Chapter 1 | The Devil Billionaire's Desire

"I...I'll ....have another glass, please," Reina muttered, her voice slurring as she finished her eighth glass and motioned for another. The bartender sighed, his eyes filled with quiet concern. People who drank like this were either regulars or burdened by something heavy.

Reina didn’t resemble a hardened drinker when she first stepped into the hotel bar. She looked more like someone who had lost a part of herself. Her face was pale, almost ghost-like. He knew it wasn’t his place to intervene, but watching her unravel, he felt a sense of responsibility. He couldn’t stand by and let her ruin herself.

"I apologize, ma'am, but it seems you've consumed quite a bit." The bartender replied courteously as he cleaned a few damp glasses with a napkin. The establishment was already closing due to the low number of customers this evening. Weekdays lacked the same vibrancy as weekends.

"I... I'll cover it, I... I can manage," Reina's sight was beginning to fade, her words coming out in a slur. The bartender was not in the mood for it. He couldn't allow her to lose consciousness in the bar due to drinking too much. This hotel was of the highest quality, managed by mafia leaders, yet this bar operated under tight restrictions.

Reina didn't hear his next words as memories of what happened earlier flooded her mind.

**Flashback

Reina was at work, thinking of her boyfriend, Josh who had cancer and was currently at the hospital. Unable to afford treatment, Reina took care if everything, hoping he would get better and marry her like he promised. Her thoughts were cut shirt when Mr. Jenkins approached her with a certain news.

"I regret to inform you, Miss Reina Peters, that we no longer require your services," he said. He was a middle-aged man, who held a position below Reina, with a tone of regret. He was aware that this was incorrect, yet he felt powerless to act.

Reina found it impossible to feel angry and instead erupted into laughter. "I can't be dismissed; I was the one who hired you. I’m in charge here," she shot back.

She had just finished a meeting with several business experts interested in obtaining some products from her father's company. She was excited about a deal that amounted to millions of dollars.

"That’s no longer the case, Miss Peters. There have been some adjustments, and I have been appointed as the Managing Director," Mr. Jenkins said softly. He was aware that he was unworthy of the role.

Reina excelled in her role and was an exceptional leader. However, Mr. Jenkins had a family to support—a wife and child. How could he possibly turn down the directive?

Reina found Mr. Jenkins to be absurd. Her dad had been shot dead only a month prior, and his remains had yet to be found. As the current Managing Director, it seemed ridiculous to have her role taken away without her knowledge.

Since graduating from college two years ago, she had dedicated herself completely to the company. She hadn’t even considered claiming anything until her father's body was discovered, confirmed deceased, and laid to rest. But someone had already taken action before her.

"Who’s responsible for that ridiculous decision?" Anger simmered within her.

"Your father’s wife," Mr. Jenkins revealed.

Reina was annoyed. Her stepmother was someone she had worked with during her time in college. Reina and Linda were once friends, but their friendship ended when Reina noticed Linda's interest in her dad during school pick-ups.

Two months later, Linda's father returned home with her, declaring that they were engaged. At fifty five, Reina’s father remained appealing, but marrying someone as young as his daughter wasn’t ideal. Reina tried to persuade him against it, but he remained unyielding.

She had no idea how Linda managed to contact her father and how their situation intensified two years prior. At that moment, Linda became her stepmother—a term Reina always rejected, as it filled her with disgust.

"Seriously? Where is she?" Reina asked, livid.

There was no doubt about it. Linda wanted everything her father owned. She recoiled at the idea. Linda was a verdant serpent amidst the lush greenery.

Mr. Jenkins said, “She transmitted the instructions from her residence, so I assume she is at home.”

Reina felt increasingly frustrated. How was she going to take care of Josh? Linda wouldn’t dare. Linda had remained at home and arranged her dismissal from the multimillion-dollar business. It was deeply unsettling.

"I'll return, do you understand? I'll return," she fumed and stormed out of the office.

The middle-aged man sighed and quietly spoke to himself. "I believe not, Miss Peters." How could he inform her that orders had been issued to prevent her from entering the company the moment she left?

Additionally, there were only ten minutes left until closing, and the journey to her mansion would take an hour and a half. Mr. Jenkins nodded his head in understanding.

