Chapter 1 I Don’t Want Any of Your Money | My Ex-husband Begged Me to Get Back Together

"Let's get a divorce."

Elliott Bright's tone was cold as he handed over a document.

After glancing through it, Laura Myrin looked up at Elliott and Molly Gable in front of her. Her eyes were cold.

It turned out that her husband, Elliott, had been absent for two days not because of work, but to celebrate his first love Molly's birthday.

That ridiculous tabloid news was true.

Laura felt as if her face had been slapped hard several times, burning with pain.

"After being Mrs. Bright for so long, enjoying all the glory, you should be content."

Elliott's voice was deep and cold as ice.

Content?

Elliott was blinded by someone for three years. During this period, she wholeheartedly took care of him, even willing to harm herself to find a cure. And then he wanted to divorce her.

She asked in a hoarse voice, "Have you thought it over?"

She had always been strong, but she was humble in front of him like a pile of mud casually trampled on.

Before Elliott could respond, Molly had taken Elliott's arm and smiled brightly, "Laura, you have worked hard to accompany Elliott all these years. I will make Elliott compensate you."

Elliott seemed to be seriously considering these suggestions, and after a moment of silence, he said, "Thirty million dollars."

Laura felt it was ridiculous.

As the sole heir of the Bright family, Elliott had no shortage of money. To him, this thirty million dollars was just the money spent on a few shopping trips, but to others, it was a lifetime of wealth.

It was truly ironic.

Figuring that she found the amount insufficient, Elliott's handsome eyebrows furrowed, and his voice lowered, "You name a number."

Laura smiled, "The care and affection I have shown you in these three years cannot be measured in money."

She took a deep breath, trying to appear carefree, "I don't want any of your money."

She sneered inwardly, her gaze slightly trembling, as she took the document and signed it. At that moment, it felt like a huge weight had been lifted off her shoulders.

Molly smiled contentedly, but the smile quickly faded, replaced by sympathy and innocence in her eyes. She asked, "Laura, do you have a place to stay? You can stay here today."

She paused, deliberately adding, "But tonight, Elliott and I will also be staying here."

After speaking, she casually adjusted her collar, revealing prominently visible kiss marks underneath.

"I hope we won't disturb you."

Laura narrowed her eyes and felt that the past few years had been nothing but a joke.

So they had already slept together.

At that moment, she felt like a clown.

She didn't have any feelings for him anymore.

Elliott coldly snorted, his deep and pleasing voice devoid of any warmth, "Stop staring at me like that. Do you want me to be chaste for your sake?"

Laura could no longer bear it, grabbed the cup beside him, and splashed the water fiercely, catching the two in front of him off guard with the icy water splashing on their faces.

"Laura?" Molly exclaimed in shock, water droplets dripping down her hair. She widened her eyes, looking at Laura in disbelief, "Even if you are angry, you shouldn't do this to us."

Elliott's face darkened, water dripping down his chin, wetting his white shirt. Even in such a disheveled state, he couldn't hide his innate nobility and elegance.

Laura usually endured everything, as gently as a cat. How dare she splash water on him now?

With a crisp sound, Laura quickly returned the cup to its place and said, "The education I received is when actions can solve the problem, do not use words."

Her cold and mocking words, her eyes full of ridicule towards the two, she said, "You are so dirty, so you need to wash up."

"Laura, we have treated you with utmost benevolence, what else do you want?"

To their surprise, as soon as she finished speaking, Laura suddenly stepped forward, unceremoniously grabbing her hair, followed by a heavy slap across her face.

A loud and crisp "smack" could be heard, showing the severity of the blow.

Chapter 2 It’s Time to Find Yourself | My Ex-husband Begged Me to Get Back Together

"Laura." Elliott wanted to stop but it was too late. His face became gloomy, the bulging veins on his forehead showing his suppressed anger, "Are you crazy?"

"Elliott." Molly covered her face and threw herself into Elliott's arms, crying with tears in her eyes, "It's all my fault. I've made Laura angry."

Laura sneered, "Great. It's a shame you haven't won an award."

She took off her coat from the hanger, looked coldly at Elliott she had once loved with all her heart and spoke word by word, "Elliott, don't regret it."

Laura changed into her shoes at the entrance, smiled lightly, and decisively left, without even packing her luggage. She couldn't care less about the things in the Bright family.

Just as she stepped out of the gate, a black motorcycle was parked in front of the Bright family, looking particularly cool.

Laura sat on it, taking out her phone.

Shortly after, a few messages popped up.

“Laura, when are you coming back to manage the company? I'm tired of being the acting CEO.”

She did not reply, quickly put on her helmet, bent down, and then revved the motorcycle engine.

“Laura, it's time to find yourself.”

In the afternoon, the door of the president's office was gently pushed open by a pair of fair-skinned hands, followed by a woman in a tight red dress walking in. Laura walked in ten-centimeter high heels, her eyes slightly narrowed, and her gaze fell on the man sitting across the desk.

"The profits are still not high enough, wait to negotiate with the other party again."

"Alright, you can leave."

Laura walked over, pulled a chair, and sat down, casually crossing her legs.

The secretary's eyes lit up when she saw Laura. When did the company have such a beautiful woman?

But the big boss behind her was always unpredictable, so she dared not say more and left.

Steve Godin looked up, intending to take a break, but the next moment, his gaze stopped, and he stood frozen in place.

Laura lazily leaned back in the chair, her face, even without makeup, was exquisitely beautiful, and now with a touch of enchanting makeup, like a blooming rose, naturally beautiful. Her snow-white skin, set against the red dress, appeared even more delicate and tempting.

Steve's gaze inadvertently slid over her slender neck, seeing the delicate collarbone, and the faintly visible...

He blushed shamefully. How many years had it been since he had seen Laura like this?

"Laura, what's the matter?"

"I divorced."

In just two words, Laura spoke exceptionally casually.

She looked coldly outside the window, exuding a sense of relaxation.

Three years ago, she was thriving in the market. If it weren't for meeting Elliott and suddenly wanting to change her ways, she might be the current richest person in the Silverdale. Looking back at these three years, she had been trying hard to suppress her originally carefree personality for Elliott who didn't love her, imitating Molly's every move. It was now absurd to think about.

Meanwhile, Elliott only saw her as a vine that couldn't live without him, thinking she was greedy and had no money or power. Little did he know, her industries were already spread nationwide.

"It's great that it's over." Steve excitedly slammed the table and said, "I've disliked him for a long time."

Laura smiled but remained silent.

Initially, so many friends advised her to leave Elliott, but she refused to listen. She never came back until there was a dead end. Fortunately, everything was still salvageable.

"Laura, getting a divorce is the wisest choice you've made in these years." Steve immediately picked up his phone and said, "There's a dinner party tonight, come with me. I'll introduce you to some business partners."

In the evening, Steve took Laura to the Cloudside Manor.

This manor was notorious for being difficult to book, and getting a reservation for the third-floor private room was even more challenging. At this moment, as the waiter came in to pour water, he conveniently forgot to close the door of the private room. Several men from the upper class passing by outside immediately recognized Laura.

"Elliott, is this your wife?"

"Who's that man with her?"
