Chapter 1: You can’t leave me alone | Upgraded By The Touch Of A Tycoon

The late news about an invite to the night picnic flooded an impressionable lady’s imaginings with various plans. All of this involved the alteration of her life. A lack of counsel for a young graduate who had been eyed by a city tycoon of Melon city made the night for a lady named Sandra busy, not understanding how to reach the rich individual in Melon country. Sandra’s night was filled with excitement for the evening-out, as she bathed while singing in the shower. Her iPhone had been stolen by her younger sister, Lear, who is currently in the gaming room, wearing earbuds and playing spider man games. As the tycoon, Mark, continuously contacting Sandra to find out of her whereabouts, Lear was not answering the phone since she couldn’t hear it ring. Sandra couldn’t hear anything either since the shower water transported her to the tranquility of the pond beneath the waterfall. While conducting an interview in his 5-star hotel room while waiting for his invitee, Sandra, the tycoon’s thoughts was filled with worry since he didn’t understand why Sandra wasn’t answering his phone.

“Please give me a second. I’d like to go to where my invitee resides. I’m not sure why she isn’t returning my calls.” The rich individual, Mark, as they sat opposite each other on the sofas, stated to his interviewer, Niska, who is also a journalist and news presenter at Melon TV. The same interviewer is the wife of one of the billionaire’s top bodyguards, Dwayne. He was on the balcony with two other tycoons’ guards at the time of the interview, admiring the beauty of the city at night.

Niska nodded her head after the billionaire asked her to give him a time to call Sandra again to find out what was taking her so long. While the journalist sat on the sofa, he stood up and phoned again. The billionaire called, and Lear heard the phone ring next to her. This is after she had noticed the flashing light from the phone that was next to her and the sound was quite. She felt as if the phone call had taken her attention away from the game she was playing. She even shrugged her shoulders as the phone rang next to her.

“Sandra! Sandra! The phone has started to ring. Come get it for yourself!” shouted Lear, but she didn’t answer the phone since she respected her sister’s privacy. She then continued to play another game, The God of War on her PlayStation while still chilling in her gaming room in her sleeping gown. Sandra heard her sister yell, but her mind was racing with excitement, leaving her unsure of what to dress. When her eighteen-year-old little sister, Lear, called, she was already out of the shower with her white bath towel on, trying to primp herself. She then went into her closet to get the fancy attire to wear when she meets the city billionaire.

“Oh, my goodness, what am I going to do now? What should I wear?” Sandra overheard herself talking to herself as she ran up and down her closet hunting for the right outfit to wear to a five-star hotel supper. The billionaire emerges in her mind as if he anticipates her ideal outcome. She remained in the closet and did not move to answer the billionaire’s phone call as it continued to ring next to her little sister, who appeared annoyed by the way the phone rang incessantly. She took it but did not respond. The tycoon called as if he were contacting his wife, who was at his home at the time. The only thing that drove Mark, the Melon’s billionaire investor to seek love was how he was treated by his wife and how he treated her. Lear considered answering the phone, but she was afraid of starting a dispute with her sister.

“I believe it is best to turn it off.” She yelled angrily again, tossing the game controller into the couch. She hurried to the restroom, curious as to why her sister had taken so long to emerge from the closet. When she entered the bathroom, she was taken aback to see her 23-year-old elder sister still wearing her bath towel and the clothing she’d wear on the closet sofa while someone needed her on the phone. She even put her hands on her waist when she finally got into the closet, as if preparing to reprimand her sister.

“You had to be kidding me. Are you going to wear all of these priceless outfits?” Lear cast a peek at her sister, who was primping herself and was uneasy. Her clothes are nearby. She’d grab one outfit and try it on, then put it down before she’d finished wearing it. The lady appeared to be skeptical in her heart. It was because it was her first date, especially on a night out with the wealthy married man. However, she was unaware of this.

