Chapter 1 Sending Durex to His Girlfriend | Overnight Riches
↓
At 9 PM, it was raining heavily at a Sky Convenience Store near Golden Ridge Academy.
"Hello, you've reached Sky Convenience Store. How can I help you?"
"Grab me a box of Durex and 2 packs of tissues. Take 'em to room 1302 at the Hilton Hotel by South River. And make it quick!"
After being hung up on, Jenson John shook his head in frustration. Young folks these days never planned ahead.
Jenson gathered all the items in the store, put on a raincoat, mounted his electric bike, and headed towards the Hilton Hotel by South River.
As Jenson made his way through the flooded road, he suddenly lost his footing and ended up with wet and muddy pants and shoes. Despite this mishap, the package managed to stay dry. With no time to waste, he quickly got back on his feet and pressed on towards the hotel.
Arriving at room 1302, Jenson knocked on the door, which quickly opened.
"Hello, this is your..." Jenson paused midway, stunned.
Standing before him was none other than his girlfriend, Cleo Dean!
Cleo was wearing a white robe, with her dark and wet hair draped over her shoulders. A scent of shampoo mixed with bath soap filled the air.
"C... Cleo, what are you doing here?" Jenson couldn't believe his eyes, his mind was spinning.
"Why are you the one delivering?" Cleo's heart skipped a beat. She instinctively stepped back, her mind buzzing with chaos.
"What's going on?" A man in the room walked over, also in a robe and slippers. Jenson recognized him as Austin Wells from the Golden Ridge Academy's management department, known as the "campus hunk," reputedly quite flirtatious.
"How dare you touch my girl..." Jenson couldn't contain his anger, about to charge at Austin.
"Stop!" Cleo intervened, after a brief panic, she quickly regained her composure. Since Jenson had discovered them, there was no point in hiding anymore. It was time to come clean!
Cleo shouted at Jenson, "Jenson, let's break up!"
"Break up!" Jenson was dumbfounded, staring at Cleo, "Cleo, after over a year, you want to break up now?"
"Yes! Break up!"
Cleo looked straight at Jenson without flinching, "Surprised? Every time we go out, it's always street food, the makeup you buy is always the cheapest. Look at what you're wearing, not even worth 200 bucks, every time we're together, people laugh at me behind my back. Did you know that?"
"This is not the life I want. I deserve better than being with a broke loser like you. I was too naive in my freshman year to be fooled by a poor guy like you!"
Cleo's words dripped with resentment!
Cleo hugged Austin's arm, defiantly declaring to Jenson, "This is my boyfriend! From now on, I have nothing to do with you, stop bothering me!"
"Seems like you're the pathetic ex-boyfriend of Cleo's!"
Austin smirked provocatively at Jenson. Dressed in a raincoat, with mud on his pants and shoes, Jenson looked like a total loser. Austin took the plastic bag from Jenson's hand, pulled out the box of Durex, shook it, chuckled lightly, and said to Jenson, "Coming to the hotel to deliver Durex to your ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend, man, you've hit rock bottom. That's some impressive magnanimity, haha!"
"Why don't you leave?" Cleo scowled at Jenson.
"He might as well stay, maybe he wants to watch you and me..." Austin sneered, his eyes fixed on Jenson.
Seeing the couple before him, Jenson's mood plummeted. He slowly turned around and walked away from the room.
"Bro, you're not taking the money?" Austin looked at Jenson's disheartened figure and felt particularly satisfied. Cleo's boyfriend sent him, plus free condoms.
As he stepped outside, the rain intensified.
Jenson took off his raincoat, the cold rain soaking his body. But it cleared his mind a little.
Cleo just couldn't stand him being poor. Well, good riddance to such a materialistic, money-loving woman. Why should he be sad?
"Buzz, buzz..."
His pocket vibrated, Jenson took out his phone, a text message. But when he saw the number, he froze in place.
"After family research, it is decided that John family descendant Jenson, after passing the poverty training assessment, gains control over his family assets from today."
The raindrops on the screen blurred the message.
