Chapter One | The Rejected Omega: Reclaiming My Lost Possessions

Tracy's POV.

My legs had suddenly knocked together and were gradually becoming weak, tired and unable to move an inch anymore. I stopped, gasping for breath as my whole body ached, battling with sweat from my head down to my feet as though I had been immersed in a pool. My breath panting faster and my extremities growing pale as if I had run aimlessly for a couple of decades.

“Ruuuun! Run Traaacy!!” The desperate shout from mum alerted my consciousness. And as if that wasn't enough, came a loud cry of wailing. Wait a minute, that was Jesse, my brother's voice in desperate wails, my heart dropped in panic as I immediately turned in a bid to help Jess.

“Don't! Ruunnnn Tracy!! Run and never look bacccckkkk!!!” Came desperate shouts from mum again, but this time around, it ceased abruptly with bloody splashes all over the pathway causing my heart to skip as I slipped off my feet.

Oh, gosh, I was suddenly awakened by a slap from Nancy, the head Omega, which alerted me back to the physical world with my clothes soaked with cold sweat.

How I hated to see one of these devils first when up from sleep. It was just a beautiful way to remind me of what a mystery I'd become in the face of the entire pack.

I held my cheeks trying to gain a balance while standing.

“What?” She jabbed, “Are you gonna hit me back?” Another slap landed on my right cheek. “You're such a weakling, lazy and useless. What are you still doing in bed by this time when every sensible wolf is out there being useful with their lives?"

I stooped down, trying to locate my old wrist watch which was presented as a gift by my mum on my thirteenth birthday. So bad it was that I wasn't entitled to the least thing as a wall clock. I was stuck in an old dilapidated, cluttered, and dimly lit room as an omega.

My eyes grew deeper in despair as I hurried with my toothbrush and toothpaste into the bathroom to clean up before heading for my morning chores. I knew it was gonna be a terrible day as I'd already defaulted in my time of resumption.

After brushing my teeth, I wore my pair of work clothes, accomplished with a cardigan to shield my skin from the abusive words or items that may be thrown at me. What would I say, I was used to it and wouldn't experience anything less, at least for defaulting with time.

Laura, who was the gamma's daughter, was busy planting her favorite roses in the castle's garden. Maybe, that gave her the enfrontry for calling me lazy, just because she was planting a rose flower.

My arrival caused a quest or laughter in the so-called high-ranked girls. Though some murmured while I passed through to take up my task, I was never worried as far as I finished up and went to rest.

I was assigned to work in the field also, assisting Laura plant the flowers and take over her chores.

A sudden escape of words left my mouth bewildered which caused me to yelp as she purposely stepped on my feet. Suddenly, Laura and her friends left the garden and stood afar off. Why's everyone leaving the work for me alone? I protested.

“Hey shut up, you cheap weakling,” Laura vexed. I wasn't new to bullying, I'd always endured their bullying quest, what could I do? Nothing, as revolting may cause my expulsion from the pack. And if that happens, where would I run to? Nowhere. So you see? My reasons for tolerating their bullying even after working so hard to make everyone happy.

I returned home tired and dirty as Laura and her friends occasionally splashed mud on my dress. Gosh, I was famished and looked forward to a decent meal, a hug and with words of encouragement, but I could only get such in my dream or probably, when I meet my mate, and that was gonna take a while to happen.

At least I'll be served some meal and I'll need to manage for the time being, I mused.

“Hey, bitch, you deserve to die as you're a bunch of bad luck to our park," they giggled, causing each other to laugh. “She shouldn't even eat this meal,” Nancy mused as she threw the rice on the ground, causing it to be covered with dirt.

Well, I was famished as my stomach had started playing its drums desperately and had no other option than to gather the rice from the ground while Laura and her friends laughed mockingly.

With tears, as the maltreatment was becoming unbearable, I stared at my family' photo album. This time around, tears were gushing out uncontrollably as I strolled down memory lane. I was originally the daughter of the beta, father was Alpha's best friend and adviser and we lived as one big happy family lacking nothing, not until on a beautiful morning when we were on a visit to mum's Pack and got attacked by rogues who ravished mum and my brother just before my eyes, spilling their blood into a well. I was the last to be executed though already badly injured when dad showed up and rescued me. Dad, in a bid to connect with mum and brother, subjected himself to overdosage of hallucinogens and was hence unproductive.

Within that period, our Pack lost a great deal of its members as a result of dad's absence during the war. He died, feeling happy as he was going to reunite with his wife without even a slit of consideration for me, his daughter, thus, subjecting me to mockery as I was despised, being seen as the cause of my family's death and since then, the hell of the community's anger fell on me.

As a means of punishment, I was relegated to the position of an omega (the lowest rank in the pack.

This was too much for me to bear as I shifted into my wolf, running towards the woods and drifting with the thought of a better tomorrow. Never knew when I interrupted a pair of mates who were on a date, I admired how they held their hands reciting lovely words and playing together with their bodies. I couldn't wait, but look forward to my 18th birthday which was just a day after, where I'll be able to sense my mate and find true love once again out of this hellish predicament I never envisioned.

