Reclaiming Aria

"You got the wrong person! Let me go. I swear I didn't do it. I swear! Hear me out. Lucas! Lucas listen to me, please. "

Aria was screaming her lungs out as the guards dragged her out by her hair. She was heavily chained and it was already decided that she was the culprit without a proper trial.

The newly coronated Alpha Lucas stood there on the pulpit with a blank expression, his face turned away from her. Her pleas fell on deaf ears.

She reeked of blood. His father's blood.

It was unbearable for him. As they pulled her towards the dungeons Aria made one feisty attempt.

She pulled at her chains, making the guards fall and then she ran towards Alpha Lucas and fell at his feet.

" You believe me, don't you? " But her question got muffled amongst the shrieks that filled the Hall at the Silverscales Pack.

The Elite guards immediately formed a circle around the new Alpha as Aria was pushed to the wall. Blood spilled all over as bodies fell here and there.

“ The Rogues are here! Run for your lives!” Somebody yelled as a headless body fell right at Lucas's feet, beside Aria.

“ Long time no see, little Lucas! ”

Aria looked up at the owner of the heavily husky voice.

It was the infamous Lycan King. He spared one glance at Aria and she immediately looked away.

It was not the first time that they were meeting. But he still made her feel as disgusted as before.

“ Are you here with the Rogues? Trying to take advantage of my father's death, are you? ”Lucas stepped outside the protective ring and walked up to him. Lucas was very well built but in front of the Lycan King, he indeed looked small.

“ Nah! I am not with them. You can deal with them later. I am here to collect my prize. I heard you were discarding this little treasure.” He pointed at Aria.

Lucas gritted his teeth and clenched his fists.

“ What do you have to do with Aria? She has been convicted of murder. My father's murder. She is going nowhere. ” Lucas announced slamming on his thigh.

The Lycan King shrugged.

“ Suit yourself, ” He turned so fast and landed one tight slap across Luca's face that he went flying across the pedestal. He bent low and scooped Aria up on his back.

“ Let go of me!” Aria kicked and punched The Lycan King while looking back desperately at her lover, “Lucas! Lucas, you can't let him take me. You know he has been after me for so long. Lucas! Lucas, kill me if you will. Lucas, please.”

The Lycan King let out a loud roar which sent a shiver down Aria's spine.

“ I am doing you a favor, baby girl. I am saving you from this pimp.” He slapped Aria's butt lightly as he jumped down the window sill.

He leaped after each lap and his leaps were so long and high, it felt like they were flying. Aria held tight onto his shoulder and his neck as he used both hands to climb the walls and run along its edge.

The Lycan King turned around as gunshots filled the air. The Silver Scale guards were almost about to catch up. Their bullets were raining as he picked up his pace.

“ Damn! Are they done playing with the Rogues already? ” He muttered under his breath.

Aria had her eyes shut tight. It was too thrilling a roller coaster ride. She couldn't keep up. He supported her weight only by touching her back.

When they had run for almost an hour they found themselves at a dead end.

The Silver Scales were behind them and in front of them was the cascade that met the sea at the end. It was a very steep cliff. Nobody was known to survive a fall down there.

“ Whoah! Ready for a spin, baby girl? ” The way he called her that made Aria hate him even more. “ We are going down that rabbit hole. ”

Without further warning, he jumped.

Aria instinctively held tightly onto him, almost digging her nails deep inside his flesh.

The Lycan King wrapped his arms protectively around her and before the Silverscale guards could catch up, they disappeared and were gone without a trace.

The sheer force of the waterfall was too much for even the strongest of shifters like the Lycan King himself.

It was like a torrential storm ragging on them and pressing them down on their face.

The end of the waterfall was not a flat surface,it was jagged. If they continued their fall it would result in them getting stabbed. The Lycan King tried to change their course and break their fall but he kept slipping. They were headed straight towards sure doom when something unexpected happened.

Something which pleasantly surprised the Lycan King.

His wolf, Kurt, manifested.He was no ordinary wolf.

Kurt picked Aria up by her neck as she trembled in fear at his mere sight. He enveloped The Lycan King's body and cushioned them as they touched the rugged ground at the depth of the waterfall.

He lost consciousness as soon as the sharp edges of the stone tore through Kurt and he howled in pain. But he carefully lowered Aria at the edge before slowly retreating and disappearing, leaving Aria alone with her severely injured abductor…or was it savior?

Aria approached the unconscious Lycan King with utmost caution. A part of her wanted to run away and let him bleed to his death.

But then she realized that she had nowhere to run.

Earlier, Lucas had been her fortress whenever she left threatened. Starting from her childhood. Everybody blamed her for her parent's death but nobody told her why.

