Chapter 1 | The CEO's Wicked Seduction

The charge levelled against me by my father was the most absurd thing I had ever heard in my life! His demeanor revealed a great deal about him, and I couldn't believe he was my father. I shook my head in amazement.

”Scammed? He is not a con artist!” When I stood up for my boyfriend against his charges, he burst out laughing in response. The fact that he doubted my ability to assess a person's character was insulting to me!

“So, who exactly is he? An opportunistic gold-digger?” he shouted.

Despite my best efforts, he continued to degrade the man I loved the most, and every time he opened his blasted mouth, I wanted to slap him in the face to silence him, but I couldn't be violent towards my father.

“I recently found out that you took a sizable sum of money out of your savings,” he added.

“Dad, you're harsh and judgmental, to say the least! Just because someone is not well-off does not imply that he is an opportunist!”

Upon hearing my explanation, he grinned.

“Wait till your bank account balance is zero!”

The sound of his yelling resonated around the room, and I was shocked when I heard it for the first time. After that, he took a big breath and looked at me with the eyes of a worried parent.

“You’re young and naïve, and that man used you to his advantage! You shouldn’t see him again,” he warned me.

“But I love him, Dad,” I explained.

“Love will not feed you,” he said.

“I know. Your money feeds me, but I am barely alive! There’s no love in this house, Dad!”

“My God, Selena! You’re no longer a child to have this kind of tantrums! Get a hold of yourself and leave him while you still can,” he suggested.

“I can't bear the thought of leaving him!” Even though I remained solid in my determination never to betray our relationship, my father was enraged and refused to let go of my hand. He clung to me as if he was afraid I was going to evaporate into thin air!

Felix Montes looked at me with a frown and narrowed his eyes.

“Are you certain? Is it better for me to let him suffer then?”

My father was a terrifying figure, and when he threatened to punish my boyfriend because of my stubbornness, I closed my eyes before sending him a text.

“Don't you think it's a little late to be a good father at this point? You’ve never cared for me ever since I was a child! I despise you!”

“Can’t you understand why I’m doing this, dear? It’s to protect you from an opportunist like your boyfriend.”

He insisted that my boyfriend was a gold-digging bastard, and his accusations hurt me.

“He is different, Dad,” I informed him, but he just snorted. Then, he called one of his men to show me something, and I was dumbfounded to see my boyfriend with another woman.

“His wife is pretty, isn’t she?”

“His wife?”

I was shocked to hear that the woman was his wife. I assumed that it was just a fling or a close acquaintance or a friend, perhaps. A wife was something I hadn’t expected. I shook my head in disbelief that for more than two months, he was only fooling me.

“It’s not true.”

I refused to believe the footage that was shown to me.

“His wife is ill, and last week, she had a major operation,” he continued.

“Last week?”

Last week, he borrowed a huge amount of money from me because of his parents. No, he wouldn’t do that to me, right?

“Why don’t you call him, Selena? I heard that the operation was successful,” he challenged me.

“I will.”

I took up the challenge and immediately dialed his number. I couldn’t reach him on my first attempt, so I tried again. I kept on trying, but his number was unreachable.

“I can’t reach him,” I whispered.

“You already know the reason why. It’s not the first time that someone duped you after using you for your kindness,” he reminded me.

For a moment, it seemed like half of my body was numb, and the other half screamed in anguish. I tried to remain calm, but suddenly, my entire body was shaking. I was weak and weary, and it took all of my remaining strength to continue fighting.

Before giving up, I tried one more time, but it had the same result. I couldn’t reach him, and when I glanced at my father, he looked at me with pity in his eyes. I averted my gaze because I was ashamed that someone dared to dupe me again!

“I want to be alone,” I told him as soon as I realized that he wasn’t wrong about the man that I have been dating for two months.

“Take your time, Selena. Go on and take a rest,” he suggested.

When they left me alone, I tried calling my boyfriend’s number again, but it was still out of the coverage area. I kept on trying until I realized that I didn’t deserve to be played like a fool!

I was Selena Montes, and my father’s wealth could make anyone appear poor, including the entire Salcedo Family! Why should I keep selling myself short? I deserved someone better! I deserved someone who would be loyal and true to me!

I deserved the best!

I was deep in thoughts when my nanny walked through the door with a tray of food.