“Please come and select the best outfit for me.” She implored her sister to assist her while holding the second white bridal outfit, which she appeared to admire. Lear only shrugged and shook her head, as if she was unwilling to assist her elder sister in choosing the ideal outfit to wear when she meets the man who had invited her out. Her father, Joel, who also owns Melon City Security, was not there at this event. He was still at work, while his wife, Anne, was attending a meeting of her newly formed non-profit organization in Melon City. As a result, the two sisters were left at home alone. Lear grabbed the doorknob, as if she was leaving her sister alone in the closet.

“I’m going to miss my shot. The game I’m playing is not the same as the one you’re playing.” Shaking her head, Lear said.

Sandra appeared to be perplexed by her younger sister’s actions. Since he recognized he was being ignored, the billionaire had already decided to wait for the call from his invitee, Sandra. He directed Times, his chauffeur, to go and retrieve Sandra from her home, while he returned to the discussion he was holding with Niska, his bodyguard’s wife, and resumed where they had left off with their interview. Sandra appeared to be asking her attitudinal sister for assistance while Times was driving on the tycoon’s Rolls Royce as he was dispatched by the tycoon to come and retrieve Sandra. When Lear opened the closet door as she was about to exit the bathroom, she heard a knock on the front door. They mistook their father for the tycoon’s driver, Times.

“Knock, knock, knock!” exclaims the narrator. Someone knocked on the door, as if cops were going door to door.

Lear hurried to the front door to find out, leaving her sister yelling, “You’d rather attend to the intruders than assist me! You’re such a heartless bumblebee!” Sandra called to her sister, who had long since left, to open the door. Sandra was left admiring her ensembles as her sister went to see who was at the door knocking.

“Give me this red outfit. I guess my wealthy man will wear all white.” Sandra spoke quietly to herself. She then changed into the red scantily clad attire. Her face was filled with a smile. The phone had been left on top of the closet table by Lear. While the interview was still going on, the Tycoon called again. As a result, Sandra was able to answer the phone while finishing up her clothing.

Sandra said, “I am on my way, sir.” when the rich personage who has a crush on her called. Hearing her response, the tycoon was taken aback. He even got up and walked around his hotel room, surrounded by his strong body guards. The billionaire and his crush, Sandra, continued the conversation they were having.

“I have sent my driver to come and pick you up.” Mark responded, a billionaire who has invested in thousands of technological companies. His response caused the lady to lose control. She couldn’t concentrate because her mind was racing with ideas on what she would do when she meets the tycoon. She even hung up the phone without saying anything and continued to wear her clothing and high heels. Sandra put the phone on her ears and continued to put on her high heels when the tycoon called again.

“Oh, my gosh.” She sobbed as she crashed against the wall while on the phone, attempting to put on her high heels.

“Are you alright?” Mark enquired, suspicious of Sandra’s behavior.

“Yes, I am fine, thank you. I just hit the bridge of my nose against the wall while trying to put on my shoes.” She replied with a trembling voice. Mark noticed she was preoccupied with a woman’s work.

“I’ll let you finish your bath activity.” Before Sandra could respond, he said goodbye and hung up. She stood up and lowered her gaze to her iPhone.

“Why is he dropping my call like that?” She paused for a moment before going to the restroom. At this point, Lear was opening the door to Times, who had knocked.

“Visitors are not permitted at this time, because my parents are at home.” Times, Mark’s driver, had knocked on the door as Lear opened it for him, and yelled at him.

“I delivered the excellent news to Ms. Sandra. Does she lives at home?” The large guy, Times with muscles, reacted several times with a powerful voice, which startled Lear.

She slammed the door in the man’s face. Sandra heard a door smash and assumed it was her mischievous sister fooling with the door. She was preoccupied with restroom matters. As a result, she did not come out to check out what her sister was up to.

“What is happening, Lear?” As she applied her lipstick, she yelled. Times, the billionaire’s chauffeur, stood outside, perplexed as to what the girl was thinking. Sandra ultimately stepped out of the closet after receiving no reactions from her sister, looking like a queen in a celebrity magazine.

