Synopsis

He took her semi-wet hair and tucked it behind her so he could rub her soft neck. She felt his warm hand on her neck and she closed her eyes, leaning against him in satisfaction. She could feel the hard length of him which means he had been thinking of touching her for a long time. She smiled at the thought. His hand slid down her breast which was covered in a tiny fabric of a blue bathrobe. The two mounds on her chest responded with an electric reaction, which made them stand on guard. Zeidan does know how to dig out her feelings and play with them. She moaned and smiled which stirred a reaction from Zeidan. In a swoon, he carried her in his arms and placed her gently on the bed, not forgetting to strip himself of the black shirt he had on. *** Lyne Rook is a very stubborn but soft-hearted 21-year-old female omega who does not yield to anyone. Chapter 1 | The Omega's Fate

"Where the hell is she?"

Lyne resisted the urge to curse as she heard her step-sister's voice in the corridor.

She packed her bags with force, lips pouted as she detested the family trip to the South Jungle. The jungle is a heritage passed down to their father as the royal family and that is where they spend their vacation.

Living with eight siblings who all are her steps had been a living hell for her as she has had to live with discrimination and bullying for years. And for what? Simply because she didn't have a wolf. Turning 21 next year without a mate, she cared less but it only made her a laughing stock the more.

She had been told stories about her mother and father several times by Akeila, an old seer in the pack. She knew her mother was very beautiful with golden hair like hers. Slender body and red lips. She was told her mother was a great warrior even though she wasn't a wolf. That was one reason why Styx, her father had chosen to keep her as one of his wives. When her mother, Gillian was pregnant, Akeila said she foresaw that her baby was going to be a savior to the whole pack and was going to be very powerful.

The packs and other royal household members were awaiting a baby with a huge powerful wolf inside of her until they were told she was pure human just like her mother. She became a disappointment to everyone aside from her mother who didn't have the opportunity to see her grow as she died on the battlefield when she was barely a month old.

With tears in her eyes, she replayed the words of her sisters in her head.

'You mean nothing to us. You mean nothing to everyone.'

Korba, her most hated stepsister who was preparing for her marriage soon with Azrael, stepped into her room.

Azrael, the chief warrior who is also a leader of the wolf army has been Lyne's biggest crush since she was eight. When she was a kid, she would often run towards the field to watch him train others without his shirt on. She had always fantasized about herself in his arms and she knew if Azrael had lured her to his bed, she wouldn't think twice before giving in.

All her dreams shattered when she overheard her father talking with him.

"I'd love to arrange the wedding between your daughter and I soon. I would want to marry her after this month." She heard his deep voice as she was on her way to the King's chamber to report her sisters to him.

Her heart skipped a beat as she wondered who it could be. Who was Azrael's mate amongst the King's daughters? Could it be her? But her face fell when she heard him say next.

"Korba has grown into a beautiful young woman. It won't be nice to keep her waiting after all these years."

She should have known. Who would want to mate with a mixed breed? Her mother was human and her father a wolverine, and she didn't have a wolf. Slowly, her dreams crashed and she forgot about trying to fit in the boxes of her family.

"Looks like someone's mood has been ruined." A wry voice sounded behind Lyne, and she was snapped back to reality.

Korba Rook, twenty-one years old with thick black hair that sat on her head like wool. Her skin was as pale as a ghost and her lips always cracked. Her eyes sunk into their sockets, her cheekbones protruded and her tall lanky body made her look like she could break anytime.

Her full profile could make anyone think she's always sick.

So, this was the woman Azrael, the most powerful and handsome man she knew had chosen to marry. Although Lyne was also slim, she had a good shape that could pass for a model. Her long golden-colored hair brought out her soft pink-colored skin. The color matched her red tiny lips, long lashes, and blue eyes that looked like the ocean. She wondered if Azrael was suffering from any eye problem.

"No one's mood is ruined," Lyne replied to her sister as she kept packing her bags. "I'm just doing what I'm meant to do. Follow everybody's rules since I don't matter to anyone."

"What a fool," Korba spat, her face crumpled in disdain. "How do you expect to matter to anyone if you are not one of us? Why, you don't even have talent."

