Chapter 1 Caught Off Guard | The Mysterious Bad Boy

A graceful woman hurriedly dashed through a carved gate, sweat dripping down her smooth forehead, a hint of blush on her small face due to nervousness. "Dad, your heart..."

As soon as Aurora Blaze entered, she was intercepted by a maid.

"Miss Aurora, you're back." The butler's voice was loud, letting everyone in the house know she had returned.

Aurora couldn't help but furrow her brows slightly at the sight. Before she could react, a slender figure came towards her.

Her hair, black as a waterfall, cascaded down, her face petite, her eyes clear and bright. She was undoubtedly beautiful.

"Aurora, you're finally back!"

Ella Blaze enthusiastically approached with a hint of triumph on her face.

Without even looking at her, Aurora walked past Ella straight to the living room, where her father, Elmer Blaze, was sitting on the sofa waiting for her.

Aurora stared earnestly at Elmer. Although his face was pale, there was no sign of illness, and upon seeing her, he avoided her gaze, seeming unwilling to face her directly, which startled her.

She had been wary of Jane Blaze and her daughter, Ella. However, she had never suspected her own father of deceiving her.

"Speak up, what's the purpose of tricking me into coming back?" Aurora's voice was cold, filled with sarcasm.

She didn't believe her father would feign illness and deceive her for no reason.

"Aurora, don't speak so harshly. Your father and I worked hard to get you bailed out. Since you didn't come home, we had no choice but to find a way to make you come back. Is that wrong?" Jane looked at Aurora with blame.

Hearing this, Aurora couldn't help but sneer. "Do I have to thank your well-raised daughter for seducing my fiancé, whom I ended up catching in bed with her? You know better than me why I ended up in the police station."

Jane exclaimed, "You!"

Jane's face flushed with anger. She raised her hand to hit Aurora, but Elmer's reprimand forced her to stop, "Stop making a fool of yourself!"

Jane wanted to plead, "Honey..."

Elmer ignored Jane, his gaze fixed on Aurora while sighing heavily. "The company's been tight on cash flow lately. Lamora Corporation finally agreed to inject capital, but Mrs. Kelsey Lamora made a condition... She specifically requested your sister to marry into their family..."

Aurora asked, "What does Ella's affair have to do with me?"

Elmer's eyes flickered, his lips trembling slightly. "Aurora, can I… ask you to take your sister’s place and marry into the Lamora family? You know that the Lamora family is one of the top aristocratic families in the country. We can't afford to offend them... If you marry over there, you'll be the young mistress of the Lamora family in the future, with power and influence. Countless people will envy you..."

"So you tricked me into coming back for this? You were the one who wanted to kick me out before, and now that there's trouble, you want me to be the scapegoat?" Aurora sneered and felt desolate.

She thought, ‘Is this all I worth in Elmer's eyes?’

"Dad, how about we forget about it… I'll marry into the Lamora’s family." Seeing Aurora's firm attitude and Elmer's guilty and uneasy expression, Ella's heart clenched, and she quickly burst into tears.

"Dad, Mom, please don't force Aurora anymore. Everyone knows that ever since the accident, Locke Lamora has become extremely cruel and inhumane. He's now a disfigured and ugly person. How can I bear to let Aurora marry him?" As Ella spoke, tears streamed down her face, making her look pitiful.

"How can you do that? You're the apple of my eye! Besides, you're already with Elliot Lyons. We can't afford to offend the Lamora family, but we also can’t offend the Lyons family. Your sister is also the daughter of the Blaze family. Marrying any daughter off is the same, isn't it?" Jane couldn't bear to see her daughter suffer like this. While comforting her daughter, she also pressured Elmer. "Honey, you must not push Ella into this fire pit!"

"So, you're choosing to push me into that fire pit?" Aurora sneered, not hiding her disdain for them.

Jane was instantly furious at her words, about to slap Aurora again, but Aurora grabbed her wrist.

Aurora stared coldly at her and did not say a word.

Jane felt that her gaze was too piercing and didn't dare to act recklessly again.

"That's enough!" At this moment, Elmer suddenly shouted.

He couldn't stand Aurora's rebellious attitude. He thought, ‘They are both my daughters, but why is the younger one so obedient while the elder one is so disobedient?’

He spoke coldly, "Aurora, if you don't agree, I'll destroy all of your mother's belongings!"

Hearing this, Aurora's face turned pale, and her expression changed suddenly.

Before her mother died, Aurora made a very important promise to her which was to take good care of her belongings, no matter what happened.

At that time, she was too young to resist Elmer, and her mother’s things were taken away by him. But now, she would never allow such a thing to happen again.

Aurora said, "Fine, I'll marry Locke! But you must return all of Mom's belongings to me!"

Seeing that their plan had succeeded, Jane and Ella exchanged glances, both wearing smug expressions.

"In three days, the Lamora family will come to pick you up. You better behave yourself, otherwise, you won't see your mother's belongings again." Jane knew she had grasped Aurora's weakness and was no longer afraid of her. "Guards, lock Miss Aurora away!"