“Why are you standing against the door?” She yelled as she approached her sister, while she dressed like a model on stage.

“Be quiet.” Lear whispered instructing her sister to keep her mouth quiet.

“What’s going on? I’m your older sister, and I should be aware of what’s going on.” As Sandra approached Lear near the door, she rubbed up against her.

“Open this door right now!” Sandra yelled, pushing her sister away. Lear adjusted her weight and pushed her sister away. They played a push-pull game until Times, the enormous guy standing outside the door, opened it and stepped inside, where he found Sandra and her sister arguing.

“I came to see Ms. Sandra. Mr. Mark has requested that I come and pick her up.” Times spoke to the girls who sat on the ground ripping each other’s hair.

“You ruined my hair. Poor girl, look at what you’ve done.” Sandra reprimanded her sister as she rose from the ground after hearing Times’s remarks. She was even embarrassed after witnessing how her younger sister had ruined her clothing and hair. She had no choice but to go and change her way of dress.

“Your childishness has delayed my evening out. You’re absolutely repulsive.” She reprimanded Lear as she hurried to her closet to fix her hair and change her red outfit.

“I’ll be there in a minute.” Times, the gentleman who had come to pick her up for her evening out, was assured by Sandra. Then she went into her closet, leaving Lear on the floor and Times standing next to the door, wondering what the females were arguing about.

“She’ll stay in her closet for the rest of the night. She enjoys looking in the mirror. Forget about going out for the evening. If I were you, I’d flee before the owner arrives.” Times was intimidated by Lear, but he was not threatened by her. He just shrugged and glanced at Lear.

“I’m not here to ruin your evening. My boss has requested me to come pick up Sandra for an evening out.” Times replied by diverting his attention to his boss, Mark who had sent him to Sandra. Lear stood up and shuffled backwards, as if she was afraid of Times. At this point, the door was shut. Sandra was in the closet, changing her clothes and fixing her hair.

“Knock, knock, knock!” At the door, there comes a knock. Lear hurried to her seat in her gaming room, put on her headphones, and resumed her game, leaving Times at the door to await Sandra’s return from the closet. Lear realized it was either her father or her mother knocking. Times walked through the door and met Lear’s father, Joel, the head of Melon City’s security agency.

“Who exactly are you, big man?” Sandra’s father, Joel, inquired as he entered his home, only to find a powerful unknown man at his door while his children were not present. Sandra was finishing off her dressing when she heard her father’s voice. She then emerged from the closet while still putting on her earrings and keeping her purse under her armpit with her right arm.

“He came over to pick me up.” Sandra stepped out of her bedroom dressed in white to intervene for Times. When she approached him, she hugged her father, and Lear noted that her father was not angered by Times’ presence in his house. She emerged from her gaming room and hurried to embrace him, exactly like her sister had done.

“Daddy, Daddy!” exclaimed Lear as she ran up to her father.

“You sound like a newborn craving mother’s milk.” Sandra tempted her younger sister, who was already in her father’s arms. Sandra drew Times and tried to flee the house. Sandra in the back, Times in the front, but Lear had another plan to delay her sister. She stared at her father and then pretended to want to follow her sister, who was on her way out of the door after Times.

“Whoa, my goodness, Lear, what are you doing to me tonight?” Sandra screamed at Lear and staggered backward as her little sister yanked her hair. She fell, rolled over, and sobbed. Lear observed her father frowning at her when she looked at him. She, too, cried out loudly, as if she had been beaten. She then rushed back to her gaming room but sat on her gaming chair.

“Sorry, my baby.” Sandra’s father, Joel, consoled Sandra as he picked her up. He took her in his arms and carried her back to her room.

“Be careful, my baby. Prepare for your night out by fixing yourself.” Joel consoled his depressed daughter. He exited her chamber and sat next to his little naughty daughter, Lear, when he noticed her smiling at the gaming room.

“My sister wanted to leave me alone.” Lear said to her father, trying to wail.