"Of course, I do. What would you say about my dreams that come true?" She inquired mildly.

"Oh my God! Baby, that's a coincidence," her sister placed a hand on her shoulder.

"And it's nonsense—"

"Nonsense? How?" Lyne dropped the cloth she was holding before turning to her sister. "I can't believe you're saying this. My dream saved our father, remember?"

"You mean, almost killed him? You lured the were cats with your nonsense!" They were both standing, faces inches apart. The hatred between them grew as usual.

Lyne raised a brow, "I wasn't the one wearing a scent strong enough to bring them to our pride. You were supposed to protect father as a wolf that you claim to be, why weren't you there?"

There was silence for a while as Korba looked away defeated.

"This isn't over yet, freak!" With that, she turned and left the room.

Zeidan Bran stood in front of the long window in his office, overlooking the city. With a glass of scotch in hand, he dipped his left hand into his pocket.

He was a good six inches tall, had dark brows, and his hair was a rich dark brown, matching the color of his eyes, brown. His broad stature gave him a handsome profile. He was every girl's dream man but he knew that he could only marry one of his kind. Someone bold enough to carry on with him. A woman with enough wisdom to run his Kingdom in the underworld. And he knew that person was no other than Luana, the beautiful but ruthless fighter.

Zeidan was very well aware of the rumors about her in the Vampire city about how tough and wicked she was. She was even nicknamed the ' terror Queen'. He had sent her a message for them to talk over dinner at a fancy restaurant.

The elevator bell chimed and he believed Luana had arrived. However, he was wrong for as he turned, he barely escaped a knife that swiped past his nose. Thank God for vampire speed.

"Who do we have here? The werecats?" He called out with scorn as the three men in grey and black long coats stepped into his office. They were all wearing hats.

Despite their uniformed dresses, Zeidan could still make out who they were.

"Gorge, Tate, Reyns. To whom do I owe this visit?"

"You do know why we are here, Zeidan," Tate called, his hoarse voice barely audible.

"If you're talking about the Onyx, till you die and reincarnate in a million years, you will never have your hands on it. Not while it's still in my possession." He made to walk past them when the trio drew out their weapons and started fighting him.

His speed was making it hard for others to tame him. While Tate and Reyns kept fighting him, Gorge was looking for the Onyx.

Looking around the big office, he was wondering where to start searching when he noticed a tiny light shining out of a room.

With a smile on his face, he stepped toward the room.

"Come here treasure," he chuckled and made to enter but was met with a kick on the face making him fall flat.

Looking up, his face turned into one who was in despair. Long brown and curly hair, black eyes, seductive lips, and body. Swaying her hips towards Gorge, the others saw her from afar and vanished.

"Well, I do always fancy a fight before enjoyment." Her thick long eyelashes batted her cheeks as she looked up at Zeidan who looked rough already, but still good-looking.

"These were cats are known to be quite rogues, if I remember correctly, my father has waged war against them times without number for overstepping their boundaries." A speculative smile played on her beautiful lips.

"It's a shame that you Cats won't learn at all from your past experiences."

Gorge cleared his throat before rising to his feet. "The Onyx is our heritage; we won't rest until we have it."

With that, he vanished into thin air as well. Leaving her alone with Zeidan.

"Pests they are!" She sighed before sitting on one of the executive chairs. Dressed in black pants and a flower-printed top that did little to conceal her breasts.

"Who are you?" Zeidan asked as he moved towards her.

"I'm Luana," she crossed her legs.

Chapter 2 | The Omega's Fate

"How did you get in?" he inquired; brows furrowed. He looked at the elevator and back.

"You didn't walk in through that, did you?"

Luana's laughter filled the room before standing up to the long window, where the Werecats knife had been through. She ran her fingers across the damage before replying.

"I guess you weren't told that I'm not some random girl. I'm nothing like the ones you relate to within your world," her lips twitched as she said the last two words.

"Why did you choose here anyway?" She walked back to where Zeidan was seated.

"It's my way of relaxing. Living here is okay to me because, for a few moments, I forget I'm a vampire King."