After 7 years, the "poverty training assessment" arranged by the family for him had finally... ended!
Over the past 7 years, Jenson had faced countless hardships and endured many sneers due to poverty. Like a movie reel, all those struggles flashed through his mind. He had almost forgotten his privileged status as a nepo baby, but now, none of it mattered anymore. Everything that belonged to him was back...
Early the next morning, Jenson did something unusual; he hailed a taxi and headed straight to the Citibank in the city.
Citibank was located in the central business district of Golden City, home to the wealthiest enterprises.
The area around Citibank was filled with luxury cars, and the people passing by, in both attire and demeanor, confirmed their affluent status.
Jenson strode towards the bank's entrance and pushed open the doors.
"Oops!"
The doors swung both ways, and Jenson's push was a bit rough, accidentally colliding with a long-haired girl walking from the inside.
Jenson quickly apologized to the girl, "I'm sorry, I didn't see you."
"Am I invisible? Can't you see me?" The long-haired girl covered her forehead, glaring at Jenson.
Meanwhile, Luna George, the bank manager, immediately approached, stepping in her high heels. She first inquired about the girl's condition. The girl, now calm, looked at Jenson with suspicion, noticing his attire, which screamed "bargain."
Unlike other banks, Citibank primarily served high-end business clientele. She was here with her father, but what was Jenson here for?
"Sir, may I ask why you're here..." Luna asked with a faint smile.
Judging by Jenson's appearance and age, he clearly wasn't the usual clientele of Citibank.
Jenson casually remarked, "I'm here to withdraw money."
"Withdraw money?" The girl beside exclaimed in surprise, quickly transforming her expression into one of disdain, sneering at Jenson.
"To withdraw money, don't you need a card at least?"
It wasn't a piece of cake to open an account at Citibank - you had to drop a cool million to get a card.
Wasn't it obvious from Jenson's appearance whether he could open an account or not?
"Do you have a card?" Luna asked with a faint smile. She thought Jenson definitely lacked experience, either unaware of their bank's rules or thinking that cards from other banks could be used here.
"No," Jenson shook his head.
The long-haired girl beside couldn't help but chuckle at Jenson's honest answer. At this moment, she didn't even want to look at Jenson anymore.
"Girl, let's go." At this moment, the long-haired girl's father came over, sorting through documents in his hand.
"My dad and I are leaving, Ms. George." The long-haired girl grabbed Luna's hand twice, her gaze scanning Jenson again. "Ms. George, people like him seriously affect the image of your bank and the mood of our customers! I hope you won't let this happen again in the future."
After the long-haired girl finished speaking, she hugged her father's arm and pushed open the door, walking away.
"Mr. Russell, take care," Luna followed to the door, watching the father and daughter leave in the car, feeling resentful as she turned back to the hall, determined to "politely" escort Jenson out as soon as possible!
Huh? Where did he go?
There was no one where Jenson had just stood. Luna felt puzzled for a moment. Could it be that this guy felt ashamed and left sneakily?
Luna felt relieved when she thought about it this way. Just as she was about to get back to work, she caught a glimpse of a figure.
It was that guy!
No wonder she didn't see him just now. He had already walked to the door of the VIP room, and the columns in the hall had blocked his figure.
The VIP room was reserved for clients with higher status and at least 30 million in deposits!
Jenson didn't even have a card. Allowing him in would just be inviting trouble for the relationship manager.
"Stop right there!" In a panic, Luna shouted loudly. Other clients looked at her, appearing displeased with her loud voice. Luna could only smile apologetically and quickly walked towards Jenson.
But Jenson had already opened the door to the VIP room and entered.

"How shameless can this person be?" Luna walked to the door, wearing a frustrated expression. She tried to open the door to the VIP room, but it was already locked from inside.
"Hello..." In the VIP room, the relationship manager was originally leisurely leaning on the sofa, looking at his phone. When he heard the door suddenly being opened, he quickly sat up. Usually, if a VIP came, the hall manager, Luna would have informed him in advance. What was going on today?