“I am now at home. Please leave your elder sister alone.” As he held his daughter in his arms, Joel made a statement. Sandra had completed dressing for the second time, but her main concern was her rebellious younger sister. As a result, she sought to punish her if she tries to tamper with her again. She emerged from the closet and proceeded to the gaming room, where her father and younger sister were.

“Goodnight, Dad.” Sandra kissed her father farewell as she exited gaming room after she had put on her third article of clothing. It was also red, like the first one. Her little sister appeared eager to retard her sister once more.

“The party has been canceled.” Lear shrieked in order to disturb her sister.

“You should begin training right away. When I return, it will be a titanic battle between you and me. Daddy will act as a referee.” Sandra threatened her younger sister, Lear. Joel grinned and waved his hand as Sandra walked out the door with Times, the billionaire’s driver. She’d finally gotten out of the house and away from her childish sister.

Chapter 2: Long journey to meet the billionaire. | Upgraded By The Touch Of A Tycoon

Sandra had finally gotten out of the house, away from her wayward sister, who was now playing games with her father. Her thoughts were now fixed on her picnic with the tycoon. Times, the billionaire’s chauffeur, unlocked the Rolls Royce’s back door. As a result, Sandra entered without reluctance, but Times remained outside, as if he intended to communicate with her via the window. He was supposed to inquire about Sandra’s wellbeing.

“Did you make it out of your father’s house?” Times asked Sandra a question as she leaned over the car window, attempting to grab her iPhone 14 Pro Max from her purse. He immediately proceeded to the front door and attempted to unlock it while waiting for Sandra’s response. He eventually got into the car and started it. As a result, Sandra raised her head, as if considering the issue made by Times.

“I left a message for her to prepare for my arrival. We’re going to have a fight.” Sandra responded and then glanced herself in the phone mirror, expecting Times to focus on driving the car, but he seemed willing to extend the discussion with Sandra. He subsequently ignited the car and drove away from the billionaire’s crush’s house. Sandra’s departure from her home was seen on the Melon Security Agency’s surveillance cameras. The chief of the security guards, Ham, calls his boss, Joel, Sandra’s father, to inform him of his daughter’s departure.

“We saw your daughter go into the Rolls Royce. She is now traveling east of Melon’s central metropolis. Is it something you’re aware of?” While sitting in the observation office, he reported every movement of the car carrying Sandra.

As a result, Joel responded while still sitting next to Lear playing the video game, “Yes, thank you for letting me know.” Ham hung up the phone and returned to his work of monitoring the city via surveillance cameras. Sandra was the center of attention as Times chauffeured her in a billionaire’s automobile. The conversation between the tycoon’s crush, Sandra, and her driver, Times, was going well.

“I’d love to be a part of your family. Your father is a gentleman. Your sister is naughty.” Times remarked with a smile while driving. His phone began to ring. His boss, Mark, demanded to know where he and Sandra were.

“He’s right here with me, sir, and we’ll be there in a minute.” He answered the phone, but Mark hung up when he noticed Sandra was on her way to him. The interview he was conducting had now come to an end. The billionaire was now conversing with his head guard, Donta, on the balcony, while the journalist, Niska was conversing with her husband, Dwayne, one of Mark, the Tycoon’s top guards. Sandra, on the other hand, was irritated by the billionaire’s behavior because she anticipated him to phone her and inquire about her whereabouts.

“Why isn’t Mark calling to find out about my whereabouts?” Sandra questioned about her evening out with Mark, having seen anything peculiar. The road appeared to be congested, with traffic cops stationed throughout. This frightened the driver even more. Sandra chose to play video games on her phone to pass the time as they were still far from the hotel where the tycoon was staying.

“Disaster has arrived. What are they doing on this road at night?” When he noticed traffic cops carrying out a stop and search on the road, Times screamed. The traffic cops focused their attention on Rolls Royce the drove towards them. Sandra stopped playing video games because she was afraid of getting into trouble if the cops stopped and searched her car. One of the traffic cops did, in fact, point at the automobile and force it to stop on the opposite side of the road. Sandra and Times were both terrified.

