It was hot... unbearably hot.
Hailey Brewer felt like she was lost in a desert, her hands clinging to the man's neck, but her rational mind screamed at her to run.
"No... Hmm!"
Her protest was cut short by a sharp pain that took her last bit of sense away...

She didn't know how long it had been, but Hailey forced herself up, her eyes burning with rage. She wanted to kill the man who had stolen her innocence.
Tomorrow, she was supposed to marry Jonathan Waller. She'd asked her best friend, Georgia Wilcox, to book a room for the wedding prep, but instead, she'd been ambushed by a stranger in her room.
She had no idea how he'd gotten there, and by the time she tried to escape, it was too late.
She and Jonathan had been in love for ages, always pure and innocent, but now, on the eve of their wedding, a stranger had taken that from her.
She was too heartbroken to cry.
Overwhelmed by fear, pain, and rage, Hailey kicked the man and sprinted away.
Now, she was lost, not knowing what to do. The shame and guilt were overwhelming, and she screamed at the ocean, letting out her fury.
She called Georgia over and over, but there was no answer.
Taking a deep breath, Hailey got in her car and headed back to the new house, ready to confess to Jonathan. But as soon as she stepped inside, she was struck by lightning.
In the house she was supposed to share with Jonathan for their wedding night, clothes were strewn everywhere, from the living room to the bedroom, from jackets to lingerie.
Upstairs, a woman called out, "Jonathan..."
But the man didn't seem to hear, still murmuring, "Hailey, I love you."
At the sound of this name, the woman under him seethed with hatred.
A loud bang echoed through the air.
Hailey kicked the door open, making the woman on the bed scream, while the man on top stared blankly at Hailey, and then back down at Georgia.
He quickly pulled away, grabbing a blanket and wrapping it around himself, while Georgia was left exposed, nowhere to hide.
Jonathan quickly covered Georgia and then hid behind the curtain, like a child caught in the act.
Hailey's eyes froze over at the sight. She picked up the clothes at her feet and threw them at Jonathan, her voice sharp. "Put on your clothes and get out here."
Georgia felt a hidden excitement at Hailey's rage, but she played the part of someone full of sorrow and regret. "I'm so sorry, Hailey. This is all on me. It has nothing to do with Jonathan."
"Shut up. You make me sick!"
At that moment, it finally dawned on her that last night when that stranger had his way with her, her limbs were limp and she was burning up like she'd been slipping something.
And before that, the only thing she'd had was a cup of coffee from Georgia.
Georgia's eyes welled up with tears as she looked at Jonathan pitifully. "Jonathan, I'm sorry. It's all my fault."
That tearful display made Jonathan's heart ache with guilt.
Sitting in the living room, Hailey felt numb, her fists clenched so tight her nails dug into her palms.
Why was the world so cruel? She'd come to the new house to hide, only to find this unbearable scene.
It was their wedding day tomorrow!
Georgia hid behind Jonathan, panic-stricken, while Jonathan was a picture of shame and regret.
"Hailey, listen. It's not what you think," Jonathan started, not knowing how to explain that he'd been drunk and confused Georgia for Hailey. It would only hurt Georgia even more, and he couldn't do this when Georgia herself was indeed the victim for the accident.
"I'm just sorry," he finished.
"Sorry? You didn't think about being sorry when you were in bed with her?" Hailey's chest tightened as she saw Georgia cowering behind him, her teeth clenched so hard she could taste blood.
Jonathan, the heir to the Waller family and the Waller Group, was always the perfect gentleman. He was talented, handsome, and tender, always doting on her, treating her like a princess, and respecting her every opinion.
Now, he was with Georgia, her best friend!
Hailey's eyes were red with anger and betrayal as she stared at Jonathan, her heart aching.
Georgia stepped forward, shielding Jonathan. "Hailey, I'm the one who let you down, so just come at me, not Jonathan!"
Hailey couldn't help but scoff at the hypocrisy, as if she was the interloper.
Her heart was ice.
"Slap!"
The sharp sound of a slap echoed through the living room.
Georgia fell to the ground, dazed.
Then another slap rang out.
This time, it was Hailey's face that stung, her eyes wide with disbelief as she looked at Jonathan.