Her aunts abused and overworked her, that was until Lucas came along on her sixteenth birthday and claimed her as his breeder.

She did not care about power or position. It was his tender affection that melted her heart.

“ Aaaahhhhh! ” A loud groan that escaped the Lycan King's lips, brought her back to reality.

She watched his wounds closely. Everything inside her was telling her that she should not care whether he lived or died.

But she was a Healer's daughter after all.

“ Shit! You are awake! ” It seemed like Aria immediately regretted her decision to heal him.

He looked fit and fine as he stared at her.

Unfortunately, she had dozed off.

“ You healed me! ” It was more like an exclamation than a question or a statement.

“ Yes, I did. My stupid ass did. I should have run when I had the chance. ”

She scratched her head innocently.

“ Run and go where? Baby girl, the sooner you realize the better, I am your only shield. ”

That said, he didn't give her another second. He scooped her up like before and made a run for it.

They did not stop till his feet entered the Lycan territories. But he got distracted by a commotion inside his pack.

" King David, thank goodness you are back! My oh my! Did my King go for a hunt? You came back with such a beautiful catch. "

It was Nero, a little boy who aspired to be his Beta when he attained his wolf.

David put Aria down." Take her to the Shelter. Ask Gema to give her food and clothes. I will get back to you in the evening, baby girl. I am hoping you will prefer to stay in my pack unless you want to go Rogue. "

He waved goodbye with a wink. As David walked towards the commotion which had initially caught his eye, his gamma, third in command, came forward to address him.

" My King, welcome back. " Gery bowed with respect.

" What do we have here? " David asked.

" Well, the Silver Scales have been at work again. They have managed to find some allies in a few more tribes. Their representatives are here. " Gery hesitated.

" Go on. " David urged.

" They are here accusing you of theft. The Silver Scales claim you stole something very valuable from their land. "

Gery completed without looking David in the eye because it was humiliating.

David on the other hand burst out laughing.

" Interesting. "

He clapped his hands.

" Where are those representatives Gery? " His eyes were turning pinkish which meant he was up to no good.

" They have been waiting for you at the Assembly Hall. They say they won't budge until they have your audience"

" I will be happy to oblige. " David moved forward with a smirk and he kicked the door of the Assembly Hall open.

" Gery says you have been begging to see me!"

David smiled. The Lycan King in his raw was very intimidating.

There were five of them and they immediately walked towards him with their weapons out.

" We are here to take back what you took from us. Give back the girl. "

One yelled on David's face.

David leaped in front of him and ripped his head off with just one slash.

That immediately made the others take a few steps back.

" This will not end well, Lycan King. Our tribes will not allow your tyranny. "

A second one stammered as he exclaimed.

" Really? What if I say no? "

David seemed like he was having a field day. He smashed his skull on the ground and he was immediately a goner, his brain cells and blood spilled on the ground, staining the beautiful rug.

The remaining three began shooting their wolfsbane smeared bullets at him but not even one could touch him.

He was fast. Too fast. He moved like magic as he twisted each one of their necks and they dropped dead on the ground, one by one.

His Gamma watched the action from the sideline with utmost interest.

" Pack them up and send them off to where they came from along with my message. "

Gery walked slowly towards David and asked.

" What will be your message, my King? "

" Just tell their Alphas to meet me personally if they have anything to say. "

David was about to leave when Gery asked, " Is it true that you brought a girl from their tribe in our pack? "

David nodded his head.

" Are you willing to start a war with the neighboring packs for a mere girl? Our pack is not strong enough at the moment, we will suffer consequences. "

It was David's turn to walk slowly back to Gery. He put his hands over Gery's shoulder.

" You will need to learn to trust me, brother. I know I have disappointed you many times before but this time, I am not wrong.

The girl that I brought back, holds my seed inside her womb. ”

Gery's mouth dropped open but he closed them with both hands.

“ Your seed? But you that's impossible until she is… ” David completed Gery's statement with a nod.

“ She is the one Gery. She has been carrying the baby for almost a month. We will get back everything we lost this time.”

But before they could rejoice, a maid rushed inside while hyperventilating.

“ What is this audacity?” Gery turned angrily at her heist.

But she bowed at the Lycan King with a terrified gaze and announced, “ I am sorry for barging in. But the girl that my King brought… ”

David lunged at her.

“ What happened to Aria? ”

“ She fainted all of a sudden, My King. And she is hyperventilating. Her body is turning blueish because she can't breathe. Matron Gema called for you. ”

David did not need to hear that Gema called for him. He was already sprinting. What could have suddenly caused Aria's health to deteriorate like that?

Whatever it was, whoever it was, David was going to find out and make them pay.
