Chapter 1: The Dashing CEO Boyfriend | Telepathy with My Dear Boss

"Help! Somebody help me!"

In the dead of night, a faint cry for help echoed through the cold, deserted alley.

A middle-aged woman, dressed in lavish attire, was cornered by two thugs.

She clutched her purse tightly, shouting desperately in hopes of being rescued.

But it seemed all in vain, as several passersby chose to ignore her predicament.

Just as she was about to give up, a girl with a large birthmark on her neck suddenly appeared at the entrance of the alley, brandishing a brick in one hand and a cellphone in the other toward the thugs.

"Stop! I've called the police!"

The sound of a police siren started to play. The thugs cursed and hastily fled the scene.

Hannah Carter breathed a sigh of relief. She had only played a police siren sound clip. She hadn't had time to call the police.

Luckily, the thugs weren't particularly smart.

As Hannah was feeling fortunate, she didn't notice the woman she had saved staring intently at her neck.

Half a month later, outside an upscale restaurant.

Hannah stormed into the restaurant and splashed coffee on the face of a man who was intimately kissing another woman across the table.

"Zane, you owe me an explanation! Who is this woman?"

Zane Archer's eyes flickered with panic for a moment, but he quickly regained composure. "She's my new girlfriend. You're history. Leave the money for the dry-cleaning and then get lost!"

"Zane!" Hannah was seething with rage. "You cheated on me! Don't push it!"

"Come on. I'm from the Archer family. And who do you think you are? Nothing but a poor wretch from the slums, wearing a cheap shirt, holding a worn-out bag, with a big red birthmark on your neck. Freak!"

Zane's words pierced Hannah's heart, leaving her speechless from the pain.

"You should consider yourself lucky that I was interested in you. No man will ever like a freak!"

"Who says no man will like her?"

A lavishly dressed woman appeared in front of Zane.

"Of course, someone will like this beautiful and kind girl, and that person is far better than you!"

Hannah was stunned.

This elegantly dressed woman was the one who she had saved from thugs half a month earlier!

After being saved, the woman refused to go to the police station. After borrowing Hannah's phone for a call, she was quickly picked up by a luxury car Hannah had never seen before.

Strangely, after that incident, the thugs on the streets seemed to have suddenly disappeared.

But Hannah wasn't focused on guessing why the woman was here. Her entire attention was drawn to the tall man standing beside her.

His tailor-made suit accentuated his handsome and straight posture, his face chiseled, and his demeanor noble yet cold.

"Clyde Lawson! My boss! What's he doing here?" Hannah's eyes widened in shock as she screamed inwardly.

Clyde Lawson appeared somewhat impatient. He wondered why her mother would be interested in this mundane dispute.

Clyde's gaze finally rested on the tear that formed and hung precariously on Hannah's chin.

As Hannah began to cry, the tears fell to the floor.

Clyde averted his gaze. He felt an unexplainable oppression in his chest, a discomfort that led him to think, "Crying over such a disgusting man, this woman is really too lacking in dignity."

"Oh? And who might find such an ugly woman desirable?" Zane scoffed disdainfully. "Did you not see the birthmark on her neck?"

"This is her boyfriend!" Clyde's mother, Juliet Lawson, pushed him forward.

Clyde looked helplessly at his mother.

"I have nothing to do with this woman."

He attempted to leave, but Juliet grabbed his clothes.

"I told you this girl saved me! You must help her out with this trouble!"

"I don't know her." Clyde lowered his head, his patience wearing thin. "Mom, there's no such coincidence in the world. Do you understand what I mean?"

"Hannah, I know you're upset that I rejected you, but there's no need to find a random actor to make a scene, right? And look at them, standing there mumbling to each other. Could they be insane?"

Zane's words interrupted the standoff between Clyde and Juliet.

Hannah looked at Zane with surprise and pity in her eyes, "You say he's an actor? Zane, have you lost your mind? He's Clyde Lawson, the CEO of Horizon Innovations, the sole heir of the Lawson Group."

Hearing this, Clyde frowned at her, his suspicion deepening.

He rarely appeared in public or on social media. How did she know him?

And she coincidentally saved his mother!

Zane sneered, "Do you really thing the CEO of Horizon Innovations would be interested in someone as lowly as you?"

Clyde sneered, "She's right. You've lost your mind."

Hannah turned to Clyde for help.

