, "You seem to learn the hard way."

Ja Lia kept his face down. He felt violated, but he knew that he had overstepped his bounds.

They were standing before Poseidon's castle, and there were numerous ladies attending to several sea creatures. None of the creatures paid any attention to Poseidon and Ja. Ja felt they were much more civil than humans.

Poseidon looked around for a while and said to him, "If you want something to go wrong, it surely will."

He walked straight towards the castle, his long robe swaying to the rhythm of the current. Ja watched him lift a baby Nymph belonging to one of the ladies standing at gate.

He looked away. He felt crushed. He felt cursed. But he knew that if he made the right choices, things would turn out for the better.

Poseidon had installed what looked like a horn in Ja Lia's body. He didn't know how it had gone through his skin.

Poseidon had often told him, "Do not try to understand."

He had been told that the semen would come from the horn and immediately find its way into Lailah. Then his job would be done.

The current began to whisper and sweep past the fall of his nose. He raised his head up to sniff at it.

Then he heard a giggle coming from beside his leg. He looked down. One of the Nymph babies was a few steps away from him. She was looking at him and gibbering between giggles.

He smiled down at the baby, and she began to crawl towards him.

"Bad idea, baby. Bad. Stay. Don't come any closer," he was throwing out as many negative words as he could think of, hoping the baby would understand at least one.

But they all fell on the baby's deaf ears. She kept crawling closer.

He began to move back. He shouldn't touch the baby. He shouldn't touch any of the living creatures here. He shouldn't.

The baby stopped crawling. She pouted. She seemed to have figured out that he was avoiding her. But she was way too young to understand why. Well, at least that's what he assumed.

The baby put her hands out to him. He grimaced and muttered, "Not on your life."

He had barely finished speaking when the baby started crying. Tears inspired by a bully. And, before he could utter another word, all the ladies descended upon him.

He had no clue how to explain. Everyone seemed to be against him.