“Something is not right about my trip.” Sandra stated her concerns as the cop pulled them over. He opened the window to speak with the traffic cop who had stopped him.

“We are patrolling these streets, sir. You’re already aware that you shouldn’t drink and drive.” The officer said this while glancing out the window at Times. Times had been drinking with other guards before being ordered to come and take Sandra. As a result, there would be no way for him to avoid the incarceration that he knew was coming.

“How about you?” Times questioned, his face set on the traffic cop. Sandra became aware of Times’ attitude toward the traffic cop as a result of his question.

“We want to see if you drank any kind of alcohol before getting on the road. I’d like you to come out.” A law enforcement officer responded. The test started the moment Times stepped out of the car.

“Oh, my God. Don’t tell me the billionaire’s driver is inebriated.” Sandra spoke her thoughts out after seeing the cop find Times positive in his alcohol test. When she observed the traffic officer summoning the other officers, she realized her driver was about to be arrested. She considered doing something to set Times free.

“Please excuse me, sir. We’re on our way to a business meeting. We must bargain. At this point, I won’t be able to drive myself to the meeting.” Sandra requested that the traffic officer free Times from the manacle that had him bound.

“There will be no bargaining, lady. Joel’s eldest child. We arrested your driver for driving under the influence.” The cop calmed Sandra as the other cops arrived to bring Times to prison cells.

“Who is going to drive me to the meeting if you take him?” Sandra wailed as she prayed for Times’ freedom. The traffic officer was harsh. Sandra was already out of the car, pleading with the cops to let Times go, but she was unsuccessful.

“Get into your car and call your father to come pick you up and drive you to the meeting.” Sandra was terrified, so the police ordered her to get inside the car. She got into her car and called Mark. The traffic cops just arrested Times, and Sandra had been detained inside the Rolls Royce. She didn’t even know how to drive properly because she had never used her license in public. Her father was not informed of the incident that occurred to his daughter at this time. Instead of contacting her father, she dialed the number of the billionaire who had invited her.

“You sent an inebriated driver to pick me up. I’m locked in your car now that he’s been detained. Come and get me.” She was sobbing on the phone with the business magnate. Mark appeared unmoved by what he was informed about his driver, whom he had instructed to take his crush.

“I’ll send another driver to take you to the hotel where I’m resting.” Mark reacted to Sandra’s fears before continuing his discussion with Donta, his chief guard.

“You keep sending me drunk drivers as if I weren’t special.” Why don’t you come and pick me up by yourself?” Sandra retaliated by yelling back at Mark.

“I’m at the meeting, and I’m also drunk,” he explained as he hung up the phone.

“I’m going home because I think I’m being duped by a billionaire.” Sandra said, not realizing Mark had stopped chatting and was talking with his head guard. The tycoon was the most guarded, with eight guards escorting him everywhere he went.

At this point, his wife, Gwen was alone at home. Sandra finally discovered that the call had been dropped when she checked the time. She became enraged to the point where she considered every night out with the billionaire as a waste of time when she could have been in bed.

“This womanizer had dropped his call,” she said as she got into the driver’s seat. Her new idea was to drive the tycoon’s Rolls Royce back home. Even though Ham, the security person in charge of surveillance observed her, he did not notify her father, Joel, as he did when she departed her residence. She attempted to start the car because she was the only one who had the key.

“The power is now in my hands.” she said as she tried to start the car, intending to return home. She made a U-turn as soon as she attempted to return home. The car came to an abrupt halt and locked itself. That was another tease that wounded her much more than the previous one.

“Damn! Automobiles in the modern world. What is the current impediment? Am I not allowed to return home?” She yelled and hammered on the door as she tried to get out of the car. It was closed. As soon as she saw it, she understood she was trapped in the automobile. She called her father’s phone number.

