Ever since I was a little kid I had a fascination with wolves, even before I knew I was one I loved them. I could never understand why Twilight existed for it was a terrible movie and Bella picked the wrong guy, but then again he did have a mate bond with her daughter so I cannot be too mad at the outcome of the series, and believe me, it was a cringe from start to finish. Any whore.
I'm a mixed breed. I'm half vampire and wolf. I love my wolf side, of course I liked my vampire side too but some days the vampire in me is very irrational and isn’t too fond of my wolf. Neither the less, it gave me the best of both worlds. I live close to the wood, so when I get a chance of my mom off my ass, I always go or a run letting my wolf out. It makes me feel free and calms my spirit.
My wolf, Roman, her fur was golden brown which shimmered in the sun. I had a black tail and a black strip going across my left eye. She is always calm and loving. I love her to death do us part. I find it weird that when I'm in my regular body, I can't be around the sun as much, but with my wolf, it's nothing for her.
My mother never approved me of having my wolf side. I wasn't in a pack, neither a clan. I was a lone wolf and vampire. It didn't matter to me. I liked being alone anyways. The vampires here were rarely around and the wolves here didn't hesitate to give me the time and day so it was easier for me to stay to myself.
I don't understand if she had me with a wolf, why'd she didn't like it. My dad had a mate, but loved mom. Not like he loved his mate. When he found his mate he left my mom but always came around for me. My mom hated him after he left. Come to think of it he had children with his mate older than me… so I wonder why he messed around with my mom. These are questions that will go unanswered throughout my life. I liked my dad’s family. He had 3 sons my age and 2 younger daughters. They were always kind to me and treated me like their own sister even if we barely saw each other.
"Hey Kiki." My dad smiles hugging me as I open the door to my house. I smiled hugging him back sighing. I missed him.
"Can you at least give me a 'hey' ?" he ask shaking my shoulders "hello." I say softly with a small laugh.
"Well, what did you want to do today?" He ask. I took a deep breath shrugging as we walked to his car. I got in and sat down.
"Let's go to the cafe." I tell him as he nods.
My dad didn't live relatively close to me, he lived in another state, it was just a couple hours away. I always told him he didn't have to see me all the time but he told me that I was as important as his other kids, which obviously I knew that. We got in the cafe and ordered some donuts along with some tea. I loved donuts, I loved anything with sugar to be honest. I could eat them all day without regret.
"So what's going on in that pretty head of yours?" he ask as I smile realizing I’ve been spaced out for quite a while.
"I don't want to live here anymore." I say softly. I know he heard me because of his wolf hearing. I don’t know where that came from, but maybe it was my wolf finally giving me the balls I needed.
"What do you mean?" he asks furrowing his eyebrows.
My dad was always scared leaving me around my mom. When I tell you she doesn't like wolves, she doesn't. She banned me from changing into Roman since my first shift. Roman doesn't like her very much either. She tried killing my mom once, but I wasn't having any of that, especially my mom.
"Ever since she started bringing her boyfriend’s home she doesn't seem to care about me. And one ti-"
"Did he touch you?" he asked. Anger and pain was written all over him.
I shake my head quickly. I would never allow that.
"No, she's been out of the house a lot, and when she is there she drinks a lot. I don't like it." I tell him. He nods putting his head into his hands.
"You know you're welcome in my house." he says. I smile nodding.
"I want to leave as soon as possible, please." I ask him, more like plead with him as he nods standing.
I made sure that the waiter put my donuts into a bag and I paid. My dad attempted I but I snatched his wallet before he could. That's the pro of being a vampire.
We went to the house and up to my room. I didn't really have anything here. Most of my clothing fit in the dresser I had so I took a luggage and threw my clothing inside. My father kept looking outside the window. I think he was just looking out for my mother and I know he was kind of freaked out by her. She wasn't the kindest person so I could see why he was do alert.
"I'll take it to the car." he took both bags and went down stairs. He stopped and looked back up. "Candice will be happy that you decided to come."
I smile as he goes to the car. Candice, his mate was a kind woman. She was anything but mean. It was like if you did something bad, she couldn't find a way to punish you or be mad at you. I go to the kitchen to write a note to my mother. I figured she wouldn't go looking for me, but at least she'll finally figure out that she had a daughter for the past two months. I walk out the house locking it and leaving the key under the doormat. She likes it under the doormat. "Ready?” My dad asks as I nod smiling happily.
"I'm more than ready." I tell him as he starts driving. Halfway through the drive I head off to sleep because my father was a boring person to take a road trip with.
"Wake up sweetie." My dad shakes me softly. I open my eyes slightly looking up at him. I glance at my watch sighing. It wasn't too late in the day. "We’re here?" I said looking around.
"Yeah, welcome to your new home." my dad said gesturing to the house. It wasn't small but it wasn't a mansion. I sigh smiling. It seems like I have a new chapter in my life beginning now.