Clyde observed her, from her eyelashes to her lips.

He didn't like such beautiful yet foolish women. They were completely lacking in self-respect.

But then...

Clyde took a deep breath and summoned the restaurant manager.

Chapter 2: I Will Never Marry a Gold-Digger | Telepathy with My Dear Boss

"I won't breathe the same air as scum, so...

"Please show them out. Thank you."

A group of black-clad bodyguards emerged from all directions and skillfully lifted Zane and his girlfriend up.

Zane cursed loudly.

Just a second before Zane was thrown out, Clyde calmly told him, "The restaurant prohibits loud noises. You're being very rude."

"Thank you for getting me out of that situation. I would have been humiliated by that scumbag if it weren't for you."

Hannah whispered her thanks.

"Don't mention it. I was merely fulfilling a whimsical little request from my mother."

Clyde leaned slightly forward and scrutinized Hannah intently.

"Do you know me?"

"Of course, you're my boss!"

Clyde was surprised, and he frowned disdainfully.

So, it was far from a coincidence that Hannah saved his mother half a month ago!

She created the opportunity to meet him and then clung to him with the intention of using her beauty to marry into wealth and share in the fortune.

Everything was calculated by her!

"Act wisely, miss."

As Clyde turned around, the hem of his coat swiped across Hannah's face. She stumbled backward, and with a slight yelp of pain, her lower back hit the corner of a table. Instinctively, Hannah grabbed at anything she could hold onto. She caught Clyde's hand.

Clyde paused, feeling a piercing pain in his heart.

Hannah hastily stabilized herself with the help of the table. She was about to thank him when she saw Clyde furrowing his brows and quickly letting go of her hand.

Clyde, clutching at his chest, managed to leave the restaurant and get into his car despite the pain.

"To the hospital. And have someone thoroughly investigate this 'kind' lady."

Left standing there, Hannah rubbed her fingers together. The cold touch still lingered on her fingertips.

Clyde's hand was cold, just like his words.

Her boss was as cold-blooded and ruthless as ever.

Hannah had taken her lunch break to confront Zane and had to rush back to the company afterward.

As soon as she returned to her desk, her manager gave her a helpless shake of the head.

"Didn't work out again?" Hannah was almost enraged. "I've revised the plan twenty-three times. My keyboard is nearly worn out. What exactly is he dissatisfied with?"

"Who can ever understand Mr. Lawson's mind?"

"If it really doesn't work, why doesn't he replace me?" "Mr. Lawson has explicitly mentioned that he likes your design style. You are irreplaceable, Ms. Carter."

Just as Hannah was furious, her manager dropped another bombshell. "Also, Mr. Lawson wants you to visit him to discuss his specific requirements in detail."

"What?"

She had just met Clyde at the restaurant half an hour ago.

...

"I will never marry a gold-digger. Forget it, mom!"

Clyde said coldly on the phone in his office.

"But Clyde, I like her. She's kind-hearted. She saved me. Offering my son in marriage as a reward is reasonable, isn't it?"

The office door was knocked right then, giving Clyde a chance to hang up.

"The designer is here. I need to finalize the draft for your vacation villa. Do not bother me for now."

Juliet wanted to go on persuading him, but she fell oddly silent for a dozen seconds.

"Oh, get along well with the designer." She paused and then added, "Offer her a drink, and don't scare her."

Clyde gave the phone a strange look. It was indeed his haughty and proud biological mother on the line.

"Come in." After hanging up the phone, Clyde glanced at the twenty-three versions of the plan.

They were devoid of any creativity.

He looked up to see an unexpected person. "You again?"

Hannah pursed her lips in embarrassment. "I am the designated seaside villa designer you requested."

Clyde's frown deepened. "This woman is really plotting every step. To get my attention, she even joined my company. Did she deliberately make such trashy proposals to attract my attention?"

Clyde gave her a sidelong glance, spotting the name on her work badge, Hannah Carter. He suddenly remembered overhearing some male colleagues' chat, "That new girl, Hannah Carter, is really charming." "Super hot! She's like Marilyn Monroe with a birthmark."

Hannah asked carefully, "Is there any problem with the twenty-third edition of the plan?"

Clyde handed her all the paper drafts.

"Wait for me in the underground parking after work and come home with me."

Hannah felt anger rising.

Wasn't this sexual harassment?
