CHAPTER 1 | Marrying The Sultry Heiress

BLAKELY.

‘Run… run faster, Blakely! You have to escape him!’

That was all I had in mind while running towards nothingness—naked and scared. It was too dark, I didn’t know which direction I should go.

Soon, I realized I was on the coast. But why? And what am I doing here?

‘Blakely!’ I heard Jaxon’s loud voice calling my name. He sounds angry, not worried or anywhere near.

I should be happy and relieved that my boyfriend was here. He must be looking for me. But I didn’t feel the urge to look back. Instead, I wanted to run away from him.

But why? Why did I want to run away from the man I loved?

‘Come back here! I’m not yet done with you!’

I heard him again. Great fear crept down to my core. I wasn’t sure what was going on, but my instinct told me I should run.

And I continued running without looking back. I didn’t know this place and wasn’t sure why I was there. But my fear screamed danger and I had to save myself.

I saw a speed boat coming in my direction. I stopped, beckoning the sailor over with both my hands. I recognized the sailor and was genuinely relieved to see him.

‘I am safe…’ I murmured to myself.

But someone suddenly grabbed me by my waist.

‘You can never run away from me, Blakely. You are mine!’

“NOOOO!”

I shrieked as I jumped out of the bed—gasping for air.

“It was the same dream again,”

No, it was not just a dream but a nightmare that haunted me for over a year.

I forced myself to calm down. But I couldn’t. It would take me a while before I could.

A loud knock on my door, and I quickly became a totally different person. A person everyone knew. The spoiled and only heiress of the Green Food Corp.

“Ms. Blakely, Madam wants to know if you are dressed up already,” the maid inquired outside my door.

“Dressed? For what?”

Oh, shit!

I suddenly remembered the occasion. We were invited to the biggest wedding anniversary celebration of the year. It was Master and Madam Wright’s 38th wedding anniversary!

The Wrights are a prominent and leading family in the world of business. And their business empire is one of the giants in the industry. Everybody in the upper class feared and respected Master Wright—even my family. And luckily, we were always on good terms with the Wrights. Why the hell not? Our business was at the peak of success also. And the Master of the Wright family only wanted to befriend a successful household.

“Give me ten minutes!” I loudly shouted and quickly moved to fix myself.

I never loved banquets and formal occasions, but surely, Mom would never spare me from not coming with them.

“WHAT the hell was wrong with you?!” Mom silently scolded me.

The splendid banquet was held at one of the largest ballrooms in the Wright Hotel. Everything screamed luxury. But it still bored me to death. I wasn't a fan of fancy things since I was used to them.

“I’m tired, Mom.” I shortly answered and didn’t want to trigger any arguments with her.

It wasn’t even half an hour since we came here and I wanted to leave. I just couldn't even.

Being the only princess of the Green family, I always got what I wanted. But not in a situation like this.

My parents would surely cut my bank cards if I didn’t cooperate with them. At the age of twenty-two, I had never tried my hands in our company. And besides, I just graduated from college. I just wanted to take it easy before I started getting serious in life.

My parents let me do what I wanted as long as I didn’t pester them. I have three imperious big brothers and all of them were busy with their designated businesses. Not that I cared, since they didn’t care about me, either.

“You can’t be tired, Blakely. The Wrights haven’t shown up, yet. We need to greet them,” Mom reminded me. “And your Dad will not like it if he noticed you were acting bored like that. Get yourself together.” She silently winced at me while faking a smile to the people who greeted her.

I secretly rolled my eyes and greeted the people Mom introduced to me. I was aware of the admiring looks most of the men gave me. But I couldn’t enjoy the attention.

I was nothing but a display for my parents. I may have the title of being the heiress, but I never felt treasured.

Honestly, they only gave me money to squander, let me travel the world and do everything I wanted, as long as I didn’t create a problem. And all of it seems to be their way of compensating for the time that we should be hanging out together. But they never gave me time ever since. They didn’t even have any idea what I was doing with my life.

“Well, the party is indeed boring, don’t you think?” I answered.

“Oh, shut up,” she secretly glared at me. “Someone might hear you.”

I didn’t answer. It will only ignite her irritation.

“And what is your idea of fun parties? Those with loud noises and flirtatious dancing?”

‘Yes, that’s my idea of fun.’

I wanted to answer her but decided to keep it to myself.

“This is more pleasing and formal.” I heard Mom added.

‘Nah, of course it should be formal.’

Dad came back to us with his business colleagues. After a brief introduction, they started talking about something I didn’t understand. Must be the thing about businesses again.