What did her deceased father find appealing in that unpleasant woman?

The journey to Reina’s father's estate was at an alarming pace. She halted the car, leaving the engine running, then dashed into the mansion.

She arrived quite late. "Linda, Linda…" she started shouting from the living room.

The housekeeper attempted to intervene, but there was no reply. "Miss Peters, kindly wait, she is currently resting."

"I'll wake her then," Reina said with enthusiasm. How could Linda sleep after what she had just done?

The housekeeper said politely, “She prefers not to be interrupted," blocking the staircase with her ample figure.

Reina realized the reason Linda couldn’t hear her. The bedrooms were soundproof.

"Back off," she hissed, seething with fury intense enough to incinerate the entire estate.

"Miss Peters," the housekeeper implored. With her master's passing, his wife had taken charge, and she was compelled to follow her commands.

"I instructed you to back off."

The housekeeper stepped back at the sight of Reina’s furious demeanor. Reina hurried to the master bedroom, forcefully opening the door.

She halted abruptly, her heart dropped, so did her mouth. Her ears were filled with Linda's whimpers, while Linda was bent over in a doggy position, pounding into her rigorously was no other than Josh who was supposed to be at the so called hospital. They were so lost in pleasure that they didn’t even hear her come in.

Reina felt a wave of revulsion. Anguish pierced her heart, and the purpose of her visit slipped from her mind. She brushed away a tear and started to walk away but then collided with something. She was uncertain about the cause, but the sound was sufficient to catch their attention.

"Damn it," her boyfriend, was shielding his arousal while concealing his face.

Linda felt no regret. She wrapped a silky robe around her alluring naked body while Josh quickly put on his pants.

"What are you looking for in my room?" Linda asked with a sense of tranquility, filling her glass with wine.

Reina experienced a sense of being overwhelmed. This room belonged to her father. Even in death, it shouldn't be tarnished, yet her focus right now was on the company.

"How could you possibly expel me from the company, you disgraceful woman? You didn’t even grieve for your husband and have already moved on to someone else," Reina exclaimed, too repulsed to refer to Josh as her partner.

"Be careful with your words, or I'll do that for you," Linda said furiously. She let the wine glass fall onto the side table and strode confidently toward Reina.

She knew gaining Reina's respect was impossible. Still, Linda always felt a sense of envy toward her. She desired everything Reina possessed—her father, her partner—but no matter her efforts, Reina remained steadfast and unyielding.

"What is holding you back? You don't have the authority to remove me from the company. I worked hard to earn the MD position, unlike you, who obtained it simply because of your title."

Linda had emerged victorious, yet everything felt so sour. Reina’s excessive level of respectability was a state she could never attain.

"Well, I took over the company, and I have no desire to collaborate with someone like you."

Reina's jaw tightened, her teeth pressed together. "My dad would never leave his business for someone like you."

Linda was hurt by those words. Reina was right. Adam Peters hadn’t included Linda’s name in any of his assets—aside from her weekly allowances—despite all her efforts to persuade him to do so.

It was a harsh reality, and Linda endured immense suffering to attain all that she did in merely two months.

Hi guys, it’s Reina and Denver’s story. Enjoy. XOXO

Chapter 2 | The Devil Billionaire's Desire

"This is a record indicating that,” she hurled a pile of papers at Reina, who chose not to pay any attention to it."

"Lies."

Linda shook a bit. How was Reina able to see right through her? How could she possess intelligence when they were the same age?

She lowered herself and gathered the documents, presenting them to Reina at a close distance. "Well it’s true. Signed and stamped.”

"Forgery," Reina hissed, her eyes filled with anger. Reina sensed something was amiss. Her intuition was powerful. It was something her deceased father used to appreciate in her. He mentioned that each day during her mother's pregnancy, he prayed for a son but ended up with a daughter. He felt discontent, yet as Reina matured, he grew to take pride in her.

"Show me evidence or leave," Linda shouted furiously.

Reina could discover the truth if she didn’t quickly sell the business, the estate, and all other possessions. Nevertheless, it would require several months for her to accomplish that because of the board of directors. Linda needed to sleep with many of them to secure their support for Reina's dismissal.