He stared at his hand, his face a mask of regret. "Hailey, I'm sorry. I..."
He reached for her, intending to check.
"Stay away from me." Hailey's heart was shattered. Jonathan had never even touched her rough before, but today he'd slapped her for Georgia.
Hailey kept her head high, holding back her tears, her brave facade shattering Jonathan's heart. He witnessed her struggle, and the ache within him deepened.
"Hailey, you can't blame Jonathan. He's the real victim here. If you hadn't cheated, Jonathan wouldn't have been drinking and confused me for you."
As Georgia spoke, she struggled to her feet.
"You're lying. I didn't cheat," Hailey shot back.
"At this point, you still deny it? I have video proof. Do you want to see it?" Georgia challenged, a smug smile playing on her lips.
"Georgia..." Jonathan warned.

Hailey looked into Georgia's self-assured eyes, a sinking feeling in her gut. Could it be...
"Jonathan, even now, you're still defending her?" Georgia snapped, glaring at Jonathan.
Watching them, Hailey realized with a jolt. Last night wasn't an accident. It was Georgia's plan.
Hailey's eyes blazed with fury, her look as cold as ice.
"Bitch!"
The word escaped Hailey's clenched teeth, and she slapped Georgia again without a second thought.
The sharp sound rang out as Georgia staggered from the slap, nearly falling before Jonathan caught her.
Seeing the fierce determination on Hailey's face, he was in disbelief. "Hailey, what are you doing? Have you gone mad?"
Another slap was heard.
Jonathan struck back, slapping Hailey.
Hailey's heart completely froze.
She touched her swelling cheek, fighting back her tears.
Jonathan looked at his hand, a flash of guilt and regret in his eyes. Before he could say anything, Georgia in his arms spoke up.
"Jonathan, don't blame Hailey. It's my fault. I should have fought back last night. Hailey's right to be angry. If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have betrayed Hailey. It's all my fault..."
Georgia, in Jonathan's arms, couldn't hide her delight at seeing Hailey struck. Sensing Jonathan's hesitation, she spoke up quickly.
Georgia hid her face, crying hard as she snuggled into him. She trembled like a scared kitten, making her look so pitiful.
She seemed to take all the blame, but every word stoked the flames.
"No, Georgia. It's not your fault. I lost control," Jonathan said, the guilt and regret from before gone as he silently blamed Hailey.
Georgia's understanding act made Jonathan even more self-reproachful, his hold on her tightening.
"Enough!"
The two of them completely ignored Hailey.
"Georgia Wilcox, with such acting skills, you'd make a great actress..." Hailey's heart was dead, her eyes filled with endless coldness.
"Hailey Brewer, that's enough from you!" Jonathan carefully placed Georgia on the sofa and stood in front of Hailey, his anger barely in check.
"You've done such shameless things and still blame Georgia. The wedding will be held tomorrow. You couldn't wait, could you? You just had to satisfy your loneliness. I had been wondering why you always wanted to wait until the wedding night. Now it just looks like guilt!"
Jonathan's words cut Hailey like a knife, each one digging deep into her bleeding heart.
"Jonathan, is that what you think of me?" Hailey couldn't believe the words were coming from Jonathan's mouth.
Seeing Hailey's hurt expression, Jonathan felt a twinge of reluctance and then turned away coldly. "It's not what I think. It's what you've done. I'll cancel our engagement, but the wedding will go on as planned, just with a different bride, Georgia."
"You're going to marry this tramp?" Hailey gasped.
Jonathan frowned, not hiding his disappointment. "Hailey, Georgia is your best friend. You can't talk about her like that. And she's about to become my wife. Please respect her."
Georgia, lying on the sofa, listened to their conversation with a smirk, her face full of malice. 'Hailey, don't blame me. You're just in my way. Obstacles need to be removed,' thought Georgia.
*****
The Waller family's personal stylist was helping Georgia get ready. With his superb makeup skills, the marks on her face were unnoticeable, and the wound on her head was cleverly hidden by her hairstyle.
Looking at herself in the mirror, Georgia couldn't hold back her joy.
"All done, Ms. Wilcox. Are you satisfied?" the stylist asked.