“Aunt, from now on, I will have my meals in the dining room.”

She was shocked to hear my announcement because it had never happened before.

”Just take it back, and I’ll be there in a minute.”

“Are you sure, Selena?” she inquired.

“Yes,” I replied. “However, you have to prepare something tastier for me this time.”

Although she scowled at my remark, and I felt horrible for making her feel uncomfortable, I had no desire to eat the food she prepared for me.

“Are you still heartbroken?”

My life would be a living nightmare if it weren't for my nanny’s kindness. When I expressed my dissatisfaction to the older woman, she smiled.

“He's a jerk, and I despise him to my core!”

“Is that about your boyfriend or your father?”

“Daddy is so overbearing lately, and I hate him! Why can’t he just let me have fun and live my life according to my wishes?”

“Your father wants to protect you from that man, Selena. You won’t be able to notice it, but it was obvious to us that he was only after your money.”

She sympathized with my father, and I didn’t like it!

“Your boyfriend was a hustler, and Felix was correct in his assessment of your boyfriend’s ability to seduce an innocent woman.”

I arched my brows towards my nanny for being nosy about my business.

“I don’t think I like your opinion, Aunt Jenny.”

“Are you upset with me, Selena?”

When she asked this, her voice became shaky.

“What do you think, Aunt Jenny? I didn't expect you to be the one to let me down, given your reputation around here!”

Aunt Jenny only glared at me with a blank expression on her face as I confessed my genuine feelings to her.

“I'm leaving now,” she said, and I didn't say anything back to her.

Sleep had always been my preferred method of escaping from reality, and as soon as Aunt Jenny departed, I closed my eyes and forced myself to sleep as quickly as I could.

However, I was awakened by someone a few hours later, and as I opened my eyes, I saw my father standing beside my bed. I scowled at him before closing my eyes for the second time, but he didn't move.

“Just leave me alone,” I begged him before wrapping the coverlet around my entire body.

“I have arranged your marriage to my friend’s son,” he suddenly announced.

For a moment, I stared at my father, but the blank expression on his face made it impossible to decipher his true feelings about my arranged marriage.

“No. You are not serious, are you?”

“Unfortunately, I am. The wedding is set three months from now,” he continued.

“Dad! How can you do this to me? I want to marry for love!”

“That’s bullshit, Selena! Whether you like it or not, you’re going to marry the man I’ve chosen for you in three months!”

Chapter 2 | The CEO's Wicked Seduction

While driving, I took several deep breaths and let out a huge sigh as I managed to flee from my guards. After he arranged my marriage to a stranger, he assigned several people to watch over me.

I was a prisoner in my own home, and I didn’t want to keep it that way! So, I decided to leave for good. I felt terrible for misleading Aunt Jenny and some of the guards, but I had no choice.

I wanted the freedom to travel and experience the outside world, which had been out of reach for me for a while. Being aware that it was a dangerous road, I was driving slowly while travelling down the winding path.

I was in a hurry and bothered simultaneously, so seeing a truck losing control terrified me. As the truck made contact with the asphalt, I let out a frightened cry and began to tremble violently.

After seeing the twisted wreckage of the truck, my hands began to shake with fear, and it took me a while to realize that someone was in dire need of help, and I was the only person in the area.

For a moment, I contemplated if I should stop to provide some assistance, but I was nervous that my father’s men would soon catch up with me. I couldn’t ignore the situation, though.

I parked on the side of the road, and as soon as I got out of my car, I sprinted to the severely damaged vehicle.

Unfortunately, no one was in the vehicle when I arrived, so I had to leave. Was that remote-controlled or something else? I didn't believe it was possible, and when I finally had the courage to act as a hero, I attempted to keep my shriek under wraps when I spotted an injured person concealed behind a massive boulder. Even though his appearance upset me, I was required to check his pulse because it was the right thing to do.

“Oh my God!” I exclaimed when I couldn’t feel his pulse.

I checked for a second time to make sure the guy was actually gone, but once I realized he was no longer alive, I burst into tears. Being alone with a deceased person was terrible, and I badly needed someone to come to my rescue!

I had been staring at the corpse for quite some time, and I refused to leave him alone. It was almost dark, so I was worried for my safety, but until someone came to take his body, I wouldn’t leave him. It was the right thing to do.