It wasn’t as ideal as others perceived it. Reina was confident in all she did. She couldn't make unfounded accusations until she demonstrated that the documents were falsified. At this moment, she felt exhausted. She had experienced significant loss in a single day.

"This is not the end. We'll resolve this within the company. This room smells terrible," she remarked and pivoted, halting abruptly at the sound of Linda's following words.

"You are no longer allowed on the premises of the company."

"I am," Reina replied resolutely. She was determined not to allow her adversary to come out on top.

"I'll have you arrested for trespassing," Linda warned. If she permitted Reina to join the company, it could jeopardize her situation.

Reina wasn’t handling it well; her eyes were filled with anger as she stormed back toward Linda, spitting her words. "You deceitful traitor. I assure you, you will not escape the consequences of this." Slap.

Reina's cheeks flushed, yet her restless hands remained unrestrained. She sent it back firmly, with greater force. Linda stumbled and collapsed onto the bed.

"Reina, please listen to me," her boyfriend unexpectedly spoke up.

If he had remained silent, Reina would have overlooked his presence entirely, as her heart shut him out the instant she laid eyes on him in this space.

For how long had they been doing this without her knowledge? She was completely unaware. She was constantly occupied with business affairs.

They started their relationship in her last year of college, and they held mutual respect for one another.

She was happy about avoiding marriage with him and wished she had never loved him. She recoiled as he came closer, her eyes filled with disdain.

"Refrain from speaking. Your mouth reeks, so keep your distance; you reek of decayed vagina and lies from the deepest part of hell."

Josh's expression soured when he caught sight of Reina walking away. Embarrassment chilled him like frost.

He did not have any love for Linda. He was merely acting this way because she seduced him. He was drawn in because Reina was always too busy for intimacy, and a man has his desires.

The most troubling part was that Linda had compelled him to engage in actions he had never taken before—actions that were illegal and could result in a life sentence. Consequently, he became her devoted companion.

"If you return here, you'll be taken into custody, and don't lay a finger on any car," Linda shouted after Reina.

How could Reina say something so humiliating to her? Referring to her pussy as decayed? She would make certain that Reina’s existence turns into a living hell.

Reina no longer felt the necessity to resist. She required a suitable location to organize. A space for contemplation, distant from the tainted residence she previously referred to as home.

She returned to the car and grabbed her handbag. It held her essential papers and personal belongings. As the chilly spring wind brushed against her, she kept strolling through the streets p and called her friend's number.

"Maya, I’m looking for somewhere to stay tonight," she said right after Maya picked up the phone.

Maya and Sasha were her best friends and the only people she could depend on during such a moment. Nonetheless, Maya's reply took her by surprise.

"Book a hotel."

"Are you serious?" Reina was unable to trust what she was hearing. Was Maya inebriated?

"I can't. My boyfriend is present," Maya replied with a hint of regret.

Reina felt perplexed. "How is that relevant to me?"

Maya said frankly, "It’s not what you think. I can't allow you to come in tonight."

"Maya?"

The connection was lost. Reina's visage was puffy from tears that had yet to fall. With a tight swallow, she called Sasha's number, but it was out of reach, so she left a message and kept walking.

Sasha worked as a flight attendant, so her unavailability indicated that she was out of range.

Reina held herself responsible. She gave up a lot for the company, leaving her with little time for her friends. Left with no choice, she followed Maya's suggestion and booked a hotel stay.

Once she received the card for her room, she made her way to the bar. Her heart felt incredibly burdened, as if it might drop at any moment. She aimed to make it more enjoyable with some strong drinks.

Following the consumption of six glasses of alcohol, the bar's door swung open. A woman dressed entirely in black, resembling a secret agent, positioned herself at the entrance, a faint smile playing at the edges of her mouth.

If her mother had not passed away while giving birth, she would have remarked that certain characteristics of the woman reminded her of the images she had seen of her mother. Reina believed her assessment stemmed from the surge of alcohol.

In the moment she blinked, the door shut, and the woman vanished.

"Eerie," she whispered under her breath as she kept drinking herself into a state of weakness.