“My driver has been arrested. I tried to go home, but the car locked up with me inside.” When she spoke to her father, Joel, she sobbed.

“Hello, I’m coming to see you.” As he stepped up from the couch he was seated on while playing a video game with his daughter, Lear, Joel made a remark. His younger daughter observed that her older sister had not arrived at her destination. She began to feel resentment toward her.

“My sister had the worst night ever, and she should be ashamed of herself.” While seeing her father put on his jacket, she remarked on this.

“You were the first to contribute to this mess.” He admonished his daughter and raced to his garage, leaving Lear alone in her grief. While her father was away, she reflected on her mother. Her mother, Anne entered the gaming room and discovered her daughter sobbing, as if she had called her. She was aware that something awful had happened to her daughter. She sat next to her, comforting her while she complained.

“What have I done now, Father?” She cried out in her mother’s alms. Her father had already departed for the garage. She kept complaining to her mother.

“My father holds me accountable for my sister’s transgressions.” She sobbed in her mother’s arms incessantly, as if she was blameless in all her actions. Her mother was aware of her and how they frequently fought with her elder sister. She discovered a method to console her after kissing her hair.

“They forgot you were a baby, Mom says, and she adores you, my lovely princess.” Anne cradled her cheeky child in her arms.

“I really want to sleep with you.” Lear said this while wiping away tears and looking at her mother.

“My baby, put on your sleep pajamas and come sleep in your mother’s bed. Mom will breastfeed you until your sister’s problems are forgotten.” She informed her daughter, Lear, who came out laughing. They both rose up and turned to face one other.

“I’m kidding, mama. If I sleep with you, where will Dad sleep? You know how scared he is. That is why she requires your presence on a daily basis.” While wrapping her arms around her mother’s waist, Lear said this. They exited the gaming room with the intention of going to their bedroom. Anne was still carrying her purse. Sandra’s night out with the tycoon went unnoticed by her mother.

“I’m in love with you, Lear.” As she proceeded from the gaming room to her bedroom, Anne reassured her child. She didn’t enter the room, but she did let her mother in. She kissed her on the cheek and murmured, “Goodnight, mother.” She then went to her bedroom shower and took a bath. The time was eight o’clock at night. As a result, it was still early in the city’s life.

The second driver dispatched by Mark, the billionaire, had arrived to the location where Sandra was stuck with the car at this point. Sandra’s father, Joel, was still on his way. Sandra noticed a man attempting to open the door of a Rolls Royce.

“Can you tell me who you are? What are you doing opening my car?” Sandra shrieked as Gilda, the driver Mark had assigned to pick her up, opened the car door.

“This is the driver I sent to pick you up.” Throughout the phone call, Mark reassured Sandra. Gilda was already in the car, waiting for Sandra to come out of the driver’s seat so he could drive her to the billionaire’s hotel.

“Take the steering wheel.” As she returned to the rear seat, she said this. Gilda drove until they arrived at the billionaire’s hotel.

“I see you’ve gotten away from where you were. Is everything all right, my child?” Joel asked Sandra where she was confined as he drove near the place.

“Mark’s driver arrived and drove us to the place where we would eat for dinner. Sorry for making you look like a fool, Dad.” As she entered the hotel, escorted by four of Mark’s security, she apologized to her father.

“You are my child, I say. My main concern is your safety, I say. I’m going home.” Joel drove back home to soothe his daughter.

“Thank you very much, Dad. You’re my best friend.” she said as she walked into Mark’s hotel room. Joel returned home to find his daughter missing from the gaming room where he had left her.

“Are you sound asleep, my baby?” He knocked and questioned about her whereabouts in her bedroom.

“Daddy! You’ve come back. Where has my sister gone?” Lear screamed as she opened the door to see her father. She appeared to still be bathing.

“She had finally met her partner. Good night, my child.” He said goodbye to his daughter, leaving her bare body staring at him. Joel entered his bedroom and slept beside his wife. Lear had finished his shower and retired to bed.
