Chapter 1 Divorce | The Seductive Ex-Wife and Abstinent Billionaire

"Are you sure about the divorce?"

Looking at the divorce agreement handed over, Cindy Tache felt a basin of water poured down from her head, and the full happiness she felt vanished. She only felt an utter sense of coldness from the deep of her bones.

"Yes. She is coming back."

Today was the third marriage anniversary of her and Hardy Feltus. For this she specifically went grocery shopping and cooked a big meal today. In the end she got a divorce agreement.

An unexpected "surprise" indeed!

"You are allowed to express your complaint, if there are any."

Hardy condescended to look at the woman in front of him, the gentle and obedient woman. His gesture resembled very much a businessman coldly dealing with a negotiation.

Cindy lowered her head and scanned over the words on the agreement quickly. The compensation provided in the agreement was quietly huge, which included the shop located in the expensive zone, a villa in the city district, and 50 million dollars of cash. All these worth at least 1 billion.

This was enough for her to live a life free of material trouble.

Her three years of marriage with neither love nor sex earned her 1 billion dollars of compensation.

She was supposed to be contented, wasn't her?

But she did not get married to Hardy for money.

Seeing that she was silent for a while, Hardy lighted a cigarette and smoked. He took a deep smoke and squinted, "Feel free to voice any concerns."

Cindy looked up and met his cold eyes. She said lightly, "Hardy, have you ever loved me for even one moment during the past three years?"

"No."

Simple and clear, an answer without any hesitation. This killed one last strain of expectation in her mind. She felt her heart was rolled over by a blunt knife and experienced a suffocating pain.

"I see..."

Her long soft eyelashes quivered slightly and she hid the bitterness in her eyes. In just a short moment, a gentle and light smile returned to her face.

"I made you your favorite dishes. Have the last dinner with me, will you?"

Hardy frowned and did not answer.

Holding back tears, Cindy filled a bowl with rice.

Right then, Hardy got a call.

"Darling, I am in such a pain. Come to hospital and stay with me, will you?"

A soft female voice sounded from the phone. Since Cindy was close to his phone, she heard everything.

Cindy's fingers tightened suddenly.

"Ok. Be good. I am coming now. Do you want to eat anything? I can bring it to you. Well?"

He said it in a tender tone that she had never heard before. Cindy's eyes were filled with disappointment and sadness. Perhaps this was the difference in his manner treating a woman whom he loved or didn't love.

Seeing that he was going to leave, Cindy quickly reached out and grabbed the corner of his clothes. She begged with a sense of inferior, "Hardy, you can go after having the dinner, can't you?"

"Cindy, don't be ridiculous."

He waved her hands away coldly and left, without even looking back.

Holding her hand on her chest near her deeply ached heart, Cindy finally gave up and cried with tears.

Three years ago, Hardy found her and proposed to her. She had been secretly in love with him and thus accepted his proposal without any hesitation.

After getting married, they treated each other with respect. Cindy stayed at home as a housewife and looked after Hardy. Even though Hardy had never slept with her, she felt content and happy.

Half a month ago, Hardy's father passed away. She stayed with Hardy and helped him arrange the funeral. After that he stayed outside more and more frequently. Now tonight he asked for a divorce, since Cheryl Salehi, the lovely woman in his dream, had returned to the country.

She was sitting alone in the living room and tasting her own pain. She had been sitting there for so long that she felt her body becoming stiff. Then she stood up and dumped the cold food into the trash can. She did it in a way as if she also threw her broken heart into the trash can.

After the shower, she lied on the cold bed. The fragrance of agarwood Hardy wore was still remained mixed in the air. She could not fall asleep for a long time.

"Blip--"

The phone ringed.

It broke the quietness of the night.

She thought it was Hardy. But when she opened the phone, she saw several photos sent from a strange number.

In the photos, Hardy was leaning on Cheryl's shoulder and sleeping like a baby, such deep and sweet sleep.

The text message read, "Cindy, it is me whom Hardy loves. Being tangled with him is meaningless for you. Don't embarrass yourself."

Holding the phone, Cindy stared at the photos which spoke the sweet love story about Hardy and another woman. Cindy experienced an excruciating pain from her heart.

She kept sitting there till it turned bright on the second day. Chris Fain, who was Hardy's assistant, came in with a divorce agreement. Seeing that Cindy looked pale and gaunt, Chris was touched and hesitated. Chris finally spoke out.

"Ma'am, Mr. Feltus required you to sign it. Any requirements from your side can be granted."

After staying silent for a long time, Cindy picked the pen handed to her and signed. She did not take the compensation offered to her. Instead, she chose a divorce without any financial compensation.

Chris was surprised, "Ma'am, you want nothing in return?"

"Yes."

Cindy only took with her some clothes and left the house where she had spent her three years of marriage life.

Back then she had arrived at the house with such a delight and expectation. Now she was leaving alone.

After leaving the house, Cindy felt a deep sense of emptiness and homelessness. However, what was done had been done, and she had to move on. She could not let her life be ruined just because of what Hardy had done.

Since Hardy had no feelings for her, she would not keep being associated with him. Such entanglement was not her style either.

Cindy took out her phone and called Jay Laris, "Jay, I am divorced."