‘Ugh! I really wanted to get out of here.’

I saw Maddie from afar. I suddenly got an idea of how to escape my situation. I skillfully slipped away from my parents and went to my best friend, the youngest and only daughter of Wright.

“Hey, girl! You look gorgeous!” Maddie greeted me. Her eyes even grew wider when she realized something. “I can’t believe your parents let you wear that,” she commented.

I checked on myself. Well, my dress was quite revealing. And if only we weren’t late yet, Mom would probably drag me back to my room to get change.

“Ain’t I’m hot?”

Maddie chuckled. “That’s exactly my point. Your Mom is kind of conservative just like my mother. That’s why I am surprised she allowed you.”

I just gave her a sly smile and suddenly pulled her towards a corner. I knew Maddie was confused by my sudden change, not just with how I dressed but with everything. But I didn’t have the courage to tell her what was going on.

Not now. Not yet. And I didn’t know when I would be ready.

“Maddie, helped me get out of here. I was bored to death.” I complained.

My best friend knew me better. I was never fond of crowds and gatherings. If not for the sake of our families’ friendship, I wouldn’t attend the party.

“What do you want me to do, then? I can’t run away with you. My brothers will fly home for this celebration. They would probably look for me.” Maddie explained. She looked sorry that she could not accompany me. And I understand.

“That’s the point, lovely. You will be very busy. So, there is no way my parents will bother you. Just help me get away from this room and I can manage from there,”

Maddie sighed but gave me a sweet smile. I knew her very well. She would help me the best that she could.

I ENDED up on the rooftop of the Wright Hotel. And I never anticipated how luxurious the rooftop would be. Elegant couches were meticulously decorated around.

‘It was so cozy here,’

I bet this place is one of the favorite hang-out places of the hotel guests.

“Nah, it will be more fun if a gorgeous man appears here to entertain me,” I said, talking to myself as I slumped at one of the red coaches near me.

“Let me do the favor,” came the soothing voice from behind me.

Startled, I almost jumped out of my seat looking back at the man who was walking towards me. He wasn't just gorgeous, but he looked very tall, dignified and powerful. And that made him the dream of every woman of my age.

I was yet to finish assessing him when I heard his handsome voice again.

“Did I pass up being your entertainer?”

CHAPTER 2 | Marrying The Sultry Heiress

BLAKELY.

He had a prominent jaw and a confident face. Clean-cut hair. His eyes seemed to drown me just by looking at him. His coat was carelessly hanging on his shoulder, while some of the buttons of his polo were open.

And my mischievous eyes wanted to search for what kind of view was hiding behind that polo.

‘I was certain, it was one heck of a view. He was nerve-wracking!’

I stealthily appraised him when he suddenly stopped in front of me. I didn’t know but I had this urge to smile at him. More than to any man I had encountered and flirted with.

He was way different from those. Even from afar, his charisma was overflowing, demanding, stealing attention…

The side of his lips twitch upward while gazing at me. And it just added to his manly character.

In a normal situation, I should be flirting with him by now. But I can’t even move. All I want is to watch him while thinking about a lot of worldly desires.

He was so attractive, so irresistible… so masculine in every way.

‘How I want to kiss those firm lips,’

Where the hell did he get his lips sculpted? They seemed to promise a thousand pleasures…

And when he slumped down beside me, I didn’t want to breathe.

“I was expecting there’s no one here. I didn’t know a gorgeous woman would climb up here too,”

He was talking so softly that his warm breath touched my delicate face. I didn’t know what kind of emotion was this, bridging around me.

It was just his warm breath for goddamn sake!

It was not the first time I came face to face with someone having a godly look, but I just didn’t know how he had that kind of effect on me.

“I-I was just… so bored,” I couldn’t look away from him.

Oh damn! Did I just stammer?

He grinned and those expressive grayish brown eyes studied me from head to toe. And just like other men I knew, great admiration quickly pictured in him.

“Are you one of the guests from the wedding anniversary?”

I nodded.

‘Oh, damn! Speak your ass, woman!’ I scolded myself inwardly.

If only I could slap my face so I could get back my wit. It seemed I lost my tongue and all I wanted was to watch the gorgeousness in front of me.

And I was rendered breathless when the man stroked his eyes down my legs.

“I like your dress,” he said with a hint of a self-satisfied smirk.

And just now, I wanted to regret wearing this kind of clothes. I didn’t know but it sounded like he had a bad connotation, while brazenly gazing at my upper legs.

