Venessa's POV
The bell at the door rang indicating a new customer. And as soon as the new customer stepped a foot inside the door, the whole diner fell silent. I looked up and saw the most handsome man I have ever seen in my entire life. He is around 6'3 and had the most alluring grey eyes that almost looked black and midnight-colored hair that is neatly sleek back making him appear more dangerous.
He was wearing a fine black tailored Armani suit which hugged his body too well making his muscles look more eye-catching and two guys wearing the same attire as him, followed close behind.
Everything about this guy screams power and wealth. I would be lying if I say that I don't feel intimidated by him.
As he walked, everyone parted to give him way not wanting to get in his way and as soon as he got seated, I quickly averted my eyes not wanting to get caught staring.
I noticed that every girl in the diner is trying to catch his attention but he looked like he was completely used to the attention he was getting and has the expression that he's ready to kill anyone who crosses his path.
Tina, my coworker came over to my side ''go and take their orders'' she said whispering, making me almost choke on my own spit. I quickly recovered myself and shook my head no.
''Why in the bloody hell not?'' she questioned looking at me in disbelief.
There was no way I would go near them knowing all too well that I would surely do something that will embarrass myself.
''Girls will die to be in your place right now'' she remarked looking at me in disbelief. ''But I'm not like them'' I responded, playfully rolling my eyes at her. ''Just go!'' Tina exclaimed.
A sigh escaped from my lips as I reluctantly headed over to their table to get their orders. My palm started to sweat and shake badly at this time.
My wobbly legs took me to them ''Good evening, I'll be your waitress for tonight. What can I get for you?'' I stated in my professional voice trying real hard not to stammer. I look up to them and see him staring at me so intently. I feel my body starting to shake and my heart pounding out my chest. His stare is so intense that it can make anyone cower away.
''I'll get a cheesy burger, fries and coke'' said the guy with brown eyes, he looks friendly among the three of them. And as I'm about to write the order, the pen slipped from my hand as they were shaking and sweating violently. I was about to get down and to pick it up but the grey-eyed monster already beats me to it.
He hands me the pen slightly brushing his fingertips against mine. I felt electricity washed over my body making me look up to him and to see that he was already staring at me. I felt the heat slowly creeping up to my cheeks.
I quickly looked away, not wanting to let him see that he had an effect on me, so I hastily wrote down their orders and literally ran away from them.
After going to the kitchen, I told Tina to give them their food not wanting to go anywhere with that grey eyed monster. But little did I know that it will not be the last I will see him.

Venessa's POV
As soon as the grey-eyed monster and his friends left, I released a breath I didn't know I was holding. I was able to breathe more peacefully, and as much as I'm happy that he left, there's a small part in me dreading that I didn't even get a chance to know his name. It's true that he's a dangerous man but there's something that attracts me towards him and at the same time scares the living day out of me.
After their departure, it looks like I'm not the only one who's relieved that they're gone, the whole diner went back to normal noisy place as if the burden on their shoulders were lifted off, but Tina however is sad that they went away so quickly, ''I'm enjoying the view'' she said as she was looked at them or should I say stare.
The time flew so fast that I didn't even realize that it was now the time the diner closes.
I went to the changing room to change into my normal clothes as I was wearing a uniform when I saw that Andrew, my co-worker sitting on one of the chairs as if he's waiting for someone.
"Hey!" I greeted him.
He shot his head up to look at me and smiled. "Aren't you going home?" I asked him.
"Um, yeah, I was waiting for you," he mumbled, slightly stammering and anyone looking at him right now can clearly tell that he was nervous. I smiled encouragingly at him. "Ohh okay, do want to say something?" I questioned him.
"No, no " He quickly replied "I just wanna spend some time with you as the diner is always so packed that we don't even get time to talk anymore," he explained making me nod my head yes, agreeing with him.
Changing, me and Andrew exited the diner, continuously conversing with each other as if we hadn't met each other for years.
Andrew is a good friend of mine. I've known him since the first day Mario, the diner's owner, offered me a job. After talking and working with each other, Andrew confessed that he likes me, but I told him that we're just friends and should stay friends which he agreed. I was thankful for it as I didn't want to ruin our friendship or make things awkward between us.
Andrew decided to walk me to my apartment tonight, which I, of course, agreed, wanting some company because I know too well that I will definitely think about that grey-eyed man, and also because I missed talking to my friend, or "maybe just because you're dying to ask about the grey-eyed monster," my inner conscience taunted.
As we walked through the night, I was debating with myself whether I should ask Andrew about him or not.
I gave up finally when I realized I got nothing to lose. "Can I ask you something?" I asked him.
"You already did, flower" he replied, smiling.
I stopped in my tracks and turned to look at him. "Who was that guy ..." I didn't even get to finish my question, but by looking at Andrew's expression, it looked like he already knew who I was talking about.
"You stay away from him and his friends, you get me?" he said with a serious expression on his face that clearly shows he's not messing with me.
"But why?" I questioned him, giving him my full attention.
"You don't wanna mess with those guys, they won't even think twice putting a bullet between your eyes," he responded with his voice full of emotions that I could not seem to point down.
Goosebumps appeared on my arms as I thought about Andrew's words.
"And they get away by doing that? How?" I asked him, desperate to get some answers.
There were a lot of questions swarming inside my head that were dying to be asked, but I could not find any words to put it.
Andrew sighed, "They're really powerful and influential. Their leader De Costello has a strong connection with the police which helps him a lot getting away with their deeds," he said finally giving up, and by the time he finished talking about him, I was left dumbfounded that I didn't even realize we already reached my apartment.