Chapter Two | The Rejected Omega: Reclaiming My Lost Possessions

Tracy's POV.

It's a new day. Actually, I feel a lot better as I wasn't waking up with teary dreams or a slap by one of those conspicuous she-wolves who claim to know it all. It was my eighteenth birthday, but no one knew nor cared about anything that had to do with me. My only companion had been my wolf since I was sixteen and I was grateful she came earlier.

Today, being my eighteenth birthday, my imagination was hopeful that I'd finally find my mate and after which, happy ever after.

Hence, I hurriedly jumped on my work clothes and hopped out for the day's duty hoping luck would smile on me. You know my predicament, I can't help but quietly endure all the mess in my head, hoping for better days ahead, at least, it's better than being banished from the pack.

“Hey loser,” that was Laura again, this time around, she splashed the whole mopped area with wet mud, and you know what that means, causing the whole place to look dirty and unkempt. “Laura, why would you do that to an area I'm done cleaning already?”

She hissed, “What can a lazy ass like you do? You should be grateful that I haven't heaped this place with feces, that's what you deserve, packing feces every day of your life, you bitch.” She sighed and walked away.

This wasn't a new development, as she was now the Gamma's daughter, and was betrothed to the heir Alpha. Hence, any surge or exchange of words could land me in trouble, thus I needed to tidy up the Park house again thereby avoiding even the slightest unit of issues between us. Even though I wasn't living my best life in the Pack, the mere reason that I had a roof over my head, even though with little or no meals, I could say it was better than being regarded as a rogue in the werewolf kingdom.

“What have you been doing Tracy?" the lead Omega yelled as she walked in. “Need I remind you that you're no longer the beta's daughter, but an omega, and as such needs to work faster and harder? We can't spend such a great deal of time on just a portion.” She scolded, panting around helplessly with concentrated attention on her watch.

I on the other hand had hurriedly tried to clean up the mess caused by Laura, I wouldn't know why the hate, but like I said, I was trying my best to refute trouble when Nancy the lead Omega immediately interrupted. “As a means of punishment, you'll extend your duties to the heir Alpha’s quarters, making sure everything is clean and tidy, without any meal for the day.

“What,” I suddenly shouted. "You can't do that, Nancy I did my job very well, but Laura got the whole place dirty."

I knew I had infuriated her by calling her by her name, hence, a reforming slap landed on my cheek, causing a scene between us. By now, the other Omegas were gathered, watching every bit of activity. “Listen up," she announced. "You can retire for the day, Tracy will take over all your chores.”

She turned to me and sighed. "Like I said earlier, you'll take over the Alpha's quarters and every other chore, no meal for today, you piece of trash. Little wonder why an Omega will regard her fellow Omega as trash as if she were better." But I had no option but to adhere with tears flowing uncontrollably down my eyes while I drifted towards the the Alpha's quarters.

Suddenly, a strange smell wafted toward me. The smell of Cider mixed with peppermint, which caused my wolf to jump excitedly, it tilted helplessly, waiting to see the face of her prince charming. My heart beat faster than was imagined and the excitement became overly unbearable. Though I was a bit scared, I wouldn't know my fate. Would I be accepted or rejected? Such a thought was scary, considering the predicament I was faced with.

Just when I least expected, the heir Alpha, Alpha Glenn walked down the passageway with Flynn, his beta and best friend by his side. His tousled brown hair comfortably sat just above his shoulders. His hazel eyes were breathtaking and they stared beautifully in my direction with his black pants and White shirt which he stocked neatly with a tie. His well-ironed suit was dangling in his hands when he turned immediately, handing over the Italian wear to Flynn who fixed it swiftly through his hands.

Both were well dressed and were headed just for a function when my wolf suddenly yelled out excitedly; ‘mate’ even when I had tried to restrain myself from sounding such out, especially on his appearance with Flynn, his beta. The contempt on his face was dreadful, and so was Laura, who just rushed in, in order to meet up with him for the function they were headed for. She rushed to speak but was restricted by the heir Alpha instantly.

He looked at me coldly, and then bursted into a guffaw. Thereafter, he smirked and then uttered bluntly, “Let it be known to you and to your generations unborn, that I can never and will never be mated to a lowly Omega, a Pack destroyer and a bad luck as a Luna. “Stop it,” I screamed, interjecting immediately. "You're hurting me with your words.”

"You're cursed and don't deserve to stay in this Pack, but you're so lucky that my father, Alpha Drakes is considerate. I should have thrown you out before now if I were him.” Flynn who stood speechless, had tried to signal me to calm down and not say a word in order not to aggravate the situation more.

He reconnected his hand with Laura and walked away without looking in my direction anymore. The sobs were now unbearable as they drained freely. On the day I was supposed to regain my happiness, the opposite happened. Now, I knew that I was meant to be lonely for the rest of my life, maybe I was actually bad luck and deserved to die with my family. “Don't say that.” Kaira, my wolf interjected immediately. "You're never bad luck and will never be. Circumstances happen and you can never predict it, so you need to be strong and fight to light. Okay?"

Kaira was always my comforter, but before we could finish her reassuring words, one of the worst scenarios any wolf could face played out.