"Come on Nicki." my dad grabbed my hand as I stood and took my book-bag. He took the suitcase out of the back seat and we walked up the drive way.
The house was breathtaking. It was a light pink and the trimming and window seals were cream.
It was nice and I know that Candice picked out the colors.
"Welcome to me casa." Father announced smiling down at me. I smile stepping inside. There stood Candice, Landon who was the oldest boy. He was in his second year of college. Liam was in his senior year of high school and Levi. He was a junior, same as I. Then there was Layla and Leah. Layla was also a junior but that was only because she took online classes to be up with Levi, and Leah was a freshman. I smile at them.
"Oh look my baby is all grown up." Liam says running over to me and picking me up swinging me. I laughed a little as he put me down.
"Hey Nicki!" Layla exclaims hugging me as I hug her back. Leah doesn't like me all that much. I don't know why, but she never did, also gave me attitude and didn’t welcome me like everyone else.
"Well, Nicki will stay with us from now on." dad said, smiling.
"I'll take her to her room." Landon says smirking down at me.
"I'll take her bags." Levi says, smiling, grabbing my things from my father and I smile back at him.
"I'm going to tag along." Liam grabbed my hand and they led me up the stairs.
"Okay, so there are three levels beside the downstairs of bedrooms." Landon tells me and I nod.
"We are all on the second row while our parents are on the first." Levi explains.
"What's the third?" I ask curiously.
"It's the playrooms, like the library, game room, gym, those kinds of things." Liam says and I nod internally screaming, they had a fucking library and I planned to spend every second in there. I've never been in their home, everytime we did ever see each other it was either on trips or us just hanging out or eating. It's more calm then my house. The staircase was designed nicely and the walls were covered with family pictures. I stopped when I saw one of me in it. "Why is there a picture of me here?" it was a Christmas picture when I was about 10.
I was wearing some ridiculous red and green dress with my father and the three boys. Candice had taken the picture. My mom was more than likely away with her many boyfriends and had left me home alone.
"Dad always tries to get pictures of you but your mom would always tell him to never call and stuff." Levi says as I nod, he sees me a lot more now, he could’ve at least put a more recent photo up.
"Look, this is your room. Mom had set it up a while back saying that you'll need it. She was right." Landon says pulling me into a hug and kissing my temple. "We're glad you're here." Liam says with a smile.
"Yeah, I'm not." Leah says giving me a look and walking into her room.
"Don't mind her. She's just jealous that you're real pretty." Levi says pinching my cheek as I roll my eyes at him.
I walk in my room as they put the bags next to the bed. The room was purple and black. My favorite colors. The bed had the curtains that came from the top and flowed down the floor. It was light purple but you could barely see through it. "You like?" Levi asks and I nod my head.
“Yes, I love it.” I giggle looking around again making sure it was real. I never got to have my room the way I liked it. The room that I had was my mother’s when she was younger. It was her old family house. I didn't like it, she kept all the childish things in there like I was goddamn five. "Well it's all yours you know." Landon says.
I walk to the bed and Laid down. I pull down the sleeve of my long shirt down a little. I looked up at the ceiling to see it was purple with black stars. I smile. This was so cool. "You know those are black stars glow in the dark." Liam says.
They close the blinds on the window and close the door. I look up, and surly enough the ceilings of black stars were glowing.
"I like it." I get up to walk to the closet when the boys all stop me. Liam stand in front the door and Landon hold me back.
"Why I can’t open it, you may ask." Levi says as I raise an eyebrow at them. "Well our dog is in there and there is no way of taming him.
"Please. Y'all are wolves. It's easy." I say. Landon lets go of me and gives me a crazy look. "It's your funeral." Liam smirks as I push him. I open the door and there stood a pit bull. I cock my head to the side getting down to its level.
"Hey little boy." I extend my hand and I hear the boys hold in their breath.
I roll my eyes as the dog comes and smell my hand. He sniffs inching up to my elbow then licks me.
"See? He isn't bad." I tell them smiling at the dog. "What's his name?"
"Rex." Landon says as it growls at him. I smirk.
"Oh poor boy. Boy is it?" I know. I seem crazy talking to the door, but he replied by licking my face.
"She tamed that damn beast." Layla voice comes to my ears.
"I know right. It was so weird." Liam says.
"I always wanted a dog." I ignored them letting him lick my face.
I started petting boys' fur, or rather skin. Whatever it is. Like I said I always wanted a dog but never got one. My mom never liked dogs because she said they are wolves. She was right, so she had a cat that I truly hated with a passion. I killed it last week. It's under her bed, but she doesn't know that because she was never home. Also it was an accident, and my wolves fault. "We'll leave you to get settled in." Liam says ruffling my hair. I pout at him for messing it up after it took me a while to make it look presentable this morning.
"Later." I called to them as they all leave and the door closes shut. Finally, some alone time with my new best friend.