But then, I couldn’t render the strange heat curling my whole system. His eyes seem to literally touch my silky smooth legs.

“T-Thank you,” is the only thing I could say.

I should be slapping him by now for shamelessly ogling at me. But I couldn’t. I just couldn’t.

Wasn’t it my original goal? To drive those men crazy over me? They were just the same… lustful… greedy.

Well, his gaze wasn’t that rude anyway. Instead, I saw admiration in his eyes. And it stirred my loins.

‘Oh dear, was it because he was so good-looking that I could not get offended?’

“Are you one of the guests of Wright, too?” Out of nothing, I asked him.

The man looked stunned for a while, but he quickly smiled. And as if the door of heaven opened up and glorified him. That was the sexiest smile I had ever seen.

I was actually restraining myself from throwing my body towards him.

“Sort of,” he shortly answered.

Where did I see that handsome face, anyway? He looked familiar. Was he a model? Did I see him on a billboard? In a magazine, perhaps?

“Then why were you here?”

I wanted to lose my mind while smelling his exceptional scent. An expensive musk scent! And it seemed to scream inside my nostrils.

I was out of breath when I felt the electrifying sensation the moment his skin touched mine.

What the heck!

There was fabric between our skin and yet I could still feel that warm sensation bridging in me, storming my every sense.

I should be flirting with him by now, driving him crazy.

But I suddenly lost my wit. I couldn’t move.

“How about you? Why were you here? You should be there at the party.”

I couldn’t help but stare at the way his sensual lips moved. My imagination started to work. I wanted to grab his nape and kiss those fcking lips.

But I was forced to get a hold of myself.

“The party is boring. I don’t like formal banquets, actually.”

Gosh! Why did he have to sit beside me? I was losing my mind whenever he was near.

The man hung his arm at the backrest behind me. His fingers softly stroked my shoulder, touching my supple skin. My whole senses were so aware of his every move, even the slightest.

“I should thank your parents.”

“Huh?” Confused, I turned to him.

“They seem to have great genes,”

I didn’t know what to say, or how to answer. That was a direct complement and it wasn’t new to me. But coming from a godly creature like him…

“I am glad I climbed up here,”

I gasped. This stranger was flirting with me. And I could not hold myself anymore. Yes, I was just holding myself. Why the hell do I need to? He was supposed to be one of my victims! So, why the hell I was holding myself?

Maybe because I had never been this fascinated by anyone. And I didn’t want to ruin his first impression of me.

But then, my inner goddess was screaming at me. The temptation was strong, I could not fight it.

I gave him my most alluring smile. And no one had ever been immune to this kind of smile. I inched towards him and caressed his handsome face, down his throat, his muscled chest. I’d been fantasizing about him since he walked here.

“So, you are grateful to see me here, handsome?” I seductively asked, stroking my fingers on his wide chest.

He gently caressed my legs, his eyes daring me. I breathed heavily, the burning heat started to snake my whole body. I’d been flirting for months with different men but this never happened to me.

“Why the hell not? I’m with a hot woman in the middle of this cold rooftop.”

His husky voice delivered a delicious sensation in me, burning me with fiery desire.

He clasped my legs, squeezing and caressing. I couldn’t find the urge to stop him, instead…

“Enjoying the touch, hmm?”

And I wasn’t faking it. It just came out naturally.

I gasped when I felt his hand curl up to my inner thigh. I should push him away. But my needs were greater and stronger than my sanity.

Attraction. This man held a strong attraction. And I couldn’t fight over it. I just couldn’t.

“Do you want me to help you ease your boredom?”

Desire all over his eyes and handsome face.

“Yes.” I moaned when his breath fanned my face, urging me to close my eyes and feel him.

I choked the invisible lump in my throat when I felt his hand caressing my inner thigh.

‘Let him… let him, Blakely. He was just like those men you charmed.’

I told myself.

I knew my limitations. I always knew where to stop. But this time, I wasn’t sure about myself anymore.

He licked and sucked my neck. I was gasping… breathless.

“It is your last chance to run. I’m giving you five seconds. One… Two—”

I sucked on my breath, opened my eyes and stopped him from counting.

“Why would I run?” In drugged dazed eyes I asked. “I’m here now, ready to get laid.”

I wasn’t in control of myself and my words, and it was too late before I understood the weight of what I said.

Disgust and coldness quickly laced his eyes. “As I expected, ‘sultry heiress’.”

Behind the enchanting and empty-headed sensation, his warm breath brought me, I was struck with terror.

He just pulled the trigger—the words that triggered me to catch my sanity.