The manager instinctively stood up and walked towards Jenson. As a relationship manager, he knew about the 31 VIPs in his hands like the back of his hand. He initially wanted to greet the newcomer to dispel the awkwardness caused by his previous posture. But when he saw Jenson, his expression froze.
He was very sure that Jenson was neither his VIP nor a relative of the VIP.
"May I ask who you are..." Looking at the young man who looked barely 20, the manager was really puzzled. Who is he exactly?
"I'm here to withdraw money," Jenson cut to the chase and stated his purpose.
"Do you have our Supreme Card?" The calm expression on Jenson's face made the manager even more suspicious. The VIPs who did business in the VIP room had at least 30 million in deposits. This young man obviously didn't have that, but why was he so calm?
"No," Jenson admitted frankly.
"I'm sorry, sir, without a card, we can't proceed with the withdrawal. Do you have any other business?" Upon hearing that there was no card, the manager was completely relieved, changing his address to a more casual "you."
This young man must be crazy. How could Luna be so blind as to let him in? We'll have to discuss this issue thoroughly during Monday's meeting.
"Do you have fingerprint recognition here?" Jenson suddenly asked.
"Yes," the manager was puzzled. The fingerprint recognition system introduced by the bank was for use by the wealthiest families and conglomerates. The number of people who could register fingerprints in this system was extremely limited. At least in the Golden City branch, no one had used it yet.
"Do you want to use it?" The manager couldn't help but use "you" automatically.
"Yes," Jenson nodded.
The manager was skeptical. Jenson didn't look like a wealthy person at all. Could he really be someone who could use "fingerprint recognition technology"?
To be honest, the manager felt 99.99% disbelief, but after considering for a few seconds, he ultimately decided to let Jenson try it out. What if it's true?
Soon, the manager took out the "fingerprint identity recognition device" that had never been used from the safe.
"You can place it here," the manager gestured to Jenson.
Jenson placed his thumb on the verification area.
"Beep!"
The device lit up with a glaring red light, and the LCD screen displayed the words "Fingerprint not recorded"!
Immediately, the manager's expression tightened, hostility flashing in his eyes. The phone he was flipping through stopped, ready to call the police.
"Don't get agitated!" Jenson hurriedly said, "I might have remembered wrong. Let me try with my index finger."
The manager raised a cold smile and pretended again. Could this trick work? If the thumb didn't work, should he switch to the index finger? If the index finger didn't work, should he switch to the middle finger? After using all 10 fingers, should he use his toes?
The manager decided that if this didn't work, he would directly call the police and arrest Jenson.
While he was pondering, Jenson had already placed his index finger on the verification area.
"Beep!" The device lit up with a green light, and the LCD screen displayed "Verification successful. Family account number 01, verifier Jenson John, account number 01104."
The manager's face instantly filled with astonishment as he looked at Jenson in disbelief. He quickly stood up, forcing a smile. "Mr. John, I'm sorry for the oversight earlier. I'm Olly Riley, the client manager at the Golden City branch. Please allow me to take care of you in the future."
"It's okay," Jenson said lightly, standing up. "Can I check how much money is in my account now?"
"Please wait a moment," Olly said, sitting down in front of the computer and operating it. Following Olly's instructions, Jenson pressed his fingerprints on the scanner.
"It's ready, Mr. John," Olly clicked the "OK" button on the screen, and Jenson's account details appeared.
Pointing at the number below the account balance on the computer screen, Olly said, "Mr. John, your personal account currently has 148 million..."
"That's not right!" Olly suddenly realized he had misread the amount. "It's 1.486438462 billion dollars."
After reading the numbers, Olly couldn't help but gasp in disbelief.
Jenson, a young man of 20, already had such a huge fortune! This is money that almost 99% of the world's population couldn't earn in their lifetime.
Jenson stared at the numbers on the screen, feeling a strange sensation. He told himself he needed to quickly adapt to the identity of a nepo baby.
"By the way, you have other assets. Let me show you." Olly operated the computer with the mouse on several pages and finally clicked an "OK" button.