"Trying to neglect duties, isn't it?" He felt her breath behind him. Her hands were running over his chest. He checked the wall clock and realized it was 10:00 p.m. already.

He stood up and held Luana between his arms, allowing his lips to crush hers.

"You do know why I called you here, don't you?" Zeidan asked.

"To be your Queen." Luana smiled as she kissed him again. Their mouths caressed each other with intended ease that belied Zeidan's arousal and the hard length of him pressed against her.

His hands trailed over her breasts, her arched back and hips leisurely as if expecting a signal inside of him. What more could he ask for? He was aroused already.

But inside, he felt like this wasn't right. This wasn’t how he was supposed to feel. He broke their kiss, frowning.

"What is it?" Luana asked, eyes widened.

He stared at her for a while before pulling her in for another kiss. Luana took this time to explore him as well as she ran her palms over the hardness of his shoulders and chest. She expected him to shiver at her every touch but at every peak, they were almost getting to, the fire would stop burning.

As the moment passed, every caress, every touch did little to stir up the fire he had clogged inside of him. He tried hard to get her related to him. His body warmed up, his head pounded, he felt his gums ached and he wondered if this was it. Until it stopped.

He disentangled himself from her embrace, trying hard to comport himself.

"Let's just go to the restaurant. We can get to know more about ourselves there." He turned and picked up his suit jacket before moving towards the elevator, Luana tailing behind.

Getting into the black BMW car with the woman beside him, he wondered if this was going to work.

He started the engine after a glance at Luana whose face displayed plenty of unasked questions. He wished he could answer them all but then he was confused himself.

They drove past the hustling and bustling environment of the city.

Luana raked her hands through her hair before breaking the silence that had ensued between them since they left the office.

"Is there a reason we can't eat dinner at your place?"

Zeidan turned the car to the right as they moved into what looked like a small town with mountains surrounding it. Tall trees silhouetted against the golden moon and the noises from the busy road dying behind them.

"Because I wish to eat at a place that's not in my world," he replied, emphasizing his last words to refer back to Luana's statement earlier.

They drove past tall ancient buildings and soon it looked like they were going into a dark forest. And they drove for a long time, in silence.

They got to a clear path after a long drive, and from afar, they could see a fountain. A big building ornate with golden flowers, trimmed flowers surrounding the place and dimmed lanterns lighting up everywhere.

"Where is this place?" Luana inquired as the car stopped and they both got down.

"This is my palace." Zeidan walked majestically to his palace. Moving closer, some figures looked like shadows standing around everywhere and until they moved closer, Luana wouldn't have thought they were his workers.

"Welcome, Your Highness." A figure that looked more important than the others greeted them before leading them in.

"We've got more problems than you can ever think of," the tall lanky man whispered before glancing toward Luana.

"Your guest is the 'terror Queen'?"

"I think we should talk about the problems, Wikh." He patted the man's back before leading him to a room.

"The Onyx...the Were Cats have found out where it is!"

This message sent shivers down his spine.

"But how?" He wondered.

"We don't know ourselves, but we suspect that we have a traitor amongst us," Wikh suggested, his expression thoughtful.

Luana walked in on the men as she had been listening to their conversation from where she stood. She felt it right to intervene.

"I could help."

"Seriously, not you," Wikh began to say but was paused by Zeidan who placed a hand on his shoulder.

"I'd suggest we increase your army because the way I see it, the Werecats might outnumber us and defeat us—"

"Hold up, good gracious, your Highness, why is she using the word 'us'?" Wikh was beginning to be impatient with the woman's sophisticated character.

"Because very soon, I'm going to be your Queen and I'm going to make sure everything goes right," Luana spat before continuing.

"Zeidan, it's best you receive help from the ones who have the best Soldiers. They will help us defeat these Werecats, I'm sure."

"Like your father?" Zeidan asked, brows drawn together.

"No. Like the Wolf packs."

Tension grew in the room suddenly and Luana quickly regretted her suggestion.

Zeidan could remember what history had to say about their relationship. Years of hatred waxed strong between the two groups. The Vampires and the wolverines never see eye to eye and this had been going on for ages.