Jay soon came to her and stopped the car near her. A cloud of dust was lifted by the car.

"A wise woman does not fall in love. It's wise to get a divorce."

"Shut up. Drive now."

Cindy took the phone and hacked the monitoring system, deleting all information of her tracks in the system.

She finally took a look at the place where she had spent the past three years, then left without hesitation.

On the top floor of Feltus Group.

Seeing that Chris returned, Hardy asked, "Did she sign it?"

"Yes. But she did not take anything."

Chris handed the agreement in front of Hardy.

Didn't take anything?

A grey of surprise flashed cross his handsome face. He was surprised that Cindy had such an iron back bone. Originally he was concerned that it might take a while to divorce Cindy. Hearing what Chris had just said, he somehow felt not himself.

Cindy had spent the last three years at home as a housewife, and she had no job, no social circle and no money. How would she live from now on?

Hardy realized he was worrying about Cindy, then he quickly frowned and hid his concern.

He had divorced Cindy, thus she was irrelevant to him now!

He threw the divorce agreement in the drawer and looked up, "Have you found Winnie yet?"

Chris answered, "She is hard to track and moves secretly and quietly. No track can be found at anywhere she showed up."

"Put a reward in the secret network, announcing anyone who provides whereabout of the legend doctor Winnie will be rewarded 100 million dollars."

Three years ago, Cheryl suffered from a quite strong poison. All senior doctors had been invited to treat her and they ended up with nothing. Cheryl had been living abroad for treating her illness and she was getting worse. It had been said that Winnie was taught by a highly-skilled doctor and earned her own name as a young legend doctor. Winnie possessed magical medical skillset and could bring the dead alive.

The poison Cheryl suffered would be treated if they could find Winnie.

"I am going now."

Meanwhile, Jay brought Cindy to a villa.

"You can live here from now on. Any plans for the future?"

"Not yet."

Jay put the phone in front of her and asked, "Someone offers 100 million dollars for your whereabout. Take it?"

Cindy was in a low spirit, "Not interested."

"Fine. Take a good rest for a while then. But our last mission was from the Sandfort family in California. The Sandfort family has urged us several times recently. Maybe when you are in a better mood, you can visit them?"

"Saturday."

"Wonderful. I will reply them now."

Cindy cleaned up roughly, then she went out and bought some daily groceries. She changed her SIM card and wanted to cut off from her past completely.

Saturday arrived quickly.

Jay accompanied Cindy on her way to the Sandfort family. Cindy went there to treat Senior Mrs. Sandfort.

When Cindy and Jay were leaving the Sandfort family, a black Bentley was passing through them. Cindy looked aside to the window and saw the side profile of Hardy, his deep and handsome side profile.

Why did Hardy turn up here?

Half an hour ago, Hardy got the news that the legend doctor Winnie was going to treat Senior Mrs. Sandfort. He then immediately went to the Sandfort family with Chris. Since Winnie's whereabouts were difficult to track and Winnie acted in a low profile, he had to do it himself and catch up with her personally.

When Hardy arrived at the Sandfort family, he was told Winnie had left. He became serious. Thinking of the car that had just passed by, Hardy turned around and went into his car. He stepped on the accelerator and left to chase the car.

Jay watched from the front mirror and saw the black Bentley was approaching. He then asked, "A car is chasing us. Doesn't the driver happen to be your ex-husband?"

Cindy looked aside. Wasn't it exactly her heartless ex-husband's car?

Cindy's eyes moved around, "Get rid of him."

Jay stepped on the accelerator, then the car was moving fast on the road like an arrow fired out.

Hardy did not give up and kept on chasing the car as if he was a cheetah hunting his prey.

One car was persistently chasing the other car.

After a few rounds, Jay did not manage to beat Hardy down and he could not help but feeling irritated.

"Damn. I'm surprised that your ex has such cool driving skill. Look, he seems so persistent!"

Cindy opened her pretty and bright eyes suddenly, "Move."

She switched place with Jay and drove the car. Her bright eyes looked sharp as she increased the car's speed to the maximum. She drove towards Devil 303 curve path at the fastest speed, the path was the most famous one in California.

The black Bentley also followed them closely.

At the foot of a hill, Cindy suddenly stopped the car. Just when the black Bentley approached, Cindy immediately stepped on the accelerator. She made the car braked at the curve path, stepped down clutch and slowed down the car. Then she drifted the car to a place to increase its speed. After such practices for several times, she managed to well get rid of Hardy's chasing.

Cindy opened the car window and put her thin and white hands out of the window. She gave the middle finger to the car behind.

So arrogant and audacious!

Hardy's eye darkened. The hand, the thin and perfect hand he had just saw was definitely from a woman. However, he seemed to have seen the hand somewhere before.

When Hardy arrived at the end of the path, the car he was chasing had vanished a long time ago.

Chris grabbed the handrail and his heart beat fast. This was the first time he saw Hardy being beaten down by a woman. He had expected Hardy would go furious. But when he turned around and looked at Hardy, he saw Hardy seemed to get amused. The corner of Hardy's mouth was subtly up.

"Interesting!"

"In what way?"

Chris almost felt he was dead in the chasing just now.

"Try everyway you can to check it. Find out who she is, by all means."

This was not for some special reasons, just because she could cure Cheryl.