The computer screen displayed a grid of 4x4 surveillance images.
"These are surveillance images of your physical assets stored in our branches elsewhere," Olly explained to Jenson. He casually clicked on one, showing a sports car with "February 25, 2019, 10:11:12, The Hague Branch, Netherlands" in the upper left corner and "Ferrari Pagani Huayra" in the lower right corner.
Olly opened other images for Jenson.
"Meriac, Hawaii Branch: 95 Dominican blue amber bracelets, 100 2000g gold bars."
"Nice, France Branch: 3 genuine Picasso paintings, 1 Plato's notebook, 2 Rodin sculptures."
"Cape Town, South Africa Branch: 15 10-carat diamonds, 10 ivory products, 20 5000g gold bars."
...
As Olly looked at Jenson's assets around the world, his eyes nearly popped out. He had never seen anyone as wealthy as Jenson, even those with only a tenth of Jenson's assets.
"Okay, let me get you a card," Olly said eagerly, but before he could proceed, Jenson spoke up.
"Oh, I'll get that for you right away. Please wait a moment," Olly immediately agreed, then personally went to get Jenson's card. In just 10 minutes, a Supreme Card was issued.
Looking at the Supreme Card, Olly couldn't help but feel that it didn't do justice to Jenson's status.
Unfortunately, the highest-level card Golden City branch could issue was this Supreme Card.
Olly extended the Supreme Card to Jenson with both hands. "Mr. John, here's your card."
"Alright, thank you," Jenson took the card and said his thanks, then stood up and walked towards the exit.
"Mr. John, please wait..." Olly couldn't afford to neglect a client like Jenson. He had to personally escort him out. However, the asset monitoring system on his computer was still open, and the fingerprint verification machine and iris recognition device were not secured in the safe. The surveillance in the VIP room was even connected to the office of the regional manager. He couldn't afford to break any rules.
In the hall...
Luna was anxiously waiting. Why was there still no movement inside? Could it be that the kid had harmed Olly in the VIP room?
Luna became more and more fearful as she thought about it. Just then, Jenson calmly walked out of the VIP room.
"Stop!" Luna immediately shouted and, wearing high heels, quickly walked towards Jenson, grabbing his clothes. "You can't leave. By intruding into the VIP room without permission, once we confirm there are no losses, I'll have you taken to the police station."
"What are you saying? Let go!" Jenson tried to shake her off, but Luna held on tightly.
Was this woman too domineering? He noticed her disdain earlier, but he didn't want to argue with her. Now, she was taking it to another level!
"What's this?" Luna, with sharp eyes, noticed the Supreme Card peeking out of Jenson's pocket. She quickly pulled it out, staring at Jenson as if she had found evidence. "You thief! Stealing a card is an economic crime. I'll have you taken to the police station!"
Luna naturally didn't think the card belonged to Jenson. She instinctively thought that Jenson had entered the VIP room under false pretenses, pretended to be clueless, and took the Supreme Card when the manager wasn't paying attention.
"Let go!" Jenson was getting really annoyed with this woman.
"Guilty conscience?" Luna became even more convinced of her theory.
As the two of them struggled, other customers in the hall gathered around, forming a circle around them. Some even stepped forward to help Luna catch the thief.
Just then, Olly, who had sorted things out in the VIP room, hurried out.
Olly had witnessed Jenson's assets, the largest depositor at the Golden City branch. Moreover, during the fingerprint verification, he had stated that Jenson was just an account under the 01 family. If even one account was so wealthy, what about the entire family?
How rare was it to encounter such a noble person? It was a huge honor, with enormous potential benefits, even if it was just getting acquainted. In Olly's view, it was a significant honor with great potential benefits!
However, when he stepped into the hall, he saw Luna wrestling with Jenson, and Jenson looked very angry!
Olly was shocked. Luna, this fool! Not only was she playing with fire, but she might also be dragging him into it!
Could someone with 1.4 billion in their bank account be messed with? With a flick of their finger, they could make you disappear without a trace.