Before his father's demise, he could remember being told what calamity the werewolves had brought to the vampire city and why they now had extra security. On that fateful evening, his Father had gone out to hunt for blood when he met with a pack of Wolves on his territory.

"This place is out of bounds for you Wolves. We have nothing in common so I don't see why we can ever have a smooth relationship." Hail, Zeidan's father called out to the big wolf that stood in front.

"You will not tell us what to do, Hail." Azrael snorted; fangs gritted. "You all waste your prey by sucking their blood and leaving them while we see the need to clear up the mess and finish them once and for all."

But the vampires won't succumb to their threats. So, under the full moon, the vampires and werewolves fought till there was no space left on the ground to fit a foot without being smeared by blood.

His father died the following morning from the wound.

Zeidan's eyes were lined with tears already and he swallowed trying hard to comport himself. He looked at Luana whose wide eyes stared back at him in regret.

"Don't feel bad, Luana, you have said Well." Zeidan's eyes bore into her as if she were some screen that could be read.

"Your suggestion sounds good." He nodded to the man beside him.

"I also wonder if the Alpha will release his armies to you without asking for something in return. We both know how selfish he can be." Luana flung her hair backward as she said thoughtfully.

"Something like what?" It was Wikh who asked this time.

"Something so special. Something the wolves have been fighting to possess for a long time." Her red lips slightly parted as those words dropped like bombs, shattering Zeidan's heart as he mumbled.

"The Onyx."

"But I'll say that you propose something else to him. I hear he has a daughter who is not too important to them. She's as good as dead in their eyes. You can ask to marry her just to join forces with his men. She'll be our pawn." She sounded so confident.

"You're right. Don't worry, I know what to do." He has had enough brainstorming for the night.

"Wikh, take Luana to the Royal Chamber at the end of this corridor and make sure she is being taken care of properly. By the full moon, I'll do well to introduce her to the whole Vampirinos. As for the Wolf pack, arrange a meeting with them by the South Jungle. I hear that's where they'll be by this season."

"Of course, Your Highness. Of course." Wikh smiled wryly before leading Luana to the Chamber. "This way."

He knew he had no choice but to go by what Luana had just said. If he wants to keep the Onyx safe, he had to drop his ego and ask for a little help. It wouldn't hurt, he thought. The only problem is that the Alpha is a ruthless leader. He had to find a way to convince him.

The jar shattered against the rocky wall that held the cave right where the Cat leader lives.

"Holy crap. That woman has crossed me for the last time."

Cat Shelbrooke furiously ran his fingers through his spooky hair as he glared at the three cats before him.

One was full of orange furs and looked fat like an overfed pet. Another had black fur with a few white colors sprinkled on some parts. The last one that stood before their King looked like an underfed cat with its bony cheeks where whiskers grew and green eyes that looked like they could get lost in its socket. It had a grey fur color that did little to cover its ribs.

Shelbrooke looked away from the cats he so much trusted. His own most reliable cats were beaten like mere commoners by a woman. Luana.

He was going to make sure she paid for it. He rose from his throne, now transformed, pacing back and forth in the cave, his pitch-black fur concealed his limbs as they dropped on his body like black waterfalls. His stony eyes looked like they could kill one at a spot with just a stare. Those eyes gave a full light under the moon.

How could his army be such cowards? He was pretty sure they wouldn't have run if it was someone else aside from Luana. At least, someone less terrific. If there was someone, he'd been wanting to come across again, it would be Luana. Her father was the reason why they lost a lot of soldiers.

He grunted in disdain, strode back to his throne, and sat down.

"I need more information about where the Onyx is. After the full moon, we will be declaring war!" He commanded, his roaring voice tore through the cave and across.

The three cats whimpered as they retreated, their limbs shivering.

"Gorge!" He called and the cat with orange furs walked towards him, fear evident in his eyes.

"You will watch every step of that Vampire King and make sure none of our plans fails. This time, I need more hard work!" After his last word, he pounced on Gorge, his forelimb pressed against his face.

"You hear me?!" Gorge whimpered while the others nodded and whispered a yes.