I called 911 for help, but it would take them some time to reach my location. While staring at the lifeless body, I began to think there could be a chance I just missed his pulse.

Maybe he was alive and in need of resuscitation!

I heaved a deep sigh and reached for the handkerchief that had been stashed in the rear pocket of my pants. I took it and used it to wipe the blood off the stranger's face.

My stomach clenched as I looked into the stranger's mouth, and after taking a few steps closer, I was more scared to perform mouth to mouth!

Should I do it?

“Hey, can you hear me?” I tried to talk to him, but there was no response. Any minute, it would be dark, so I wished that help would arrive immediately. I knew it was stupid to ask him when he’s lying there unconsciously.

I tried to clean his face using my handkerchief, but it was impossible to clean him thoroughly. He was bleeding badly, and I had to stop some of his wounds by binding them with cloth from my dress.

I called 911 again, and the woman said that they were on the way. I had almost given up on him when I noticed that his fingers moved! It felt like a miracle, and I suddenly went over to him to check.

“Hang in there, sir. Help is coming,” I told him, but the man flinched away when I touched his arm. “I'm not going to hurt you,” I assured him, extending my hands in a motion to show that I wanted to help him.

At that moment, I wished I studied medicine to know how to save his life. I prayed that the rescue team would arrive as soon as possible. I was glad when I heard that a vehicle was coming.

“Wait a minute,” I informed the injured man, but he suddenly grabbed my leg, which caused me to shriek before falling onto the hard ground. I was trying to get up when a group of men emerged from a black sedan, and they were staring at me.

Suddenly, I realized that everything was a set-up. When I turned around, the injured man was already on his feet and laughing at me for being naïve and ignorant. I was caught in their trap, and whoever they might be, I was positive that they knew my real identity. They knew that my father was Felix Montes, and he would be ready to pay ransom money if they asked for it.

“Don’t hurt me,” I begged for my life when their leader walked towards me.

“Why are you alone in the road, miss?” he inquired.

“Don’t touch me, you bastard!” I screamed and cursed at the man who dared to lay a finger on my skin. He looked insulted but didn’t hurt me. Instead, he glanced at his cronies, and they all laughed together.

“She looks fragile, boss. Can she last in bed for ten hours? Can she take all of us?”

My eyes widened at the realization that they meant to use me as their whore! No way!

“Over my dead body,” I mumbled in between sobs of fear.

They just laughed at my statement.

“Strip her.”

“No!” I screamed as soon as the boss ordered his cronies to strip off my clothes. “You can’t do this to me!”

“Why not?”

“The authorities are coming!” I tried to scare them away, but they only burst out into laughter.

“She called 911,” the supposedly injured man said.

“Smart woman. Alright, boys, let’s take her somewhere else,” he ordered.

“No!” I wiggled my body to get away from them, but they were so strong, and fighting against their strength was futile. I kicked my legs and refused to walk when one of his men suddenly carried me on his shoulders. “Put me down! Put me down, you bastard!”

I screamed as loud as I could, but they were positive that nobody would hear me and continued to ignore my screams. Suddenly, a car was coming fast towards the sedan, and I screamed some more when a red car collided with the black sedan.

“Must be a drunk man, boss.”

“Kill the driver!”

The leader issued his command, and soon, the driver was forced out of his car. I tried to close my eyes to the violence before me, but the newcomer was putting up a fight!

When someone pulled a gun and aimed it at the driver, I screamed, but the driver failed to hear me because of the commotion. I decided to help him because if he was going to survive, there was a good chance that he would help me, too.

I picked up a stone and aimed it at the man who pulled out the gun.

The driver ran towards me and grabbed my hand. I was surprised at his action, but I was too scared to say anything. I let him lead the way, and we ran as fast as we could until we reached my car.

“Hurry up!”

“They’re following us!” I warned him as soon as I saw the bastards running towards us.

“Let’s go now!” he ordered, and I almost fainted in shock when he maneuvered the vehicle.

“Thank you for saving my life, sir.”

“Are you alright?” he inquired.

“I think I am,” I replied in a weak voice.

“You should be careful next time,” he warned me. “Where should I take you from here?”

Maybe it’s because of the extreme shock for almost dying in the hands of those barbarians that I gave him my home address. It was too late when I realized my mistake.