Georgia's tone was haughty. "Hmm, it's okay. You can leave now, and close the door behind you."
She quickly took out her phone and called her mother, Judith Brewer.
"Mom, I did it. I'm about to marry Jonathan and become a Waller!"
Judith nodded with satisfaction and laughed, "Yes, I promised not only to marry you into the Waller family in style but also to make you the Brewer family's lady."
However, at the thought of Hailey's fierce expression that morning, Georgia felt scared.
"Mom, Hailey almost killed me this morning. If she finds out we schemed against her, she will really kill me!"
Judith was confident and disdainful. "What are you afraid of? Even if she knows, does she have evidence? Would she dare say anything?"
The daughter of the Brewer family, a Mirardville socialite, caught cheating a day before her wedding? Would Hailey dare to air a scandal like that?
"Georgia, don't worry. I naturally have a way of ruining her reputation. Just rest assured."
"Really?" Georgia was thrilled.
Judith had remarried Hailey's father in her early years, hiding her past of having a daughter.
Over the years, she and Georgia had been in secret contact.
Georgia had long coveted the wealth of the Brewer family.
"Mom won't lie to you. Everything Hailey has will soon be yours. Just wait and see. The real show is at the wedding later!"
All the relatives of the Waller and Brewer families and some celebrities of Mirardville were present, and the wedding venue was luxuriously decorated.
The wedding officially began, with Georgia holding flowers and wearing a white wedding dress, walking alone on the long red carpet.
The sudden cancellation of the engagement made Simon Brewer so angry that he had a heart attack and went straight to the hospital, leaving no time to notify friends and relatives, so half of the relatives of the Brewer family were still present.
The relatives whispered, "Where is Simon? Why didn't Hailey walk in with her father?"
"Who knows?"
It wasn't until the bride's veil was lifted that the place exploded.
"Please calm down, everyone. For some personal reasons, my engagement with Hailey has been terminated, and the woman next to me is my wife, Georgia."
As soon as Jonathan spoke, there was an uproar.
"Jonathan, you scum! What has Hailey done to you, that you abandoned her on the day of the wedding? You're too scummy!"
"Yeah, what can't be solved after getting married? Why do you have to do this on the wedding day? Who are you looking down on?"
The conversation got uglier, and Jonathan wasn't about to defend himself. Even if Hailey was at fault, their years together hadn't vanished with the wind.
Georgia couldn't stay quiet. She grabbed the mic from the emcee and defended Jonathan, "All of you have no idea! Jonathan is the biggest victim. If Hailey hadn't cheated, Jonathan wouldn't have done this!"
Georgia's words made the guests present widen their eyes again. This was very exciting.
"Georgia!" Jonathan stopped Georgia and scolded in a low voice.
"What I said is true! I just don't want Jonathan to take the blame." As she spoke, tears welled up in her eyes, making it hard not to feel for her.
As soon as the voice fell, the image on the huge screen behind shifted to a video that was enough to get the blood pumping.
Hailey was in the video with a man, his face out of frame, and the whole thing was shown without any mosaic or sound editing.
The scene was once again in an uproar.
"Georgia, you!" Jonathan frowned tightly and rushed backstage to unplug the power.
"Jonathan, it's really not me..." Georgia lowered her head in grievance, but her eyes couldn't hide the wild joy. 'Is this the real show Mom said?
'It's really exciting!' she thought.
Georgia's hands were shaking with excitement. For so many years, Hailey had always been high up and favored by Jonathan.
She deliberately approached Hailey and became her good friend just for today, to watch Hailey be destroyed.
'Hailey, you're done!' Georgia sneered in her heart.
"We don't believe it! It must be you who synthesized it and wanted to replace Hailey to marry into the Waller family."
Terminating the engagement between the Brewer and Waller family involved the interests of many people, and the people below were arguing rationally, trying to overthrow this video.
"I didn't do it!" Georgia shot back, her voice raised. "I found this video on Hailey's phone by accident. I was furious, so I forwarded it to my phone to show Jonathan."
This news was more explosive than before.
No one expected that Hailey not only messed around with a gigolo but also had such hobbies.
Within thirty minutes, the video was online and skyrocketed to the top of the trending list. Suddenly, Hailey was being called a slut by everyone.