Before Aurora could react, she was forcefully dragged away by several bodyguards and locked in a room.

Listening to the laughter and joy of the three outside the door, Aurora couldn't help but shed tears, struggling to calm her emotions for a long time.

There was nothing here for her to cherish. Since she was destined to leave this home, she decided that she might as well make the most of the situation.

The Lamora family was wealthy and influential, and Locke was incapable of sex. This was actually good news for her.

As long as she could retrieve her mother's belongings, she would do anything.

Aurora thought, ‘So what if I have to marry into the Lamora family? I will make them regret making this decision!'

Chapter 2 A Solo Wedding | The Mysterious Bad Boy

Three days later, ten black Rolls-Royces slowly arrived at the Blaze family, instantly filling the sizable courtyard.

"Aurora, are you ready or not?" Ella barged into the room, only to see Aurora dressed in a meticulously pure white wedding gown designed by a master, specially prepared by the Lamora family. The magnificent gown was adorned with dazzling diamonds, enhancing her beauty like a fallen angel, radiating an indescribable charm.

Her tall and slender figure was exquisite, her gorgeous and delicate skin exposed to the air, her long hair pinned up, revealing a graceful neck, reminiscent of a proud swan.

A flash of envy and resentment appeared on Ella's face, but in an instant, she put on a fake smile.

Ella thought, ‘No matter how beautiful Aurora is, she is still going to marry that disfigured waste!’

She said, "Aurora, I really have to thank you for marrying that waste for me. Elliot doesn't have to worry about losing me anymore. Both he and I sincerely wish you happiness."

Looking at Ella's hypocritical face, Aurora felt disgusted.

She said, "Remember what you promised. As soon as I marry, you will return my mother's belongings to me!"

"Enough with the chatter!" Jane first glared at her daughter, signaling her not to cause trouble, then forcefully pushed Aurora out the door.

Jane and Ella were ecstatic at the thought of Aurora having to face such an ugly and useless man in the future.

Jane said, "Don't dawdle. The wedding car is waiting. If you want to get your belongings back, you better behave yourself. No one will help you if you offend the Lamora family!"

Aurora glanced at the gate one last time and saw Elmer rushing out. She felt a moment of joy, thinking that Elmer had changed his mind.

However, Elmer earnestly advised, "Aurora, you must be obedient to Mr. Lamora after you marry him, and never provoke him. You are a daughter of the Blaze family, sharing both honor and disgrace. Remember that!"

Hearing this, Aurora couldn't help but curl her lips in a self-deprecating smile.

She thought, ‘Is this something a father should say to his daughter in this situation?’

She felt disappointed, turned around without hesitation, and got into the wedding car.

Aurora decided that this place was no longer her home.

The church where the wedding was held had long been booked out by the Lamora family, but the guests were sparse. Those present either scrutinized or curiously observed Aurora as she got out of the wedding car, their faces filled with mockery and disdain.

In their eyes, Aurora was just a foolish girl who was after the wealth of the Lamora family. The group of people whispered and gossiped, pointing fingers at her, as if watching a joke.

Aurora suppressed the urge to flee and started looking around, but she couldn't see any trace of the groom.

The butler of the Lamora family, Tad Miller, who was responsible for escorting Aurora to the church, seemed to sense her confusion and explained expressionlessly, "Mr. Lamora doesn't want to show up in front of outsiders. Miss Aurora, please proceed with the wedding on your own."

Aurora thought, ‘Is Locke deliberately embarrassing me by doing this?’

She wanted nothing more than to escape from here, but unfortunately, she had no choice.

Thinking of her family, her heart couldn't help but ache.

She had nowhere else to go.

Taking a deep breath, Aurora raised her head proudly, put on a smile, and straightened her dress as she walked onto the red carpet.

She thought, ‘Even if I become a laughingstock, I don’t want anyone to see me defeated!’

At the end of the red carpet, there was no sign of her groom, but she decided to finish this solo performance with perfection.

Meanwhile, in a private room of a top-class club, the man who should have appeared at the wedding was holding a wine glass and toasting with his friends.

"Locke, I heard your new bride is exceptionally gorgeous, a rare beauty! Instead of getting married, why are you here drinking with me?" The speaker was a handsome young man with a hint of frivolity on his face. He teasingly looked at the man beside him and was curious about his reaction.

"What? Are you interested in her?" A cold voice sounded.

Locke casually glanced at his friend, placed the wine glass on the table, cut and lit a cigar, his posture lazy yet dignified.

The lighting in the room accentuated his handsome and sharp features, making them appear even more profound and three-dimensional. He appeared flawless, but also distant and cold, devoid of warmth.

"How could I dare!" Jeremy Fox quickly waved his hand. He was obviously joking since he knew if he really harbored such thoughts, Locke would have killed him.

Those who knew Locke understood that he was inherently domineering, and that he would rather have his belongings destroyed instead of have others lay their fingers on them.
