The blazing sun of June made everything feel suffocating.
Felicia Baroni stepped out of a hospital room, her heart heavy with worry.
Her mother was critically ill and needed a hefty sum for treatment.
To make matters worse, her father was deep into gambling, leaving the family drowning in debt and with no extra money to pay back.
In Felicia's eyes, everything in this world seemed to be shrouded in darkness. She sank into a chair outside the hospital, weighing which friends or family members might be able to lend her some money.
Just then, her phone buzzed in her pocket. She pulled it out and saw an unknown number flashing on the screen.
After a brief pause, she decided to pick it up.
A low, icy voice came through the line, "Hello, is this Felicia Baroni?"
"Yeah. Who's calling?"
"Hello, Miss Baroni. We're a well-regarded surrogacy agency. A client has chosen your exceptional genetics, and you could receive two hundred thousand dollars if you take this order."
Felicia's fingers started to shake.
"Two hundred thousand dollars?" She echoed, almost in disbelief.
She realized that with that kind of money, she could stop worrying about her mom's medical bills.
But just then, her screen lit up again with another payment reminder from the hospital.
Her mom was facing a daunting $100,000 medical bill.
Tears began to form in Felicia's eyes as she took a deep breath, her fingers shaking a little as she held her phone. She managed to say, "Deal."
"Great, we'll pick you up at 5 PM," the voice on the other end replied.
Felicia was lost in thought once the call ended.
She couldn't help but wonder about the man who had chosen her and what was his story. She wondered why he was looking for a surrogate and what made him so urgent.
"Is he dying and desperate for someone to carry on his legacy?" She wondered aloud.
She didn't let herself linger on those thoughts for too long. Rising to head to the restroom, she planned to wait outside the hospital afterward.
But as soon as she stepped out, she suddenly found herself trapped against a wall by two men. Seeing them clearly sent her instincts into overdrive, and she tried to bolt, but they grabbed her roughly.
"You think you can just run away?" sneered one of the guys with a scar snaking across his face.
Felicia was shaken with fear.
A blonde guy beside him bent down, gripping her chin tightly and said, "Listen, sweetheart, your dad owes us a lot of money. If he doesn't pay us soon, we might just sell you to a nightclub."
Panic surged in Felicia as she begged, "Please, just give me two more days! I promise I'll pay you back."
The two guys grinned as soon as they sized up her pretty face. One of them sneered, "Looks like your dad won't be able to settle his debt. You might as well stop fighting it. Or why not let us have a little fun first with you? Maybe we'll give you an extra week."
They said with a lewd laugh.
"Stay away from me!" Felicia shouted, her face draining of color. "Help! Somebody, please!"
But before she could get another word out, one of the men slapped her hard, whipping her head to the side, then yanked her arm and dragged her into the nearby men's restroom.
The two men covered her mouth, chuckling menacingly. "Don't worry, we'll make sure you enjoy it," one of them said with a nasty grin.
Felicia hid her face. Tears threatened to spill over, but she fought to keep them in. She clutched her clothes tightly and backed away, pleading, "Please, just let me go! I'll pay you in a few days. I found a surrogacy opportunity, and they need me to be a virgin. If I pull this off, I'll get two hundred thousand bucks, and I promise I'll pay you back!"
The two men exchanged a glance, and both let out a quiet snicker.
"Surrogacy, huh? You must be kidding! Even if you're working for some rich people, there's no way they'd pay you that much," the blond guy said, his laughter wild and twisted as he started tearing at Felicia's clothes. He pushed her onto the glass counter, his hands wandering over her as he muttered some disgusting words.
Felicia fought back and yelled for them to leave her alone.
The scarred guy slammed the restroom door shut, clearly excited. "You're screaming so hard I can't wait any longer," he taunted.
But then, out of nowhere, someone kicked the door open.
The scar-faced man was slammed against the wall with a muffled grunt, doubling over in pain.
With a surge of adrenaline, Felicia used all her strength to fend off the blonde guy when she heard the commotion. Her eyes lit up as she turned toward the door.
A handsome man stood there, his striking deep eyes gleaming like polished stones, giving off a chilling intensity that made it hard to look directly at him.
His high, straight nose and commanding presence seemed to shout for others to keep their distance.
Felicia didn't know who he was, but she clung to him like he was her only hope. She hurried to his side and grabbed his sleeve tightly, desperation in her voice as she asked, "Please save me."

Jadon Powell frowned as he took in the sight of the young woman in front of him with her top ripped and torn. She was undeniably pretty, and the tears in her eyes sparkled like morning dew. Still, she radiated a sense of purity and freshness.
He usually tended to stay out of other people's business, but something about seeing her being bullied stirred an impulse in him to teach those two jerks a lesson they wouldn't forget.
He shot a quick glance at the two men, his cold, intense eyes narrowing into a dangerous glare.
His presence made the restroom feel oppressively tight and almost stifling.
The two hooligans were clearly rattled, angrily pointing at Jadon and barking, "You better stay out of this. If you get in our way and we can't have fun with her, you're just asking for trouble!"
Ignoring Felicia, who was visibly shaken, Jadon stepped in front of her, his gaze locked onto the two thugs, full of disdain. "You think I'm just asking for trouble, right?"
Jadon's tone was steady but with an underlying intensity that suggested a storm was brewing beneath the surface.
The blonde guy and the scarred one shared a quick look, and they took a step back without even realizing it. It was pretty obvious they were rattled by just a glance from Jadon, which only fueled their anger and embarrassment. The blonde pulled out a knife and pointed it at Jadon, shouting, "You're the one asking for trouble, so don't blame me for showing no mercy!"
Meanwhile, Felicia was hidden behind Jadon, shaking with fear. But when she saw the thugs waving weapons around, her instincts kicked in. She grabbed Jadon's arm and tugged him aside, summoning all her courage to stand in front of him. "Please don't hurt anyone innocent. This has nothing to do with him," she pleaded.
Then, she turned back to Jadon, urgency in her voice, "You should really get out of here!"
"Step aside. Let me handle this," Jadon said as he narrowed his eyes. He noticed how scared she looked, as her legs kept trembling and her face pale, yet she was still trying to protect him.
Her courage and kindness impressed him.
The blonde sneered, "Listen, dude. If you want to play the hero, you better know your limits. With that skinny frame of yours, taking you down would be as easy as pie for me."
Jadon shoved Felicia aside and then quickly kicked the blonde guy down, sending the knife skidding away.
The scar-faced thug didn't see that coming at all. After a brief pause, he charged at Jadon but got hit with a punch that felt like a sledgehammer. He crumpled to the ground and didn't move for a while.
Felicia stood there, completely stunned. "Wow, you're incredible!" she exclaimed.
With a flat look on his face, Jadon turned on the tap and casually washed his hands like he was getting rid of some grime from dealing with those two losers. The way his movements were smooth and composed caught her eye.
"What are you still standing there for? Let's go!" Jadon asked coldly, drying his hands before he opened the door and walked out without looking back.
Felicia glanced at the two thugs on the floor and hurried after Jadon. She wanted to thank him, but once she stepped outside, she realized that he was nowhere to be found.
Later that evening, Felicia nervously waited at the spot she agreed on with the surrogacy company. Just then, a sleek black Maybach pulled up, and the driver politely asked through the partly down window, "Hello. Are you Miss Baroni?"
Felicia nodded in response. The driver showed her some files about the order, and she took a deep breath before climbing into the car.
...
Before long, the car pulled up to an impressive luxurious mansion.
As Felicia stepped out of the car, a sharply dressed butler approached her and motioned for her to follow him. She had no other choice but to go along. The grounds were stunning, with fountains and sculptures decorating the lush lawns and grand architecture. It felt like a scene straight out of a movie.
Once inside the mansion, they entered a grand hall that was lit up by a massive crystal chandelier. Beautiful artwork decorated the walls, and everything screamed elegance and luxury.
The butler eventually guided her to a medical examination room, where a private doctor carried out a series of checks on her, including an examination to confirm her virginity.
"We apologize about that, Miss Baroni," the butler explained. "Mr. Powell is quite particular about cleanliness. He wants his child to be perfect, from the genes right down to delivery."
His meaning was clear: she had to be a virgin to do this job.
After the doctor confirmed she was in good health, the butler signaled for a maid to take her to a lavish bedroom.
After freshening up, Felicia perched on the edge of the bed, wrapped snugly in a white bathrobe, while a maid gently dried her hair. The only sound in the air was the hum of the hairdryer, and it made the whole atmosphere feel a bit tense.
The room turned quiet once her hair was completely dry. The maid bent down to glance at the bed and said, "Miss Baroni, the butler has asked you to wait here for Mr. Powell and not to wander around."
Felicia nodded in response.
The maid then slipped out without another word and flicked off the lights, casting the room into a soft darkness that felt almost eerie.
Felicia couldn't shake off the thought that the man who would soon take her virginity was a complete stranger. The worst part was that she didn't even know anything about him, not even how tall he was or what he looked like. She knew she was supposed to lie here and wait for whatever was coming next.
Suddenly, the door creaked open, and a tall young man walked in.
He exuded a calm confidence as he approached the bed, stopping right beside her.
Felicia shifted a bit nervously and managed to stutter, "Hi, are you Mr. Powell?"
"I am," he replied. His voice was deep and sharp, almost robotic, and totally lacking in emotion. He stripped off his clothes, climbed into bed, and lay back down as if he was just going through the motions. It felt less like sex and more like a routine—bland and devoid of any emotion.
"Mr. Powell, I..." Felicia said as she gripped the blanket tighter, feeling vulnerable. His breath was so close that she felt cornered.
"What's the matter? You don't look like you're here willingly." He asked after noticing that she was trembling from nerves. However, he still used a flat tone and showed no sign of empathy.
Felicia recognized his strikingly handsome features in the soft light and felt her heart race.
The man in front of her was the same one who had stepped in to scare off those debt collectors earlier that day. He was her hero.
